So it's not biblical as I did not see a single Bible quote from your description. Also please not that the only thing that purges man's being is the blood of Jesus as stated in Heb 9:14. You have the Bible and you have your mind use them, don't let others impose what they believe into you.

Now, i made this thread only 2 support a thread i saw earlier on. Now let me ratify some misconception about the existence of purgatory.
1.. For those who keep arguing that nofyn like this word "purgatory" is mentioned in the bible... Pls understand that purgatory as a word is only used to describe the concept of temporal relief as stated by the magisterium (the living teaching body of the Roman Catholic church).. Purgatory from the word purge is simply adopted by the church to help explain the whole concept behind this state of temporal punishment for cleansing.. So pls try and relate better to the concept ,not the word
2.. The concept of purgatory as adopted by the magisterium is propounded on the the foundation of these two essentials ,sacred scripture and tradition.. Tradition which is an essential has unfortunately been ignored by other breakaway Christian brethren. The church takes into account the reality that not everything concerning the Christian Faith could have been documented into one book...(for more about the history of the scripture ..refer to google) and so treat tradition which invariably is undocumented scripture very seriously. It is used in many interpretation and most importantly in propounding the Catholic compendium.
3.. Having looked critically at the above two...it would give one a deeper insight when evaluating the existence of purgatory
4.. I might given u ppl some scriptural backings, but i kw that is something that all can relate 2 ....the purpose of this thread is not to impose the belief of purgatory on one .. Rather it is to help one to evaluate the belief of purgatory..

Here is what the bible says... It is appointed unto man once to die and after that judgement...Note the bolded...if you appoint someone for something you can reverse it for a reason...this explains why i believe most stories of people going to hell and heaven and coming back(not all are true though)...this also explains why one can be pronounced dead by doctors but after prayers by true children of God, the person will wake up...because it is appointed and not fixed... but for purgatory it is a pure lie...firstly there is no place in the bible where the word is mentioned...secondly the bible made it clear that if you receive Christ you will be saved and if you don't you are condemned...thirdly if the passage that says after death, judgement is anything to go by then purgatory is a pure lie...if there is supposed to be a clause like purgatory, it would have been included...the passage would have been "it is appointed unto man once to die, then a possible atonement while dead, then judgement.
Summary of everything i have said is that their is nothing like purgatory...it is not biblical...

to make such a remark...i can tell that u are a member of an Orthodox church ....in questioning the existence of purgatory.. The roman Catholic teaching body of christ on earth which is the magesterium uses 2 components ...sacred scripture and tradition, bcuz d truth of matters is that not everything could enter inside the bible...so oral tradition of the early Christians as well as written ones are reviewed and documented
