Butterflyleo: Johnnyessence aka johnnyvid are you from Ekiti? You are actually the one who has been taking panadol, tramadol, aspirin, ibuprofen, and all other pain killing drugs for another person since the 14th.
We the Ekiti people love the results and are glad we have been freed. You are not from Ekiti and could not even come to Ekiti during the elections and you are here mouthing off.
The single mindedness and resilience of my Ekiti people hasn't hit you yet abi?
We have decided! We never wanted Fayose. He was imposed upon us in 2014.
This is the first time in 4 years we are having an executive governor and we embrace him.
Take yourself to your state and focus on it.
APC is coming for OSUN too and you best believe it.
hmmm you have started boasting again. ok i'm asking you here in terms of social responsibility, transparency and accountability, who will carry the day and who to be trusted. you always praise fayemi.i hope you don't forget the past if you say you are from ekiti state. fayose is a movement in ekiti state. he has brought the state to limelight. don't worry the truth will surely prevail in the governorship election.
kahal29: The declaration of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s Dr. Kayode Fayemi as the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election was reflective of the cyclic turn of the governorship of the state since the advent of the Fourth Republic. Since the Alliance for Democracy, AD first won the governorship of the state in 1999; no particular political party had won re-election in a governorship contest.
The AD was ousted in 2003 by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s Mr. Ayodele Fayose who benefited from the blitzkrieg of the PDP through the Southwest that year.
Fayose did not survive the turmoil of office and was ousted in an impeachment exercise that was, however, to be subsequently declared void.
Though the PDP was declared the winner of the 2007 governorship election with its candidate, Engr. Segun Oni, that declaration was subsequently overturned in favour of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN’s Dr. Kayode Fayemi in 2010.
Dr. Fayemi’s bid for re-election was defeated in 2014 as Mr. Fayose regained favour with the electorate in an election that was characterised by heavy policing as that of last Saturday.
Fayose who is completing his second term in office this September was not eligible for another term, but that did not make him any less of a factor or player in the election of his successor last weekend. In fact, Mr. Fayose was more of a factor, and he is bound to take the defeat heavier than even the PDP’s candidate, Prof. Olasola Eleka, who is the outgoing deputy governor of the state.
Eleka, who was Fayose’s hand-chosen successor was the outgoing governor’s man to undo the cyclic rotation of power between the PDP and the other political parties. Had he succeeded, it would have been the first time that a sitting political party would have legitimately recycled itself in office. However, despite everything that the governor threw into the game he came out the loser in a contest that predictably ran down to the wire.
It is significant that in nearly every conversation and analysis that is following the declaration of the result that Eleka who was the candidate was not being seen as the loser; rather, the face of defeat has been that of his principal, the man that he had respectably called his boss. THE FACTORS
Hungry Workers
The outgoing administration entered the contest with the majority of workers not having received any salary this year. State civil servants according to the latest figures are being owed five months salary arrears, local government workers are owed eight months while pensioners are owed ten months.
On the eve of the election, there were reports of civil servants and pensioners receiving between N3,000 and N5,000 credit alert as mobilisation to vote for the PDP.
For Ekiti people who hold their dignity with pride, it was bound to be seen as an insult especially for the citizenry who had not received their salaries.
On Election Day ordinary voters were given N4,000 for their mobilisation. The APC gave more money ranging from N5,000 to N10,000, but that was not the deciding factor. The voters who collected the money acted according to their conscience on who had done them better.
Even more, gratuity for former civil servants has not been paid since 2012. The abandonment of Fayose
Fayose’s seeming brashness led to the exit of several grassroots mobilisers from the party leading to the situation that on Election Day he was about the only prominent PDP personality in the country that was recognisable. Perhaps the only other person that could draw nationwide recognition was Senator Biodun Olujumi, the Senate Deputy Minority Whip. She was the only one standing who refused to defect after other nationally recognisable persons had left.
