frankyvalll: pixel experience is better for me than miui, d battery optimization, and non force closing of apps I get what you mean, i used it, it was very good but had the same problem i had with most custom roms now, its like they've added something to source...There is a delay in going back to apps already opened(in memory) after a bit of time.....only bootleggers, du, los, mdroid, posp and firehound dont have this problem. |

GrandMufti: I think by stock android he meant android one.
The rest are customised android including miui My argument was that he cant use the statistics of people that bought miui based against android one as a basis for saying majority prefer miui-based. Most just buy cos the battery is usually better than android one and they have xda support for roms..... |

NoDulling4here: You said it all "a handful"
That handful, compared to the general population is insignificant
Across all the brands, customized Android is still bought more often than stock Android.
The only problem is that OEMs tend to add their own or third party bloatware to the excellent customizations. That is what people in general (including me) don't like. Cant argue currently but should we use xda forums? People buying miui-based doesn't mean people use miui when they finally get it.... |

seyema: You are right about MIUI, full of bugs and issues especially people that like to update every week but does Androidone phone have any added feature at all? I have ask myself why that YouTuber 'unbox therapy' stick to pixel 2 phone just because it's Plain android phone. What people like in phone sha "Full of bugs" That's wrong...even stock has bugs...all OS cannot be bugless because all modules cannot be tested. Miui is fine with no major bug. |

NoDulling4here: Arguably more people still buy customized Android.
Action speaks louder than votes Cant use this to judge cos a handful of people that buy the miui versions go back to stock custom roms... |

fibonacci2526: Have used Oxygen Os, stock Android,MIUI,EMUI and flymeOS and personally I preferred the OxygenOS(closest thing to stock Android and added customisations)followed by stock Android as the experience is smooth and bugs generally are very limited.
That being said I always keep a skinned Android phone as my secondary phone so that I can appreciate both sides of the coin but it has to be stock or something close to it as my daily driver. Flyme is the trashiest on this list...God i hate that os |

4llerbuntu: Lol. LMFAO. Interesting to be techsplained.
Meanwhile, FYI your entire post is actually horseshit.
The ARB is a firmware feature. You can easily move to the affected rom versions sef, as long as you don't upgrade the firmware.
You CAN flash whatever MIUI rom you want provided you DO NOT FLASH THE FIRMWARE to the ARB affected one
If you delete the firmware folder in the rom and edit the update script, you can flash it.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi's ARB implementation is wrong. There's a good reason why you don't hear complaints from other OEM users . Even on Pixels you can downgrade.
Xiaomi's flashtool currently won't downgrade the firmware even in EDL mode.
The above and a lot more, is why it isn't the best idea to advice noobs to flash their xiaomi phones at this time.
The reason you can move to custom ROMs is because they usually don't include the firmware folder in them....
I know exactly why I made that post, my friend and it's not for the benefit of folks like you that know how to flash a zip.
Smh True...google didn't implement it to brick devices... actually when unlocked, you could do what you like but you'll get a warning before OS boots...i had the flow chart pic one time but i lost it to decryption |
