Somebody who have had the interview should please help me clear my doubt, I am 25 years of age. I applied for the job with my real age and got shortlisted for the test. Wrote and passed the test with a skeptical mind. Now seeing the CV template with DOB written boldly, I have a reservation about me being considered. Does any one think it would wok against me? Should I go ahead for the panel interview or don't bother. Really, I didn't see the age thing when I was applying. I need someone talk to me on this. thank you |

bigdrey: please advice!!! i also got the invitation at lagos, but im currently at the nysc orientation, oyo state. i want to know if i should write a letter for permission and go for the test , or I should not borther myself looking at the fact that I av not completed my nysc and I don't know if that alone will disqualify me. Or I don't know if maybe I mail them they can postpone my test date. Hey, dont bother, even if you pass the test you wont be considered, cos NYSC cert mean so much to them before the release of the result Talking from experience...I stand to be corrected though |

I wrote the test last year, I was so very sure I did excellent well. It was actually the simplest job test I've written and too bad I wasn't shortlisted after the test stage, although I was still serving then. For those who proceeded to the next stage last year, could that be a reason? |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Shell Graduate Recruitment 2014 by adelawry(m): 10:28pm On Oct 26, 2014 |
dest4real: I didn't receive a regret message!
The numerical part was stuff for me too!
The outcome of your part two (2) should be out by now....how far? how many questions did you answer and is there a trick to the decision making questions? What advise can you give to someone who is yet to take this phase of the assessment. Thanks |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2013 Shell Recruitment Day Application For Fresh Graduates by adelawry(m): 9:50pm On Oct 26, 2014 |
bigfrancis21: Yes, there is indeed a special way of answering the test. Its all about using your common sense to answer the questions. You ARE NOT expected to finish all the questions because they that set the questions know the time given isn't enough to finish the test. The test is simply all about accuracy and, precision with the numbers you answered. Answer only the ones you know and leave the rest. Someone who answers only 10 out of 20 and gets 10 correctly will be selected over you who rushed to answer all 20 questions just to feel good that 'you answered everything' but got 10 and failed 10. This is because the first person will be taken as more accurate and precise and would be assumed to have gotten all 20 questions had he more time, compared to you who answered all 20 but failed as many as 10 questions.
During my time I'm not sure I even answered up to 10 questions out of the 20 given in the math section(I think I answered 9) but those 10 I answered I was very sure of and on completion of the test I got an email that I was successful and had made it to the next round.
Its is a simple trick they use to weed out the smart ones from the entire lot but many keep falling for their trap by rushing to answer everything and end up getting bungled out in the first round. pls are you sure it is only based on the numerical test. I mean being successful at the part 2 phase of the assessment. The decision making aspect has a lot to contribute here. Cos I got a regret last year after the numerical test, though I was just able to solve 4 or 5 questions correctly. I want to know if there is a logic behind the decision making aspect or what one needs to know. Thanks |