Among those who left the party for Fayose were Senator Gbenga Aluko, Senator Ayo Arise, former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran; former chairman of the state chapter of the party, Ropo Adesanya; former PDP spokesman Taiwo Olatunbosun, former minister of agriculture, Senator Bode Olowoporoku, Ambassador Dare Bejide, former Deputy Governor Bisi Omoyeni, former Speaker Clement Akinyemi, former Speaker Femi Bamisile. Besides members of the House of Assembly, Fayose’s former commissioner for justice also left his cabinet and the party and defected to the APC.
Unarguably, the most decisive blow on Fayose could have been the last minute defection of former national PDP publicity secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.
Prince Adeyeye was a collaborator with Fayose in the victory of 2014 and had served as a minister in the Goodluck Jonathan administration under whose tenure the election that brought back Fayose was done.
Was there a covenant between both men at the time of the 2014 election? No one among the two has said so, but Adeyeye felt sufficiently betrayed and disappointed after the primaries to defect from the PDP. He left the PDP despite publicly claiming that the primary election in which he took second place was free and fair.
Adeyeye subsequently was able to pull many leading patrons of the PDP to move with him to the APC, notably including some members of the House of Assembly.
Last weekend, Adeyeye was given the role of coordinating two local governments, Ise Orun and Emure Local Government Areas.
The PDP won Emure by 7,121 votes to 7,048 votes a margin of 73 votes. In his native Ise Orun, the APC won by 11,908 votes to the 6,297 votes polled by PDP, a margin of 5,611 votes which has proved to be the highest margin of victory for either party in all 16 local government areas of the state.
Fayose would undoubtedly be ruing the fact that he perhaps could have put in more effort to mollify his former friend, Adeyeye. Even before the results were collated, Adeyeye had proved his mettle when he delivered his polling booth to Fayemi by 92% with 175 votes to the 15 scored by the PDP.
Brash and Brawn
Governor Fayose had won nationwide popularity with his streetwise attitude, but it is doubtful if that attitude won him any serious approval among the Ekiti who have the reputation of having the most schooled persons in the country.
A victory for Eleka would probably have radically altered the perception of the governor of Ekiti State, but it would also have meant that Faysoe had gotten away with his streetwise habit. That was probably an issue for many Ekiti people!
There's ongoing tension in the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) over the July 19 primaries election, in which mass of the members rejected the purported direct system, against the delegate form of primaries. Speaking with the newsmen in Osogbo on Monday, Barrister Goke Ogunsola, the Legal adviser to the party in the state, flanked with other members of the State Working Committee announced the suspension of the Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun , and the Secretary, Alhaji Rasak, Salinsile. He said: "We hereby pass a vote of no confidence on the party, Chairman, and the Secretary for conniving with some unscrupulous elements to impose dire t primary on the party, against the popular wish. https://www.amiloaded.com/2018/07/just-in-osun-apc-chairman-secretary.html?m=1
wanted2018: Happening now in Ado Ekiti. Okada riders gathering opposite NEPA office Ajilosun area. with some of them wielding machetes. Security operatives should keep tab on them.
A big fat lie, post their machete here ok. your lies and propanganda doesn't hold any water ok.
PassingShot: Since conclusion of the gubernatorial election in Ekiti state, we have been inundated with allegations by PDP/Eleka/Fayose and indeed their sympathizers that the APC-led FG rigged the election. The absurd thing about the allegations is the observation that majority of those alleging fraud are neither residents nor indigene of the state. Most are from the eastern part of Nigeria!
Having waited for two days after the election observing claims by the losing camp, I have come to the conclusion that the election was lost by Fayose and it could not have been rigged for the following reasons:
1. Owing of Salaries Not a single person has denied that Fayose last paid any form of salary or allowance to the civil servants of the state in 2017!. We were told the last time the state's workers received their salary was in December last year despite the fact that the state regularly gets her monthly allocation from the FG in addition to bail outs and Paris Club refunds. If this was not enough reason to vote Fayose/Eleka out in your books, please check yourself. And don't compare this to Osun where the state government reached an agreement with the workers to pay half salary since a drastic reduction in the state's income. That was a mutual agreement even though it's not an ideal situation.
