Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs South Korea: 2 - 2 @ World Cup 2010, June 22 by adejonny: 9:38am On Jun 19, 2010
Nigeria will qualify for the second round through the back door. Kaita send off is a blessing in disguise as we will now have proper right winger in subsequent games.

As long as the clueless Lagerback does not go defensive, we will edge past the SKOs.

Call me a dreamer but we are going through to defeat Uruguay in the the last 16 and anything can happen from there. What ever happens, please NFF give the coaching of the Super Eagles to Siasia/Keshi at the end of the world cup.
Sports / Re: Urgent Message For Lagerback For The Greece Match by adejonny: 12:55am On Jun 17, 2010
Kenny G, If you have analysed the Greece team, you will notice that their defense is shaky. Also going forward they are not very great. our only hope of qualifying is getting a good goal advantage over South Korea and this formation will deliver that.

We don't need two defensive midfielders in this game it must be attack driven.
Sports / Urgent Message For Lagerback For The Greece Match by adejonny: 8:53pm On Jun 16, 2010
Dear Lagerback,

Well done for some improvements in the super eagles against Argentina despite losing.

We still have a great chance to progress to the next round but we must beat Greece by at least 2 goals difference. The formation that that will deliver the victory is 4-3-3. Please send Keita to the defensive midfield and stop using him in the right midfield. Here is the formation you need to beat the Greeks convincingly:

Enyeama

Odiah Yobo Shittu/Adeleye Taiwo (if fit)

Keita

Haruna Uche

Osaze Martins

Yakubu

Instruct Uche to cover for Taiwo whenever he overlaps, Kanu can replace uche if we are atleast 2 goals ahead and Obasi for Osazee in the 65th mins.
Haruna need to be instructed to play upfront.

Ziga,

There are so many qualified Nigerians and Niger Deltans to occupy such positions. It is not new, in the UK you dont get a work permit to do a job that a British can do. A company must prove that they could not find a suitably qualified British to do the job before the Home Office can approve hiring a non EU. - It is thesame thing. I have worked in the Nigeria Ol industry wih lots of oyibos, some of them are college graduate and they come to manage me with MEng, now I manage them in thier own country

Signing the bill is the right thing to do

There are indications that the Islamic clerics who visited Yar-Adua actually saw a Yaradua look alike ( after many series of plastic surgery). The so called Yar- Adua has been practicing how to speak like the actual one. He can not actually do that so well hence the news that Yar-Adua he has lost his speech and cant speak well according to the Imam. The game plan is to bring the clonned yaradua to the public soon who will claim to be yaradua but when questioned on his speech they will claim he lost his voice and still regaining it.

How desperate can Turai and her northern allies be. (Nigerian is not your personal property Turai, please let our ex-president go respectfully).

Sports / NFF sacks Amodu, may have appointed Henry Wojciech Kasperczak by adejonny: 11:14am On Feb 06, 2010
Nigeria have sacked coach Shaibu Amodu despite the team's third-place finish at this year's Africa Cup of Nations.

It is the second time the 51-year-old has been removed from his post ahead of a World Cup finals tournament.

The decision was taken after a late-night meeting of the Nigerian Football Federation in Abuja.

Dutchman Guus Hiddink, currently Russia's coach, is among those on a shortlist of preferred candidates to replace Amodu.

Earlier this week, Egypt coach Hassan Shehata claimed he had been approached by Nigeria to lead them at the World Cup later this year, while Zambia boss Herve Renard says he has been approached by several other African teams.

Amodu was in his fourth stint as national coach, having also managed Nigeria from 1994-95, 1998-99 and 2001-02.

He was also fired ahead of the 2002 World Cup finals after Nigeria again finished third at the African Nations Cup.

He returned to the role in 2008 having ended a spell as manager of Nigerian Premier League side Sharks FC three years earlier.

The Super Eagles boss was under intense pressure going into the African Cup of Nations in Angola, with calls from several quarters for him to be fired.

