Charity is a project that is obviously dear to Pope Francis. Just days before, he made headlines for donating a Lamborghini that he got as a gift to charity. He's taken to Twitter to spread his message of sharing with those who are not so fortunate. source:http://www.pressnewsng.com.ng/2017/11/pope-francis-shares-message-on-helping_18.html?m=1

nice one. if Robert Mugabe doesn't relinquish the power in peace, he will surely be defeated by the Zimbabwe army. God bless America for their great efforts. |
The United states appears to have thrown its weight behind the military coup which brought Robert Mugabe's 37 year reign to an end. In an interview with Reuters, acting Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Donald Yamamoto said: "It's a transition to a new era for Zimbabwe, that's really what we're hoping for." 93-year old Mugabe has not resigned or been formally deposed but Yamamoto appeared to dismiss the idea of Mugabe remaining in a transitional or ceremonial role. Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with African Union officials at the State Department in Washington, he described the situation in Zimbabwe as "very fluid." The United States would discuss lifting multiple U.S. sanctions on Zimbabwe if it began enacting political and economic reforms, he said. In a message for Zimbabwe's political leaders, he said: "Our position has always been that if they engage in the constitutional reforms, economic and political reforms, and move forward to protecting political space and the human rights, then we can start the dialogue on lifting sanctions." source:http://www.pressnewsng.com.ng/2017/11/us-appears-to-back-zimbabwe-coup-as-top.html?m=1

this is called underaged marriage. no respect for the kids again. so so pathetic. |
There's a new Iraqi law that could legalize marriage for children as young as nine, legalize marital rape, and set women's rights back 50 years, human rights activists have warned. The activists are calling on Iraqi ministers to withdraw a draft of the Jafaari Personal Status Law which would allow Muslim clerics to have control over marriage contracts. The bill includes provisions that would legalize marital rape, allow nine-year-old children to marry, and ban Muslims from marrying non-Muslims. The 2014 version of the bill, which was approved by Iraq's Council of Ministers, is based on the Shia principles of the Jaafari school of jurisprudence, which was founded by the sixth Shia Imam, Jaafar al-Sadiq. On November 1, Iraq's Council of Representatives voted in principle to approve the amendment and the bill was signed by 40 parliamentarians. Iraq's elections will be held in May next year. Suad Abu-Dayyeh, the Middle East consultant for the advocacy group Equality Now, warned that the law, which would cover the 36 million Shia citizens living in Iraq, would have a "catastrophic" impact on women's rights. Suad told The Guardian: "We are outraged. We will be supporting women in Iraq by issuing alerts about the bill. We are also writing letters to the speaker of [parliament] and the president." Activists from civil society organizations gathered in the Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah on Sunday, November 12 to present a petition against the bill. "This new bill to amend the Personal Status Law will authorize religious men to enforce illegal marriages and force girls under 18 to live with their in-laws. This is a setback to the achievements Iraqi women made and struggled for half a century ago," the petition read. Joe Stork, deputy Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch (HRW) said if the law is approved by the Iraqi parliament, it "would be a disastrous and discriminatory step backward for Iraq's women and girls." He added: "This personal status law would only entrench Iraq's divisions while the government claims to support equal rights for all. It flies in the faces of the Iraqi government's legal commitments to protect women's and girls' rights." The United Nations in Iraq has also condemned the bill. Jan Kubis, the special representative to Iraq of the UN Secretary-General said: "I call upon the Council of Representatives to seize this opportunity...to conduct a wider consultation on the draft amendments in a participatory manner to recommit to and ensure the full respect, protection and fulfillment of women and girls' rights in Iraq in relation to matrimonial and other matters." source:http://www.pressnewsng.com.ng/2017/11/9-year-old-girls-in-iraq-could-be_15.html

he conduct of a female Federal Road Safety Commission official was caught on camera yesterday in Akwa Ibom State. The official allegedly dragged steering with a driver in a moving vehicle along Grace Bill Road in Eket, over an unknown issue. See the report by a Facebook user below... "I am of the opinion that if the said vehicle has any issue, since according to the owner that you guys have been seeing the vehicle on daily basis since it is used for security purposes at Qua Iboe Terminal, the best to do was to take down the plate number and get them the following day rather than dragging steeing in a vehicle with high speed. This is what took the life of a young lady few months back along Ibesikpo Road and I never expected this from a trained institution like the FRSC of Nigeria. If not for the intervention of the Transition Chairman of Eket, Mrs Abigail Edohoeket, nobody know what would've happened yesterday." source:http://www.pressnewsng.com.ng/2017/11/photos-female-frsc-official-in-akwa_14.html