2. PDP is Strong in Ekiti We have largely agreed in the past that rigging is only possible where you are strong and the opposition is weak (even though this is not 100% correct). PDP is more than a formidable party in Ekiti and it is the government in power controlling all the 16 local governments in the state. With all commissioners and boots on the ground, only barefaced rigging as we saw in 2014 against Fayemi/APC could have made rigging successful in the last election. This fact that low-level rigging could not be enough for a strong party was the reason PDP did barefaced rigging in 2014 where military was used to arrest opposition figures and muzzle the judiciary. No matter your insinuation, no one can claim anything like we witnessed in 2014 occurred in the last election in Ekiti.
3. Muzzling of Rivals/opponents Fayose succeeded in pocketing Ekiti's PDP to the point that he literally became the party chairman, the Speaker of Ekiti HOA and even the judge in some instances. The result of that behaviour was Fayose's imposition of Eleka on the party culminating into losing some erstwhile political allies to the opposition (APC) including decamping of 2 senators, the state's HOA Chief Whip and some other leading party's top politicians few days to the election. If this tells us anything, it is the fact that PDP as a party has not embraced internal democracy and still prefers the old way of imposition which largely caused it the presidency in 2015. No wahala, make dem continue. We will also continue to tell them that electorate can not be enslaved with this attitude of theirs.
4. Spontaneous Jubilation in Parts of Ekiti If by now you are still doubting that the election was not rigged, you only need to watch videos of spontaneous jubilation in some parts of the state that greeted the announcement of Fayemi as the next governor of the state. That there has not been any protest since the result of the election was announced is an indication that majority of electorate prefer Fayemi to PDP/Eleka. Check videos on FB and Youtube to clear your doubt please.
5. No Hard Evidence of Rigging Has Surfaced Till Date I firmly believe that if any rigging took place, PDP and its agents accross the polling stations of the state will have come up with photos nad videos of such manipulation. In this age of advanced technology, it won't be difficult for the party's agents to have photos/videos of result sheet at the collation centers (from each polling booth to the state's collation center). I am sure if anything with a semblance of rigging exists, PDP will not waste a second to release it to the public before even heading to court!. Fayose and PDP knew they were losing the election, hence the childish displays by the thugnor before the election to curry undeserved sympathy from the electorate.
To those who think that celebrating thugery of Fayose and attacking the president and/or APC at any given opportunity is a sign of strength or boldness/bravery, they need to start understanding that people on the street are not stupid to buy that childish gimmicks. Nigerians largely know who brought them to the situation we are currently getting out of. They know who their enemies are. However, if they still believe in shamelessly engaging in online abuse and attack, they will continue to be told in the right language at the right time that we are not fools and will not allowed to be taken for a ride.
Lastly, APC-led government and indeed PMB have proved over and over again that the voice of the masses will count even if they find themselves on the losing side. Examples include the senatorial election in Osun won by Adeleke of PDP, a senatorial election in Kogi won by PDP and the gubernatorial election in Anambra won by APGA. If you still call PMB a tyrant after all of these examples, you need to examine yourself and repent before you die of chronic hatred for the man trying to rescue us all.
Cheers!
5. coalition of Observers has reject the inec results. abi you never read that news. go through nairaland and read that place ok.you are still a defeated fellow. keep it on. ekiti people that votes doesn't need all these epitles you posted here. ekiti people know whom they voted for. tribunal will be set up in due time. so don't add another panadol to one headache ok.
Butterflyleo: Johnnyessence aka Johnnyvid Will you just shut up you this non Ekiti indigene. You keep saying nonsense everywhere.
1) FAYOSE LOSE GOVERNMENT HOUSE POLLING UNIT
2) FAYOSE LOST HIS OWN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ( IREPODUN AND IFELODUN)
3). LERE OLAYINKA LOST HIS OWN POLLING UNIT IN OKEMESI.
So fayemi rigged them in their own polling units abi?
The handwriting of defeat was on the wall for FAYOSE to read all this while but he chose to ignore and deceive himself that we the Ekiti people loved him.
We were actually waiting for the 14th to take our own pound of flesh from him and we did so as one.
FAYOSE was imposed on us in 2014 and since then it has been pain and torture but today we rejoice because we are free.