Despite guiding Nigeria to the semi-finals the team's style of play, his tactics and key decision-making were all questioned during the tournament.

The Super Eagles lost 1-0 to Ghana in the final four but beat Algeria by the same scoreline to secure third place.

The NFF must now move swiftly to recruit a new coach with the World Cup finals in South Africa just over four months away.

Nigeria are in Group B along with Argentina, Greece and South Korea, with their opening match against the Argentines on 12 June in Johannesburg.

NFF media officer Idah Peterside said: "The technical committee of the federation has been mandated to have a new man in place by the end of the month."

Other names in the frame are thought to include former England caretaker manager Peter Taylor, Bruno Metsu, who coached Senegal to the 2002 World Cup quarter-finals, and Ratomir Dujkovic, Ghana's coach at the last World Cup in Germany.

Amodu, meanwhile, has been given the task of overseeing Nigeria's home-based players for the new African Nations Champions tournament, a competition for players who play their club football in Africa.

Peterside added: "He will be in charge of talent identification and finding players for the future."   BBC News

"It was learnt that the board finally settled for former Tunisian coach, Henry Wojciech Kasperczak, a Polish football manager and former player.

But the decision to settle for Kasperczak, it was learnt, is not going down well with some of the board members who felt that Amodu should have been allowed to stay on, having met his mandate by helping Nigeria to qualify for the World Cup and taking the Eagles as far as the semi-final at the just concluded Angola 2010 Nations Cup."  Guardian Newspaper

My dream comes through.

How to trash Ghana:

                                                              Enyeama

                                       Odiah          Shittu        Echiejile          Taiwo

                                                                Ayila

                                                   Mikel                           Uche(Kanu, 80mins)

                                 Obasi(Nsorfor, 60mins)                                Osaze

                                                                  Martins (Yakubu, 75mins)

Either Taiwo is instructed never to cross the center line or Ayila is instructed to cover for Taiwo when he overlaps . Osaze and Obasi to regularly  fall back to midfield when defending.

Politics / Nigerian Senators & Law Maker - You Have Failed Us by adejonny: 7:59pm On Jan 11, 2010
I am angry and dissappointed with those senators and law makers for the way they have been silent about the way Yar Adua kitchen cabinet and Turai have be making a fool of evey Nigerian. Nearly 50 days the president is no where to be found, no one can say he/she has seen him, If he could sign a budget and speak to VP and senate presidet as they said for about 5mins each, then He could have wished Nigerians a happy new year for 2mins. With all the rumours of his death, or brain death and counter rumours of his amazing recovery and soon return to Nigeria, the so called wife can not say anything.

Enough is enough, we cannnot continue to be fooled. Just today the Norther Ireland prime minister Peter Robinson is to step down as Northern Ireland First Minister for six weeks amid the storm over his wife's private life and finances. Yet a (terminally) ill president canot hand over power to his vice till he is fit again. Yet people we have elected to represent us sit there in silence and are scared to speak - what a shame

Politics / Plane Bomber (mutallab) Was Recruited In London Afterall by adejonny: 1:31pm On Jan 07, 2010
The alleged US plane bomber met radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen, after being recruited in London, a senior Yemeni official has said.

Last week US security official John Brennan said there were "indications" of direct contact between the two men.

Mr Awlaki was linked to an attack by a US army major on the Fort Hood base in November, in which 13 people died.

Yemeni Deputy PM Rashad al-Alimi also said bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab used explosives from Nigeria not Yemen.

Mr Abdulmutallab was indicted by a US grand jury on six counts on Wednesday.

Mr Abdulmutallab allegedly tried to detonate a bomb on Northwest flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit, but the plane landed safely after crew and passengers overpowered him.

In a separate development, Mr Alimi said that five Germans including three children and a Briton kidnapped in Yemen six months ago are still alive.

He said northern Shia rebels were co-operating with al-Qaeda over the kidnap.

