Timothy, the son of George Weah, a former Ballon d'Or winner and current presidential candidate in Liberia has announced himself on a global stage in football.

The New York-born 17-year-old, who has been signed by Paris St-Germain, scored a hat-trick for the United States at the Under-17 World Cup in their 5-0 win over Paraguay.

His second strike in particular, a brilliant curling effort from the edge box into the top corner, was reminiscent of his father who scored a memorable solo goal for Milan against Verona in 1996.

His dad also played for Monaco, Paris-St Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City in a glittering career that saw him named world player of the year in 1995 the first and so far only African player to win the award.

PoliticsLagos Ranked 8th Most Dangerous Megacity For Women by activistjohnny(op): 2:13pm On Oct 17, 2017
Lagos is the eighth most dangerous megacity for women to live in, according to a Thompson Reuters survey. Cairo, capital of Egypt, was rated the world’s most dangerous megacity for women while London, the best.

The poll which sought the opinion from some 380 experts in women’s issues, was conducted in 19 of the world’s biggest megacities (as ranked by the United Nations) between June and July 2017.

The cities were ranked based on four major factors – sexual violence, access to healthcare, cultural practices and economic opportunities. Karachi in Pakistan followed Cairo, and next in line was Kinshasa in Democratic Republic of the Congo, then the Indian capital New Delhi.

Women’s rights campaigners in Cairo said traditions dating back centuries made it a tough city, with discrimination rife. Delhi and Sao Paulo emerged as the worst cities when respondents were asked if women could live there without the risk of sexual violence, including rape, attacks or harassment. Via: TheCable

CrimePolice Sergeant, Retired ASP Arrested For ‘robbery’ by activistjohnny(op): 1:16pm On Oct 17, 2017
A police sergeant serving at the Oworo Police Division, Lagos State, Yakubu Aiyegba, and a retired Assistant Superintendent of Police, Obosa Augustine, have been arrested for alleged robbery.
According to a report by Pressnewsng, they were apprehended along with a taxi driver, Godwin George, by operatives from the Shasha Police Station.

It was learnt that Aiyegba and Augustine were notorious for raiding a hotel in Egbeda and extorting money from guests in the facility. They reportedly paraded themselves as operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Command.

They were said to have forcefully collected a sum of N50,000 and a laptop from an unnamed guest a few weeks ago. The trio went back to the facility – Ehis Hotel – on Wednesday on another extortionate raid.

They were allegedly in the middle of the act when operatives from the Shasha division, who acted on a tip-off, stormed the hotel and picked them up. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the arrest, adding that investigations were ongoing.

I love the way Dr. Deji Adeleke debunk the rumour. He has denied the rumour of governorship ambition. Even if he contest PDP will give him that slot to lead the good people of osun state. But as it stand he didn't want to negate in Nigeria politics. He's still one of the fulfilled philantropist business mogul in Nigeria. God bless dr. Deji Adeleke.
