I've been using my registered Airtel sim for about two years without any issue. I got a message from Airtel notifying me to re-register and win #5,000 Airtime. Spent money on T-Fare o plus the crowd in their Shoprite office was too much and I had to stand for over an hour. Finally got it registered only for them to send me #100 pere. I felt so cheated. Why the lie now? .... Then it happened... Airtel finally fulfilled her promise. #5,000 worth of airtime got in. You can imagine the joy.

Adamu the shepherd and Usman his brother were keeping vigil that night. Three sheep had gone missing two days earlier and another four the previous day; they've had enough of the cattle rustlers. 'Usman!' Adamu called out over the half empty bottle of locally brewed gin he had been sipping to keep himself alert. Usman responded with a loud yawn and a weak nod, he was very tired. 'If I see am pur anything wey I move, shoot am.' Adamu blurted. Usman perfectly understood what that meant; it was a shoot-at-sight order. He jerked back to full consciousness and picked up his bow (this time more determined), he counted the arrows in the quiver for the umpteenth time: seven, same as the last time. An orchestra suddenly started. The cows mooed and the sheep bleeted all accompanied by the quick taps of hoofs and the locking of horns. "Walahi I don come!" Usman shouted "Na flenty flenty feofle I carry come" Adamu added Adamu who is also a Civilian JTF repeated his age long life code 'mutu kare' meaning die defending). "Harba a wurin!" he screamed at Usman. It was the shoot-at-sight order. Usman swiftly fixed one of the arrows from the quiver to the bow, "Harba a wurin!" He repeated to himself. Adamu already had his dagger drawn and they both moved towards the cattle in James Bond style. Suddenly, they saw two great lights. The lights were so bright that Adamu dropped his dagger and shielded his face with his hands. Usman was already on the floor; he wasn't sure how he got there, what happened to his arrow, what would happen next, he wasn't sure of anything. He thought of their sister Zainab, his Yoruba girlfriend Salewa and his eastern customer Chukwudi. "Ina fatan za ku kasance m" Usman uttered (Meaning 'I hope it won't be painful') as he thought of the cold hands of death. The lights turned out to be angels, and they delivered their message in Warri standard pigin English. "Bros, make una no shake. Na jolly jolly news I carry come give una. No be for only una but every every wey de obodo Naija and obodo oyinbo join. The people wey waka for darkness don see light, people wey join body dey suffer don escape. Make una standa gidigba see the better wey God carry come give una." "E get one pikin wey dem just born now now; that pikin na the bonaza wey God carry dash all the bobo and baby wey dey this zone. This pikin go become king, he go siddon control every every and im government go tontorin our belle as e no go do magomago, anything wey e talk and do na confirmento! That pikin wey una see so, he be God." The angels disappeared. Adamu and Usman got up; they had totally forgotten about the cattle rustlers, they set out to look for this boy and they found him in the manger wrapped in swaddling clothes in the hands of his virgin mother. So these shepherds started the Yokoto dance. A biblical allusion.