Sports / Martins Makes Final Squad, Obasi Dropped by adejonny: 8:26pm On Jan 01, 2010
Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins has been included in his country's 23 man team for this month's Africa Cup of Nations.

Coach Shaibu Amodu had delayed naming his final squad while Martins' fitness was assessed.

Martins, who plays for Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga, recently had surgery on a shin injury.

It means Hoffenheim striker Chinedu Obasi is the player dropped from Coach Amodu's final list of players.

Joseph Yobo, Danny Shittu and Yusuf Mohammed who are also recovering from long-term injuries are in the team too.

They join Portsmouth striker Nwankwo Kanu who is set to make his sixth appearance at the biennial tournament.

Nigeria is going to Angola with a team made up completely of foreign based players.

The Super Eagles begin their Group C campaign against defending champions Egypt on 12 January before taking on Benin and then Mozambique.

Nigeria's squad list:

Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama (Hapoel Tel Aviv, Israel) Bamidele Aiyenugba (Bnei Yehuda, Israel) Austin Ejide (unattached)

Defenders: Joseph Yobo (Everton, England), Danny Shittu (Bolton, England) , Obinna Nwaneri and Yusuf Mohammed (both FC Sion, Switzerland) Taye Taiwo (Marseille, France) Elderson Echiejile (Rennes, France), Chidi Odiah (CSKA Moscow, Russia), Onyekachi Apam (Nice, France).

Midfielders: Nwankwo Kanu (Portsmouth, England), John Mikel Obi (Chelsea, England), Dickson Etuhu (Fulham, England) Sani Kaita (Lokomotiv Moscow, Russia) Yusuf Atanda Ayila (Dynamo Kiev, Ukraine), Oluwaseyi George Olofinjana (Hull City, England), Kalu Uche (Almeria, Spain).

FIFA Confirms Over Age Players
From Christian Okpara, Abuja

World Football governing body, FIFA, yesterday in Abuja confirmed that there were players over the age limit participating at the on-going Nigeria 2009 Under-17 World Cup.

Speaking during a world press conference at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, said the MRI test conducted on the players at the competition indicated that most of the players were over 17 years, adding that the average age of the teams in Nigeria was 18 years.

He, however, added that FIFA would not take any action against any team for fielding players above 17 years.

He said, "From the medical point of view the MRI test is the best way of finding out the true ages of players in age group competitions. Our organization is based on trust, discipline and respect for the laws of the game.

"We have to trust our national associations to eradicate things like cheating in competitions because at the end of the day the associations stand to gain from doing the right thing. We have started trusting African associations by bringing more competitions to the continent. We in FIFA have confidence in Africa. But if we cannot trust the associations to do things the way they should then we have to look into ways of getting it bright."

Blatter reiterated belief in age group competition serving as the nursery for future international stars, adding that the body would look at the competition properly after Nigeria 2009 with a view to finding a fool proof method of ensuring that every association adhered strictly to the rules.

Blatter disclosed that FIFA held a meeting yesterday where the issue of cheating was discussed, adding that "we are taking the issue to the technical committee to see how we can manage the situation so that it does not disrupt our programmes of development. Our aim is that players will graduate from the under-17 level through under-20 and under23 to the senior cadre. But we need the associations' help in achieving this.

"The issue of over age players is closed; we are not going to look at it again. Countries like Nigeria are responsible for their players and if they have said that all the players are eligible then we will accept their word for that."

Where did you get your data for. I have been to a lot of campuses in Nigeria and Deeperlife campus fellowship (DLCF) and CU/NiFES have the largest numbers across the country. I happen to have attended DLCF in my campus days and that was the best decision i have ever taken. By God,s grace I am on top of my career in Europe and stand out every where i have been. Thanks to those years of training in DLCF. ALthough am no longer there after I left uni but there is no place or church that stands and preaches the whole truth to the whole world like deeperlife does. People may make all comments they like now, the day of recogning is coming were shall know who is right. ThanksGod the church is still standing and will continue to stand.
