Education / Re: Four Terrible Mistakes Graduates Must Avoid That Will Save Them From Begging by Adelakstaichi(m): 12:24pm On Jul 07, 2021
Have you ever thought about what the future holds for Nigerian Students especially Fresh Graduates? Take a minute and just think about it.

Every time I see Secondary school students, my heart bleeds. And I am wondering how all of these people are going to get jobs when they finish school.

Interestingly the Nigerian Student covers more than 50% of the Nigerian Population. Graduates are churned out from Nigerian Universities in their thousands yearly. Nigeria's unemployment rate has grown worse since the Buhari Administration step into office.
The report has it that there are 308-degree awarding institutions in Nigeria out of which 134 are polytechnics and 174 universities. Now, all of these institutions admit about 2 Million people annually and only 600,000 graduates each year.
Here is the shock, from the report; I discovered that these 600,000 graduates contribute to the 25 Million unemployed graduates in Nigeria. Please feel free to Google this information online.
Just in 2014, we had 520,000 graduates storm recruitment centers to apply for 4000 vacant positions in the Nigeria Immigration Service. Can you imagine that? And this happens every time.
To make matters worse, 16 people died in the stampede on that day.
My pain is, if we don't see this as a serious problem that needs to be addressed immediately, that means we are ready for serious poverty in this country.
.
The reason I am talking about this is that when I and my course mates graduated from Covenant University in 2013, we faced similar issues in the labor market. But I quickly found out many of us were making four terrible mistakes at the time of our graduation. And these are mistakes even you can easily make or you are already making.
Here are the mistakes and how to correct them:

1. The assumption that once you graduate, you are going to get a job: This is the biggest lie of this century. Even our Uncles and Lecturers who promised some of us a Job after school has failed to uphold their promises. The Nigerian Economy strategically positioned by the past and the present administration is designed to keep people unemployed. And you know why? So youths can be easily manipulated with the money they throw all around.

2. The assumption that your certificate will feed you: I am sorry this is one of those mistakes, but many graduates today are not using their certificates at all. They tried to but couldn't use it. So the earlier you delete this assumption from your mind the better for you. What will eventually feed you is what you can do. Organizations want people that know what to do in every situation; they are less concerned with your degree. Can you provide a solution to a problem? Then you will feed well.

3. The third mistake Fresh graduates make and this is for those working. Graduates forget that their new job is supposed to fund their dream careers. This happens a lot. I have seen people spend 30 years in a job they didn't like and regretted they didn't take a step out to pursue their dream. People get into a job and because of how they have suffered before getting one, their whole plan of getting their dream career changes. All because of the salary they get monthly. This is the worst and most common mistake with graduates today.

4. Fresh graduates who save money for the rainy days: Now I am not against saving. In fact, saving is one of the bedrock of building wealth. But the problem is, graduates, fail to understand the purpose of saving money. I personally believe that the purpose of saving money for any graduate today is so they can invest same in building valuable skills that will increase their worth. The more valuable you are in the marketplace, the more money anyone will pay you to help them. Nothing is wrong with saving money for that fine dress you have always wanted but also save money so you can attend courses that will help you build skills and capacity the world really needs today. There are valuable courses online and offline that cost as low as N10,000 and as high as N100,000 that can help you do that. These were courses that even helped many graduates today own their businesses. This I believe should be the main purpose for saving as a fresh graduate.

Now is here is why I wrote this article. I know and am sure you will also agree with me, that the rate of unemployment in Nigeria will continue to go worse. Because the numbers of graduates these days are more than ten times the available jobs today. My concern is to ensure that you are not part of those that will be affected.

This is why you can actually start to plan your way out of unemployment. This free video explains the skills you can build up immediately to escape unemployment especially when you graduate.

Properties / Re: Top Three Richest Men In Imo State That No One Can Argue by Adelakstaichi(m): 5:51pm On Aug 24, 2020
Adelakstaichi:
Do you know Imo State contributes 14.24 Billion Dollars to Nigeria's economy? The state has been economically strengthened because of its rich natural resources
.
However, the top three richest men in Imo State have little or no connection to these resources as the source of their wealth clearly speaks for itself
.
Let's take a look at these men and what they do. Shall we?
.
1. Pascal Dozie
Pascal Dozie is a Nigerian Investment and Business Leader. He is the founder and chairman of the popular now-defunct Diamond Bank. He also established African Development Consulting Group and Kunoch Limited. Interestingly Kunoch Limited is a holding co.pang with subsidiaries in the Construction industry, Hotels, Automobile and Trading industry. The Patriarch is the richest man in Imo State. His son Uzoma is the founder and CEO of Sparkle Nigeria (a digital financial platform). Pascal Dozie hails from Egbu Village in Owerri.
2. Tony Ezenna
Tony Ezenna is the second on our list. He is the founder and CEO of Orange Drugs, the company known for products like Delta Soap, Devon Soap, and Boska. Tony Ezenna hails from Owerri Akokwa

