Donned in different lengths of purple dresses with graceful smiles on their faces, the women looked adorable. One could easily notice the Muslim women who were in their hijabi as they calmly pose for the camera.

The men were in a grey suit with purple accessories to match.

Covenant University has been ranked among the top 100 best universities from emerging economies in 2020

The private university located in Ota, Ogun state is the only Nigerian university to make the list

Other four African universities that made the list are in South Africa One of the most popular private universities in Nigeria, Covenant University, has been ranked among the world’s 100 best varsities from emerging economies in 2020 by The Times Higher Education (THE).

Covenant University was ranked 91st out of the first best 100 universities in the latest ranking which focused on the universities from emerging economies.

According to THE, the universities were ranked based on 13 performance indicators which are used to judge their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Nigerian award-winning singer, Burna Boy, has revealed the receipts of his last conversation with American rapper, Pop Smoke few days ago before he was shot dead yesterday.

Pop Smoke whose real name Bashar Jackson, was at a rented home in Hollywood, Los Angeles, when two men wearing hoodies and masks entered the house and fired multiple shots. He was later rushed to the nearest hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, says he would dump Nigeria and become a citizen of Togo if Bola Tinubu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), becomes Nigeria’s President in 2023.

An Abuja based pastor, JS Yusuf who also doubles as the senior pastor of Touch for Recovery Outreach International has stunned many after releasing some sets of bras and pants to ladies in her church in order to attract husband, The Nation reports.

New Nigerian words have found their way into the Oxford English Dictionary
- Some of the words are danfo, okada, next tomorrow, severally, buka, among many others
- A statement from Oxford said some of the words have been popular since the second half of the 20th century Nigerian-English language has received great attention as Oxford English Dictionary said it has added 29 Nigerian words to its words database in its January updates.
In a statement by its editor, Danica Salazar, most of the new words are from Nigerian usages, coinages, and those that have been used since the twentieth century.

In another related development, Urban Dictionary, an internet-based open-ended word database, has also added the word "Mad Oh" to its dictionary. "Mad Oh" is a Nigerian twitter lingua that gained popularity from its use on the micro-messaging app as a funny response to things that surprise or as just a mundane rejoinder.
