Congratulations. I shall testify to the glory of God on this platform shortly. EyinjuGod: Good morning all God did it He finally made me smile after 2 rejections I’m a 3rd time time applicant and I already promised to give back to the page that gave me so much hope and inspiration.
I reapplied last year December after paying full tuition Had about 8/9M in my account as POF and I also used a sponsor as co sponsor but was rejected in Feb It was really a tough one and I didn’t tell people until about a week or 2 weeks after the rejection
I summoned courage and started putting my documents together again. I reapplied on the 30th of March after I had waited for my CGMS note and was tired of waiting. Voila, notes came out same day I reapplied. Got there notes in the afternoon and I reapplied in the morning around 4 a.m. reason for rejection was because I didn’t prove enough relationship btw sponsor
Reason for first rejection was because I was self sponsored and didn’t pay tuition and VO felt I have higher degree already but I finally got a PPR with the same admission letter
I prayed even though I felt I did justice to relationship btw sponsor on both occasions I used my uncle though. Things I did differently this time around.
I mentioned that the program is a necessity for my career and academic progression due to the specialization and also the course isn’t studied in Nigeria I added my fathers landed documents as a claim that it can be liquidated if any need for urgent funds arise. I also mentioned that I am my father’s manager and I manage all his properties here and I’ll come home from time to time to oversee it. I used my parents as home ties. Used my job that I’ll return to the job and I also Used a landed property and also used my father’s properties since I am his property manager.
I got PFL on 14th of April and I was given just 7 days to reply with evidence that I didn’t use fraudulent bank statement I was sad, worried. I had to go to bank to request for updated bank statement and I reached out to my sponsor to help with updated MBS and I got a reference letter from the bank too because my sponsor and I used same bank so I wasn’t sure of the particular statement they had issues with I attached a letter to address the PFL and possible reasons that I could think of which could have warrant the letter
I was truly scared because my research shows that PFL is usually followed by either a rejection or ban.
I kept on praying and God did it on the 4th of May And funny thing is I have been counting days to God since may 1st I’ll tell God, God, today is day 1 of May, please put a smile on my face and answer my questions
I got the first email that night because the phone was with me and I got BVL. Then the second email dropped just few mins apart and my hands were shaky. Behold, God did it Tobechukwu
This is to encourage everyone not to give up especially for those that got rejected by the embassy. Province-nova scotia School-CBU

Good morning everyone,
I have a question, please.
Is medical required for a 6 months old baby?
Can I proceed to book upfront medical for him?
I await your kind responses.
Thank you. |

I took the bank offer and now i am a full staff and have changed job 3 times afterwards. Thank you. Ibrahim94: I will advise you to take the bank job, reason being for a station manager you won't have time for yourself. As I'm typing this, I'm still at work since morning being a station supervisor. Albeit, I'm still looking for better Offer just to have time and develop myself.
Think about it. |