3. Leo Stan Ekeh( my favorite maybe because he is a big player in the tech industry ). The Technology giant is the second on our list. He is the Chairman and CEO of Zinox Technologies Limited and Buyright Africa Dotcom Limited. Interestingly also, he bought Konga.com through his son's company Yudala in February 2018. That's why we saw Konga brand color suddenly turned to purple . But the most common thing about this three is their love for Investment, Leo Stan Ekeh started in Zinox in 2001, Tony Ezenna after 13 years apprenticeship with his father left to start his own drug business, funny enough he dropped out of school at a tender age, Pascal Dozie also quit his job in East Africa to start ADCG
.
And of course, they have tonnes of real estate investment in their name..You can join the league of richest men in Owerri by doing what they did and that is Investing .

This is why you should invest as soon as possible in Pearl Villas Owerri just locates about 10 mins from Owerri Town. Plot sizes is 464Sqm and available for instant allocation.
The price for this estate goes for N3 Million but the Promo price is currently at N2.7 Million and with this, you can pay N100,000 initial deposit and spread balance in 6 Months.

Also, buy 3 Plots (464sqm) and Get 1 plot free. grin

Hello guys

My name is Taiwo Riches, a real estate consultant, and an Entrepreneur here in Lagos Nigeria.

I am sure you would be wondering why I am posting this on Nairaland. Well, I am a salesman and I love to interact with people and also everybody loves Nairaland just like I do too grin

I know we are all busy trying to sell, but I'll like to take just a few minutes of your time as you read this piece.

I don't know if you know what is called an Investment Playbook? Well just like it sounds, your playbook for investment.

You see sir, every wealthy man has an investment playbook, I mean true riches not stolen money ooo, forgive my manners. But yes an investment playbook is simply a portfolio of how you play your investment game.

So the question is, do you have one?

Maybe you do, but I wonder if you are playing the investment game well. Because until you have a landed property in Lagos, forget it your investment playbook is weak cool.

And if you do have a property in Lagos, I would want you to consider buying more because an investment playbook in real estate is solid when you have more properties than less. Bro, it's in the volume, bro !!! listen bro !!!, believe me, it's in the volume grin grin grin

Interestingly, we have eleven properties around ibeju lekki Lagos with plot sizes of 600sqm in a proposed estate that can spark up your investment playbook. I mean we are not just talking about the new Lagos, we are talking about investing in real assets that can generate rental income in the future shocked. Rental income? , Lol that's another investment playbook strategy on its own grin

So take a look at this link by clicking and make a choice of your own https://www.dropbox.com/s/h9rmr0ve7x0z4wz/Real%20Estate%20Investment%20Document.pdf?dl=0

Thank you for your time.
I hope I didn't take too much of it. Cheers

Bro, there are solutions to every challenges of life. Flooding will not be an issue in Ibeju Lekki. Good drainage system are part of the responsibility of the Lagos State Government. Which is why the Government is equal to the task ahead but they won't move until we move. Look closely at the major developments of areas in Lagos, the government only move when people begin to exploit new territories. One man is putting almost 60 billion dollars in one area in Ibeju Lekki for a refinery that will produce 650,000 barrels of oil per day and the only problem someone else can see is FLOODING ISSUE, the rich don't see a problem, instead they see opportunities grin grin grin

Lagos with Traffic...you can get robbed inside that same traffic.. I have seen people doze off inside that same traffic... I can only visit lagos on a business visa only.. or perhaps i can get a job that i can do from home only.. like an I.T tech guy.. Design website, manage them, you know basically something you stay on your pc and deliver various services to clients..
Baba you are right and if you want to live in Lagos, think Ibeju Lekki, the new frontiers of development in Lagos

Thanks brother , every business comes with a risk.. real estate is still the best. Some bought lands blindly years back today big companies want those lands begging them with millions ..wise ones opt to lease the land to them only. Oh God open our eyes to see opportunities around us in Nigeria..amennnnnnnnnn