witchcraft spirit caused all this killings. i cast out witchcraft spirit. Demonic powers are real. |
An 80-year-old man, Kwacha Manu and his son, Likita, 40, have been paraded by Niger State Police Command for their alleged involvement in the death of their 100-year-old mother and grandmother, Inne Kaiyo. . The incident occurred at Marke Gada Maje. Manu allegedly killed his mother for purportedly killing Likita’s daughter, Magajiya, through witchcraft. Following the death of Magajiya, 17, her grandfather, Manu, who could not bear the loss, allegedly used sticks to flog his mother to death. . Sources alleged that Inne used witchcraft to kill people in her extended family. Magajiya is said to be the ninth person to die in “unnatural circumstances” in the family. . Manu, who admitted to have flogged his mother, claimed he only flogged her on the legs, “which couldn’t have killed her.” He alleged: “After killing my granddaughter, I could not just let her go free. . So I used a dry stick to cane her on the legs, asking her why she killed her great grandchild, who took care of me, unlike her, who did nothing for me.” Asked how they knew his mother was responsible for the girl’s death, Manu said: “We knew through my late granddaughter, Magajiya, when she was ill. . She cried and begged her great grandmother, Inne, to release her soul. We all begged my mother to release her, but she refused. I’m aware that my mother was a witch.” Likita said he was not in the village when the incident occurred. . His words: “I don’t know why the police arrested me. Besides losing my daughter, my two other children are ill. I’ve not even seen the body of my late child.” Police spokesman Abigail Unaeze said father and son were nabbed for homicide and had confessed. He added that they would soon be arraigned. via: Punchng source:http://www.pressnewsng.com.ng/2017/11/80-yr-old-man-flogs-his-100-yr-old-mum.html

Gay practices is against the will of God. |
51-year-old Henry Badenhorst, the founder of groundbreaking dating site Gaydar, died after falling from a tower block on Saturday in his native South Africa, Buzzfeed reported. . He died a decade after his co-founder and former partner, Gary Frisch, fell to his death in London. The two created Gaydar, which became the world’s largest dating site for gay and bisexual men, in 1999 when a friend said he was too busy to find a partner. . He stepped back from the company in 2010, three years after Mr Frisch’s death, which deeply affected him. But seven years later, Mr Badenhorst’s legacy, both on and offline, within the LGBT community and outside it, can be felt as strongly as ever. . “He realised he changed the world in a way that surprised him,” Rob Curtis, Gaydar’s current managing director told the BBC. It has, Mr Curtis said, made it safer for all LGBT people to meet. . “It was difficult for gay men to find each other, and they were really the first gay social network – and the legacy of that has lived on,” he added. http://www.pressnewsng.com.ng/2017/11/founder-of-worlds-first-gay-dating-site.html source:

Minister of finance Kemi Adeosun, says the payment of the money meant for the whistleblower of the funds discovered in an Ikoyi apartment in April this year, is being processed. In a statement released this evening, Adeosun said the whistleblower will be paid this November. Read the statement below... “The attention of the Honourable Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, has been drawn to media reports surrounding the payment to a whistleblower, who provided the tips that led to the recovery of funds stashed away in a property in Ikoyi, Lagos State. “The Honourable Minister wishes to state unequivocally that the Federal Government has not withheld any fund due to any whistleblower. The Ministry has in place detailed procedures for processing payments due under the Whistleblower Policy. The procedures were designed to prevent abuse and legal disputes and to ensure the protection of the information providers. “These procedures include an application by the agency who recovered the funds including evidence of the recovery, confirmation that there are no pending legal issues on the recovery, verification of the identity of the information provider, calculation of the amount payable and computation of relevant taxes. “It must be stated also that payments are made in monthly batches to ensure control and to protect the identity of information providers. To date, over 20 of such persons have been paid. From available records, the payment due on Ikoyi is among those being processed in the November batch, which will be released within the current month. “The Minister reiterates that the Whistleblowing Policy of the Federal Government remains one of the current Administration’s successful initiatives and that the Government is fully committed to ensuring that all those who responded to the policy and partnered with Government in the recovery effort are paid in full and most importantly have their identity protected. “The Whistleblower Policy was introduced in December 2016 by the Federal Government as part of the initiatives to wage war against corruption.” source:http://www.pressnewsng.com.ng/2017/11/ikoyi-whistleblower-to-get-his-reward.html?m=0