Congratulations CentennialGuy. It is a good thing you raised alarm immediately, igi ewedu oni wo pa wa. May canada favor you in Jesus name. CentennialGuy: Landing Gist - Lagos to Toronto Via EgyptAir. August 9 - 10, 2022.
LAGOS AIRPORT I got to the Lagos Airport around 8:30am. My flight was for 2pm. I had to give the security guys at the entrance 1k for them to allow my people go in with me. After my luggages went through the scanner, I gave the immigration officers that were suppose to do manual check after the scanner 1k so l can move on. Then I proceeded to Agriculture where I opened one of the luggage that had some food item for them to check. They checked and told me to go. Then I proceeded to EgyptAir stand.
EgyptAir didn't start on time for us because there were some Nigerians going on pilgrimage to Jerusalem via Egypt that they were attending to. They were the majority on our flight to Cairo. Anyways, by 10am I had cleared the EgyptAir check and checked in my bags. They weren't overweight. They asked for ArriveCan, Acceptance Letter, Enrollment Letter and School Fees Receipt.
By 10:30am, my people left and I proceeded to immigration. I was given yellow card by EgyptAir which I filled and I dropped with the immigration officers. Then I proceeded to the scanner where we will drop our carry on bags, laptops, phones, keys etc in a bowl to pass through the scanner. Now, I had the scariest moment of my life at this point. I shared this experience with family members only before now. I decided to share with you guys so you can learn from the experience. Always hold your Passport with you!
At the point of the scanner the immigration officer there asked us to put all our things in the bowl including our passport. It was just me and one Arab guy, possibly Lebanese. He could speak Yoruba and was dashing immigration guys money. So we placed our things in Separate bowls and I went ahead through the scanner but he didn't go through the scanner. The immigration officer asked him to come and he did manual check for him and he let him go.
So I exited the scanner to go collect my things. I wore my shoes, picked up my glasses, phones, wallet and Passport. Passport? My passport with the boarding pass was no where to be found. It was missing! At that moment, it felt like my world has ended and that village people caught up with me. I was in disarray and I started shouting. In the process of shouting, I kept saying it was me and the Arab guy that came to that point together and now my Passport is missing. One of the senior immigration officers approached me and asked me which guy. I turned round and and pointed at him just before he exited that place and be gone forever! The officer approached him. I don't know what he told him because I wasn't looking as I was still in disarray and lo and behold, my Passport and boarding pass resurfaced! The excuse I got is that he also has a Nigerian Passport and he mistakenly took mine. Yet his own passport was still with him. I don't buy that story but all good. God saved and delivered me already. I collected my Passport and left. Whew!
All through the rest of the journey, I held my Passport with me till I exited Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada.
CAIRO AIRPORT. We got to Cairo around 9pm Cairo time which is 8pm Nigerian time. The Airport is bigger and finer than MMA. A bus took us to Terminal 3 and it was a long walk combined with lift and escalators to get to gate F where will be boarding to Toronto. We waited around for another 3 hours before we started boarding and took off to Toronto around 2am. They only checked our passport, boarding pass and ArriveCan here. I showed them theArriveCan receipt on the phone as the lady in Lagos had taken the only copy I printed. It was a smooth 11.5hrs journey to Toronto. The plane is alot bigger than the one that took us from Lagos to Cairo. Comfy ride all through.
TORONTO PEARSON AIRPORT We landed in Toronto around 8am Toronto time. Now, this airport is huge. And fine and well layed out. The walk to the self service kiosk is also long but we got there. I had done my declaration ahead in the ArriveCan, so I was pretty quick at the service kiosk. I scanned my Passport, machine took my photograph and printed my receipt. We were taken to the place where will collect our study permit. Our letter of Introduction was collected and we were told to sit down. They called us one after the other. You will enter the office, the border officer will collect your passport, check your info on the system, check your visa and stamp your passport. Then your study permit will be given to you. No questions asked. I proceeded to baggage claim. When I got there, I asked one of the officers which carousel could be carrying the baggages from EgyptAir because the carousels were so many that I didn't want to be going one by one to check. He asked his colleague on his walkie talkie. He said Carousel 7, I went there. Found my bags in 7 and then in 6. Took the train within the airport to get to Terminal 3 where the car that came to get me was parked and I was on my way.
FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT ON THE FLIGHT. The food was Okay. Although the Rice, chicken and sauce from Cairo to Toronto was better than Lagos to Cairo. They served us twice Lagos to Cairo and 3 times on the flight from Cairo to Lagos. I filled my time with movies that I haven't watched before. And then a little sleep, a little prayers here and there and I didn't feel bored on the flight till we got to Toronto.
It was a great journey in general. I haven't gone out yet as I only arrived yesterday and I'm still on my bed right now. It's around 8am here. But from our drive from the airport to home, I will say Canada is beautiful. May all of us that desire it experience it all in Jesus name.
PS: Don't forget to come with your universal adapter. The picture attached is what their socket looks like. Buy the one that has USB port with it. It's about 4k.
Have a great day you all! |