Go and face your state and stop lamenting over my state. Our choice should not be causing you sleepless nights and high blood pressure na.
if you are sure of what you are saying, oya post the results from polling units to another and let us see the differences. i have melt the likes of you here. just post it here and let us see it. not only that, post the results of polling unit of comrade lere olayinka. be civil ok.
tboy2233: stop this lies it won't change anything, PDP became calm around 5pm in ikere and it's because they already heard reports from other local govt. Saying results changed overnight is a lie, fayose and his stooge was clearly rejected at d poll,PDP finish Ekiti and couldn't boast of any tangible achievement there
lol really, but fayose and pdp is love by all. you are not from ekiti at all. well the court of law will decide the outcome of the poll. more evidences already have been compiled. well it was during fayose that ekiti state was ranked best state in neco results. isn't God merciful hmmmm. be civil next time ok.
yea , i understand. he is just taking panadol in another person headache. besides he is not from ekiti. ekiti people doesn't behave that way. upon the military patrol throughout in ado ekiti and other places till this moment, ekiti people are still civil and calm. so far so good, there is no form of violence from them. so just keep calm ok.
And to correct you op, tribunal will hold in ekiti state. if you are not satisfied, go and hug transformer. it will hold and nothing, i repeat there is nothing you will do about it. stop taking panadol to another headache.
Ekitimadman: Before PDP and Eleka said they are going to court to challenge this result, I created a threat that no Tribunal will hold or listen to their case.
To the PDP supporters outside Ekiti, you might forget what happen in 2014 but we that lives in Ekiti will never forget. PDP sponsor thugs to beat lawyers and scattered Court sittings cause of 2014 election that was rigged in support of Fayose.
I wish PDP supporters and leaders accept their faith and move on but they have decided to receive their last round of beating. No Tribunal will hold and their challenge will be taken care by thugs..
PDP will cry foul again and I will keep posting the picture attached to this thread on any thread where they are wailing.
Karma is a b*tch...... You will receive whatever you do to others in 100 folds. THANKS
you are still pained on the outcome of the judiciary. be patient ok. fayemi has his lawyers too while prof eleka has his lawyers too. just be patient ok. don't jubilate yet ok..just keep it cool.
smileyoo: an un-biased mind that monitored this ekiti election 'll no doubt confirm that it was rigged in favour of apc. the powers at the centre, just want to capture ekiti state, at all cost. that explains the absolute intimidation they unleashed on the state, before and during the elections. even though pdp is not the best as a party, yet the people's wish ought to be upheld. its not good to support evil, based on clanish & party affiliations, and still expect goodness.the pdp candidate should head to the law courts, with the overwhelming evidences, to re-claim his mandate. if nigerians keep quite over this sham of election, that's how bubu 'll rig the 2019 elections, through federal might.
well pdp is heading to the tribunal. infact heavy SAN's and lawyers will be fully involved in the tribunal. just be patient. patient is the key.
jimrox: Those that make up the coalition do not have names? No objective and true observer will release a report like this , directly attacking a particular party. This is an arranger observer, if not let them mention their individual group names.
And after they mention their individual group names, please what will you do?
Iamgrey5: The lawyers for Apc will point to these needless press release in a bid to to heat up the polity in Ekiti state as a unprofessional of the organization.
They will state this needless press release as supposed neutral observer could have put lives and property of Ekiti indigenes in danger.
They will question the motive to release the statement because they were still going to testify in the court at the end of the day.
They might even claim that the motive is to force their allegations on the courts and public opinion.
And might even go further as claiming they are the agents of PDP.
And if there evidence isn't substantial enough, it will surely be dismissed.
it is not only in ekiti state that coalition of observers do testify in the court of law, so testifying in the tribunal isn't the first time. just be patient ok. judiciary is the one that will determine the outcome of the election.

In a bid to kidnap her before the Gubernatorial elections which is slated to hold tomorrow July 14th, they tried to gain entry into her bedroom using a ladder but instead met a brick wall.
Several disturbing reports have been made about the forth coming elections, hopefully preventive measures have been put in place to avert said disaster.