The Difference Between Knowledge and Skills Knowledge is information acquired through sensory input: Reading, watching, listening, touching, etc. The concept of knowledge refers to familiarity with factual information and theoretical concepts. Knowledge can be transferred from one person to another or it can be self acquired through observation and study. Skills, however, refer to the ability to apply knowledge to specific situations. Skills are developed through practice, through a combination of sensory input and output. As an example, social skills are developed through interaction with people by observing, listening, and speaking with them. Trial and error is probably the best way to achieve skills mastery. To make it simple, knowledge is theoretical and skills are practical. You can know all the rules of a sport, know all the teams and all players, know all the statistics, but this only makes you knowledgeable about this sport; it does not make you any good at it. To become good at a sport you must play it, practice its techniques, and improve your skills through experience. You don’t need to know all the teams or all the players to practice a sport and you can easily learn the rules as you play, through trial and error. The same applies to a job: One can know a lot about a subject matter, but might not have the skills required to apply that knowledge to specific tasks, since knowledge does not provide skills. However, developing skills normally provides some knowledge, as practicing those skills results in sensory inputs. As an example, an aerospace engineer may know a lot about avionics and flight theory, but this alone does not make him an aircraft pilot. On the other end, an aircraft pilot only requires a minimal level of knowledge about avionics and flight theory in order to be able to fly the plane, and this knowledge will continue to increase as he gains experience flying a simulator or an actual plane. Developing Skills Therefore, if you want to better prepare individuals to meet a desired performance, they don’t need more lectures. What they need is more practice. The production of more presentations and more page turners will only make people more knowledgeable; it will not provide them with skills to better do their job. Seems logical, no? Why then are so many learning professionals still addressing performance gaps with lectures, online presentations, or other theoretical content? In order for people to achieve a desired performance at a task they must be provided with opportunities to perform the actions required so they can improve their performance at this task until they master it. While a lot of what is actually called training is basically nothing more than information dump, no surprise that such training programs fail to deliver results. Training should be about activities, scenarios, and simulation. When training is about lectures, presentations, and quizzes we end up with individuals who know a lot of things but can’t do much with it. Of course skills can be developed more easily if one has prior knowledge of the task to be accomplished: Learning to fly a plane through trial and errors without having a slight idea about how planes fly may be quite risky, but theory should be limited to the minimum required to be able to perform the task. You cannot learn how to drive a car without knowing where the accelerator and brake pedals are. However, the best way to learn the effects of acceleration and brakes is not to read about it, but to actually experience it. Practice is the only way to develop skills: The more you do something, the better you get at doing it. http://elearningindustry.com/difference-between-knowledge-and-skills-knowing-not-make-skilled |

I still remember Agbo lives in the town of Lagoon which is not far from Ibadan. His father bought him a wrist watch and he was very proud of it. i still remember he woke up late that morning but can't figure out the rest of the gist. |
So happy for him. He's got his career on track at 20.
I just hope those sadists in Ife are reading this. |
That Buhari is aged is no news and these errors are never a surprise. We were simply left with no option when the young and better educated scholars fumbled just as much. Even if PMB will fail, let's give him a fair chance to proove he is a failure. |
Hello Nairalanders! I know a couple of teenagers roaming about the street and whenever I try to question their exodus, they all seem to have the same chorus "I am waiting for admission". So by some miracle, some of them were sponsored and they were able to obtain forms for the 2014 UTME. The sad gist is none of them even made up to 200 although they were making around that range. So I concluded that this year, I wasn't going to waste more money on forms unless they all attend UTME coaching classes. Then the excuses started flowing... "I don't have money" "I don't have time" "I'm an apprentice somewhere, my boss won't allow me." The excuses continued... But they were all good excuses and I felt really helpless. But I soon stormed on this facebook page www.facebook.com/roducate and I saw that there is a mobile app endorsed by JAMB which contains curriculum based lecture notes, mock exams, schoolarship opportunities, revision videos and more... I was greatly impressed. But the question is: "will these teenagers use this app "

Greatest Nairalanders, Its nice havinig u all back again I want to say congratulations to as many that as made Ofafemi Awolowo University their first/second choice in the just concluded UME examination. Here are some gists for you; As far as you score up to 200 in your UME, you are qualified to write the Post Ume which will come up between june and july. However, be reminded that your post ume score will not be used as your aggregate score when considering the cut-off mark but you must score not less than 200 in you post ume. Also be reminded that hardly is there any faculty or department in OAU that accept student who choose them for second choice. OAU post ume is just like your UME but an intresting thing about OAU is that they repeat their questions a lot even more than WAEC or any other examination body but you can only get the past questions on OAU campus. As soon as there is any information on post ume-- registration, checking of results and the like, it will be on eportal.oauife.edu.ng. Feel free to call 07037996027 for any information or visit oluwaseyi.wetpaint.com, drop your questions, ideas, or informations on the wikki . Yours always, ADELAFACE
