Koldfuzhion: Yes it does. I had to get most of the shots again, is probably why it was more expensive. Can you remember the vaccine names? If yes, how many. |

Koldfuzhion: It cost me around 40k at Q-life, but cost depends on the number and type of vaccines you take. Thanks. I actually found someone on family group that paid 28k for vaccination. Guess the prices vary based on shots given. |

Mandem101: H1b as we know it is a non -immigrant dual intent work visa. At this rate it's a shit show. An employer files for this for his/ her prospective employee. requirement usually miminim of bachelors degree / equivalent to US 4 year degree. Your attorney files the application with 10$ (this is separate from the filing fee your attorney charge you) .
Every candidate gets thrown into this lottery for 65,000 slots + 20k extra for graduates of higher degrees from us schools (at least Msc from us school). as of this year application was as high as 700k+. If lucky enough to be picked in the lottery, petition fee about 460 gets paid, then you file all the necessary docs through uscis starting on April 1st. if it's a legit petition, you should get response (approval or Request for more evidence aka RFE) within 60 days. Afterwards, you schedule interview date for your non-immigrant visa through your local embassy between August/september since You are only able to commence work on october 1st of the year the lottery was done.
If memory serves me right, there is a nigerian youtuber that made a video in 21 or 22 about her H1b experience in Abuja. Can't recall the link i'd have posted it here.
As for transferring to the UK, if you are not a resident of the uk (work, study, etc), you can't do third country visa application.
IT's best to look into cap-exempt H1b (usually non-profit institutions, research institutions) vs H1b. No lottery required, the pay usually is considerably less though , i don't have personal experience with H1b cap-exempt. if i may ask why EB2-NIW person dey do H1b? Thanks for your answer. The question was from a brother who already got H1B approval (med lab scientist). I guess he did not have to go through the lottery. Just visa screen stuffs. |

Mandem101: I was going to respond to @Taal i no get energy to do back and forth. My silence on your response doen't mean your response is correct. @Adedammy009 Definitely!!! studied in the states, worked in the states for a few post study, figured green card route didn't take much time difference (was going to use the time off for personal reason) since my attorney foresaw H1B lottery will be a shitshow, The new employer tried applying for H1 nonetheless.
As for employment PERM, with the righ degree/certification/experience and connection (nothing illegal) + if you are in the right field, you can be sponsored, you don't need to be working for employer to get that.
This is not a bigot statement => due to most asian, europeans and some canadian peeps screwing up employers, they get sponsored via green card then abscond for another job after 6 months. The employer is at a loss after paying for all the fees associated with the process. They figured it's best to go through H1B , then by year 6 or in0between that time the employer can file for your green card. The chances are slimmer now if you go through Consular processing than if you do AOS. Thanks for providing the needed clarification. Can you work me through the process of getting H1B visa from Nigeria after H1B petition approval. Is it also possible to move file from Lagos to London and have the interview in London. Thanks |

Mandem101: WE all know this is BS Excuse. Even the Consulate staffers know that. How do you then explain Immediate relative getting scheduled interviews every month. Nothing stops them to include ABUJA in the IV interview process. This is annoying AF to say the least. This fawqery just means they are bumping CR/IR ahead of EB classes (which i don't think is up to 200 from January to May this is a case load ER docs will attend to in less than a month). Riddle me this if DOL (Perm), USCIS and NVC (Thats' like 18 months itself for PERM based petitioners with premium processing) have done all the task that needs to be done for you, why is scheduling an interview that shouldn't take more than 10 minutes take almost a year to schedule is beyond imagination.
Na my employer i just dey pity, work just dey pile up. This too shall pass soon and hopefully we all will get ID date and have our visas. Just a brief clarification, I see you went through PERM. I thought one must be in the US and already working with the employer before the employer can fill EB2 (PERM) for the person. Also wondering why you are going through consular processing. Guess because you are outside the US. My question is, is it possible the employer file for the employee even before commencement of work in the US. Thanks |

This was my thought too when I saw your timeline. Anyway, na rich people dey do premium.... , as you have to pay the $2500 premium fee and attorney fee if you used one. However, some people prefer to submit themselves and use premium. I have seen someone that did this and got approved for EB1. |

NotsonewMary: Really!, which radio station is that?😂
Me gan sef I’m guilty of “casting” it by coming to start this thread to create awareness lol😂😂😂.
And the awareness is not only among Nigerians oh, you need to see how Brazil folks are also applying in large numbers.
I don’t see priority dates being current anytime soon sha and I have a feeling the they might make the requirements more stringent sef (I hear RFE rates are higher now). Already, PhD holders are beefing master’s degree holders that came to cast the whole thing for them.😀
Interesting times ahead! Fresh FM in Ibadan. You see those Brazilians ehn, it is very popular among them and they have another advantage of being more advanced than many other countries. All these could be driving the numbers there. Regarding priority dates, I think we should not expect any significant movement till VB of Jan 2024. All these are speculations though. Dont feel bad about starting the thread as the thread is doing more good than harm. I just know that no matter what, this route cant get populated like the Canada express entry, but anyway, time will tell. |

MatthewProf: From what we have heard recently in this group, November DQ received IL, not sure about December, I only speculated.
However, your forecast doesn't work that way.
See the trend for 2023 FY Oct. 2022 - 76 IL Nov. 2022 - 16 Dec. 2022 - 10 Jan. 2023 - 13 Feb. 2023 - 01 Mar. 2023 - 00 Apr. 2023 - 00 May 2023 - 00 June 2023 - 09 July 2023 - 01 Aug. 2023 - Yet to be released, but cannot > 2 Sept. 2023 - Yet to be released but should be 0
That will make the total 127 slots for EB-2 visa interviews for the 2023 FY.
More IL are issued at the beginning of the FY. So, the fewer ILs released in October to have gotten to DQ of November 2022, the better for us down the que.
E.g. if 125 ILs are released in October and November 2023, it means they can only issue 2 more ILs for the rest of the FY. What is your thought on the August 2023 visa stats. Eight ( visas were issued in Lagos for EB2 category. |

Paskalll: Yes, many residents of other countries are sent to the United States for work, but they do not take into account the peculiarities of the US immigration system and therefore this can cause problems. If you have any problems with documents or anything else, I advise you to contact immigration lawyer Olena Manilich. Because this lawyer knows exactly the features of the immigration system and will be able to help you. Who are you exactly? Fake ID advocate?

Appreciated. I think you can look around for lawyers familiar with cases of non research/academic based applicants. Better still, you can apply yourself. Go through the thread, I previously shared a link to a drive with materials to guide people to petition themselves. Best wishes |

NotsonewMary: For folks that a company filed for them (not NIW), they have to go through a PERM labor certification process. The labor certification (usually a long process) has to first be approved before they can go ahead to file their I-140 with USCIS. The priority date for these category of people is usually the date their their PERM labor certification was received by the US department of labor.
You can read more about it here: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/eta/foreign-labor/programs/permanent Thanks for the clarification. I thought it was EB2-NIW. |

I do not think you can have a PD before your petition is received. The Sept 2022 date is what exactly? Priority date (PD) is actually the date USCIS acknowledges the receipt of your petition. Therefore, if your petition was received on August 24, 2023, then I think your PD should be a day or 2 after August 24, 2023. Guess there is something I don't understand.