Congratulations Ma. I am next to testify. ontime22: NL Family, join me thank God for great things He has done for me. I give God praise for showing himself strong on my behalf. He has granted me my heart desires. God granted my family and I our desired Canadian visas: Study Visa for me and my 2 children and a Visitor Visa for hubby. What God cannot do does not exist. I decided I was going to apply for Canadian Express entry in 2018 so I wrote IELTS in preparation but got diagnosed with Cancer towards the end of the same year. I spent better part of 2019 undergoing the treatment protocol. I read via some blogs and listened to some vlogs that said Canadian Immigration approval is not usually given to people who have had my kind of challenge and have not stayed at least 5 years after treatment. The reason they gave is that Canada would not want to approve immigration requests for immigrants that will cause excessive demand on their health care service. Downcast, I stopped pursuing my immigration plan and resolved I could as well wait out the 5 years so my IELTS expired. I was encouraged to try the student route in 2021 but I honestly didn’t know I will be required to do medicals. I thought with the Student Visa, I will pay my medical out of pocket which I was ready to do. It turned out God wanted to show me that He was and is still all powerful and will do what He wants to do. I started looking for schools in Canada around July 2021 but saw their application openings for most schools I checked were already for Fall 2022 but I wanted to relocate in January,2022 so I went ahead to get admission from 2 US schools. By December 2021, I concluded I couldn’t travel to US in January 2022 with my family at such a short time especially as we were struggling to get appropriate interview dates in December,2021. At this point, I decided to defer the admission in US and apply to Canadian Schools for Fall 2022 starts, apply for Canadian visas with my family, if we don’t get visa approvals, we will request for expedited interview date for US and head there for Fall start. Through it all, I prayed earnestly trusting God to lead us to the best place that will not mess up His plans for my family especially my kids. I applied in November, 2021 for a Masters, got admission in January, 2022. God sent me help all through. We were advised by well-meaning friends and an immigration consultant that I should pursue my visa application first before including family but my spouse didn’t agree. According to him, everyone has a story. I applied for my student visa with my family in April,2022. I was 43 years old as at the time of the Application and have worked for more than 16 years. It is important I point out the following: 1. I had not taken COVID Vaccine as at when I applied for visa and had my medical exams 2. I had an active express entry profile 3. My BP was quite high on the morning of my medical review but the Panel Physician assured me there was nothing to worry about. 4. I completed my breast cancer treatment in 2019 (less than 5 years ago). I went with my medical report when I went for the Medical Exams. The Panel Physician carefully explained to me that even though he was going to scan the medical report I came with that there was nothing to be concerned about. 5. I didn’t pay any school fees before I applied for visa because my school sent me an email that I didn’t need a deposit to secure the space. I just included this email correspondence in my application and showed through my POF that I had enough fund to cater for me and family. 6. All my siblings except only one live in either USA or Canada and are citizens of these countries including my mum. However, being a married lady, I never mentioned them in my SOP. I only put their names in one the forms I filled during the application. I built my home ties more on me and spouse’s assets and jobs in Nigeria. 7. I never sent a single email or webform before I got my approval and spouse’s approval 8. I begun sending desperate emails and webforms after my spouse and I got approvals and my 2 children’s approval didn’t come even after 12 weeks of submission. It turned out we missed including their birth certificates in their applications. IRCC sent us email to upload them via the portal I noted the above because Nos 1 to 5 were some of my worry points before I received my approval. I am writing hoping someone will find hope and relax and trust God to confirm His promises. Hi Thomyne, It is been 10 days since i did my medicals. I have not been sent any email from IOM neither was i given a slip after my medicals. Please help. Thank you. Thomsyne: Pretty easy. Go to https://mymedical.iom.int/apps/omas/#_frmHome or https://www.qlifefamilyclinic.com/cim-terms-and-conditions.
Follow the steps to book. Once you select a date, make payment at least 3 days before. Go there with your passport, appointment booking and payment receipt printout on that day.
They will give you a slip there. After medicals are done, you can upload the slip via webform or/and emails. |

Good morning Able Nairalanders, I contacted this person and Mrs. Rose, and they both confirmed that the price for police clearance has changed from 5k to 25000. How true is this? I hope i am not about to be cheated? She said it is a new thing introduced by the government to make the police clearance certificate be like like obtaining international passport. Toceen2022: Yes, you can. Contact +234 806 360 7698. She did mine and I didn't have to travel to Lagos. |

Hi covenant,
Just so you know, your worries are valid.
While ASUU is still on strike, endeavour to learn skills related to your discipline online (udemy, cousera, linkedin e.t.x)
It has been aforementioned here, you can apply for masters on scholarship to schools abroad ,especially USA if you are looking for full funding and sometimes Canada. You can work with big 4 in their headquarters or offices in abroad and not necessarily Nigeria with their ridiculous not more than 26 years by December.
I wish you well Convenant. It will surely end in praise. |

Congratulations Jeezybuck. May the land favour you. Can I have a sample of the SOP(Sshoemaking thingy) you used for the initial SOP, please? My email address is adedamolahameen@gmail.com. Thank you. jeezybuck: Please pardon me for my post, it might come with a lot of typo, I am typing this dead drunk.
My Journey started in late September, I was in my room relaxing on my bed when my wife's cousin called me from Canada to say hello. We had a long conversation and he told me it would be nice to have me and my wife around in New Brunswick. Immediately he said that something triggered me to get in on it and I did immediately.
At first, I was going to let my wife do the study thing, but for some reasons I changed my mind that I will be the one to do it.
He sent me the website of UNB but I didn't meet up with the requirements because I had 2.2, I reverted to him and he advised I checked NBCC. I checked in with NBCC, I went to get my NECO certificate, I had my Bsc certificate already and I called my friend and he applied for my transcript, it took about 3 weeks and it was delivered to me.
I applied to NBCC and the wait started, it took about 7 to 8 weeks and these guys won't say a thing, around Christmas they were sending me Christmas messages and I was happy thinking they will admit me for them to send me seasoned greetings, come 31th of December or so i got a bad breakfast, i was waitlisted for the program I applied for, i didn't know what that meant and I contacted Olaide on NL and she told me not to wait on the waitlist I should apply to other schools immediately. I summoned the courage out of desperation and I applied to three more schools namely NCSS, Canadore and Sheridan college. While I was desperate for admission I messaged Niagara college to ask about their admission. Weeks after, On this faithful day I got a call and this lady said she was calling from Niagara college, She said she has been trying to contact me for several days but my emails won't go through and they found my number. She asked about my qualification and work experience, and she told me to apply and make payment and they will review my application. This lady came like an angel and she helped follow through with my application, she was in touch with me from week to week and she assured me if I met the requirement I will get admission. Weeks after, admission came through, I paid the deposit without hesitation and a few weeks after I got 3 admissions from the schools I applied to earlier and that makes it 4 admissions.
I didn't know how else to proceed, I have been following the Canadian student visa section since late September 2021, when the time came to put my application in I contacted frank Robben but he didn't respond to my email and I noticed Makano was very active at the time and have been helpful with questions asked on the platform so I reached out to him he replied almost immediately and we talked, I felt he would be the one to write my SOP, but to my surprise, he said he can't, i have to write my story myself for him to develop on, immediately I went back to a post regarding SOP where the poster wrote a good write up about a cobler (Shoemaking narrative) I followed through and I used it as a guideline (God bless the person that wrote it). I took a notebook and I started writing, I sent back everything I wrote makano, he did his adjustments and sent it all back, I was expecting it to happen within a few days, but it took longer than I thought. Later he sent it to me and I again forwarded it to my friend for review.
Makano gave me a list of the documents to put together and how to arrange them, I couldn't meet up with everything, he advised me to use what I have. I gathered it all and it was time to submit, my documents were way over the 4 MB limit it was 30 something MB for supporting documents and about 12MB for proof of funds, i had too many pages, it took more than 2 weeks to get it down to 4 MB but i couldn't they keep coming out blurry, I had sleepless nights because of this stupid PDF thing, I couldn't go to work, Makano was telling me what and what to do to get it down and God willing I got it down.
I submitted my application on the first of March and the wait started, the evening I applied i told myself I won't let this bother me, I will continue life as usual, but that was a big lie after about the 5th day I couldn't concentrate any longer all my thought was around my application as this Canadian journey determines my going forward with life. I couldn't function any longer, I couldn't concentrate on my work, I was just in a fix and I didn't know how to proceed, I check my email at least 100 times a day ( i am not exaggerating) I realized this Canadian journey is not for the faint-hearted. I struggled to get by from day today
One thing I appreciate most about Makano is his encouragement and he is always checking in, he keeps messaging me to ask how far with my application if there is any update, I tell him baba everything is still the same since the last time.
Just yesterday he was the one who contacted me again to ask if there is any update and I told him no, he asked if my application is up to 13 weeks I told him yesterday makes it 12 weeks, and he said to wait 2 more weeks before I start firing them mails and webform.
Today happened to be another rough day as it has always been, my school called but I didn't take the call they were going to ask about my application and I don't want anyone adding salt to my wound so I didn't pick the call, after I got a mail from the school I just ignored it. I was busy drinking my bullet when I saw a mail icon on my phone I opened it up and it was from IRCC. Immediately i was sweating from head to toe, my balls were soaked in sweat, I chatted with my wife immediately to express my fears and let her know I got a mail from IRCC she encouraged me to log in and check.
My people I opened it and I got the best mail of my life "Original Passport Request", I went berserk i was crying like a baby, I called my wife to share the news with her and again I called Makano he didn't pick. I cried like a baby for soooooo long, I wasn't crying because I had tears to shed I was crying because i didn't believe what the Lord has done for me.
What God cannot do does not exist, God will come for all of us.
To every expectant, it will happen by the special grace of God, to those that have been delayed please do not give up, fire on and do it all over again.
A big thank you to God, Makano, Frank, Just Mellow, Anon, Lekkiboboe, Showyoung, Teemenzo (went quiet), Osemigbo I can't really spell it, and the rest I can't remember their names God bless us all. You have no idea how helpful you all have been on this thread, God will reward you all in beautiful ways.
