And i started thinking is black not beautiful anymore, should anyone have any reason to bleach again after what happened to the great pop Icon Micheal Jackson (RIP)?
Does bleaching makes people more beautiful and unique?
Does it make people healthier or Less ?
Please I need some answers. sad

Politics / Malaysian Plane Shot Down, 295 Feared Dead by AdelokikiMr(m): 8:10pm On Jul 18, 2014
A Malaysia Airlines passenger jet which crashed as it flew over eastern Ukraine with 295 people on board was reportedly shot down, Al Jazeera reports.

The aircraft, which was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was travelling at an altitude of 10,000 metres when it was shot down on Thursday, Russia’s Interfax reported.

An adviser to the Ukrainian interior ministry told the news agency the Boeing 777 was brought down by a Buk ground-to-air missile.

Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko denied his armed forces were involved in the downing of the airliner.

“Armed Forces of Ukraine did not take action against any airborne targets,” Poroshenko said.

Malaysian Airlines confirmed it had lost contact with flight MH17 from Amsterdam, saying the aircraft was carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew on board.

“Malaysia Airlines confirms it received notification from Ukrainian ATC that it had lost contact with flight MH17 at 1415 (GMT) at 30km from Tamak waypoint, approximately 50km from the Russia-Ukraine border.

“Flight MH17 operated on a Boeing 777 departed Amsterdam at 12.15pm (Amsterdam local time) and was estimated to arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 6.10 am (Malaysia local time) the next day,” the statement said.

Malaysia’s Prime Minister reacted on Twitter saying: “I am shocked by reports that an MH plane crashed. We are launching an immediate investigation.”

A flight tracking website showed that one flight path was interrupted in Ukraine. The plane appeared to have come down in a region of military action where Ukrainian government forces are battling pro-Russian separatists.

A separate unnamed source in the Ukrainian security apparatus, quoted by Interfax, said the plane disappeared from radar at a height of 10,000 metres after which it came down near the town of Shakhtyorsk.

Al Jazeera’s Rory Challands, reporting from Moscow, said the plane fell in an area controlled by pro-Russian separatists.

“The investigation would be very difficult given that it’s controlled by the rebels,” he said. “Ukrainian officials are saying that many children were dead. Some are saying that all died. Reuters is reporting that body parts were found at the scene. It seems that it was a very gruesome scene.”

Airplane manufacturer Boeing released a statement expressing sympathy to those affected by the crash.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those on board the Malaysia Airlines airplane lost over Ukrainian airspace, as well as their families and loved ones. Boeing stands ready to provide whatever assistance is requested by authorities,” the statement read.

Prior to Thursday’s Malaysian Airlines crash, a Ukrainian SU-25 attack plane was taken down by an air-to-air missile according Andriy Lysenko, a spokesman for Ukraine’s national defence and Security Council. The pilot safely ejected.

Politics / Re: Reject Jonathan's $1b Loan Femi Falana Tells National Assembly by AdelokikiMr(m): 7:48pm On Jul 18, 2014
As For me I would say Nigerians must at this point decide their own fate and put an end to this pathetic and incompetent administration. How can this president be asking Nigerians for any amount when there is no proof that all the almost N1 trillion naira spent on defense has yield anything positive but hopeless military, Boko Haram, kidnappers, and treasury looters along with incompetent generals. This man should be forced out of office by all means before the Boko Haram, kidnappers, and armed robbers destroy our country. How can you be seeking $1 billion to fight Boko Haram when you cannot show any progress with
all the monies committed already to fight the war. Any competent Commander-in-Chief could have destroyed Boko Haram and their political allies within 18 months. If you have a capable army and competent advisers, you can destroy Boko Haram within a month. You know where they are along with their primitive war tactics. Put N50 to N100 million bounties on the head of each of the Boko Haram leaders dead or alive. I can assure you, people will turn them and their sympathizers in and Nigeria will be peaceful again. We will do whatever is necessary to end this pathetic mess

Politics / Reject Jonathan's $1b Loan Femi Falana Tells National Assembly by AdelokikiMr(m): 7:43pm On Jul 18, 2014
A National Conference delegate, Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, has asked the National Assembly to reject the request made by President Goodluck Jonathan, asking for the Assembly’s approval for a $1bn loan to aid the war against the Islamic sects, Boko Haram.

Falana said the President must explain what he had been doing with the budgets made for defence in the past few years.

He said, “The request made by President Jonathan for approval of the Senate for a loan of $1 bn to fight the menace of the Boko Haram sect should be rejected in its entirety. Between 2010 and 2013 over N3tn was budgeted for defence.

“Under the Appropriation Bill signed into law on May 23 this year, 20 per cent of the entire federal budget i.e. the sum of N968.127bn out of N4.962tn was earmarked for defence. The Senate should find out what happened to the defence budget in the middle of the year to warrant a supplementary budget of N160bn.”

Similarly, another Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Yusuf Alli, said the request by the President had created a state of uncertainty as he had yet to be fully aware of all the parameters for the request.

He urged the National Assembly to be sure there was a need for it before approving it.

He said, “I am sure they should be sure that there is a need for it before they will approve it. One does not possess all the parameters for asking for the loan, so one is a bit in a quandary. One does not have all the factors that have been considered.

“But one wants to believe that the National Assembly will be given all the facts to do the correct thing.”

A security consultant, Ben Okezia, faulted the request by Jonathan, saying the Army already had a budget which was being used to fund its counter-terrorism campaign in the North-East.

According to him, the government should not attempt to hoodwink Nigerians. He said the number of Boko Haram insurgents were not up to 2000 and that not all of them were armed.

He therefore cautioned the National Assembly against approving the loan request, saying the government was not sending everyone in the Army to fight against Boko Haram and as such there was no need for the loan.

Okezie said, “What does he (Jonathan) want to buy with $1bn? Are they saying all the soldiers in the Army are going to fight against Boko Haram? The money is for 2015 elections.”

They know that APC will match them money for money.

But the Coordinator of National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri, said the Federal Government would not spare resources to bring back the schoolgirls abducted from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, on April 14.

Omeri was responding to a question from a journalist on whether the resources of the Federal Government had depleted in the fight against terrorism such that it now needed to borrow $1bn to prosecute the war.

The NUC coordinator said, “Even the United States goes for this kind of facility. For any country involved in such military expedition, not just the Boko Haram issue, but engaged in a number of military exercises, its stock will deplete. Every country must restock to reinforce its capability.

“That is not to say that the resource of Nigeria has finished and therefore we needed to go for loan. It is not cash that will be given to Nigeria. It is a long term facility.

“It is country-to-country kind of process because what the government is looking for is the approval of the National Assembly so that the President can negotiate for arms to consolidate, to reinforce the stock the armed forces have and to guarantee that we will win the war against insurgency and we have an effective and capable assets to prosecute any unforeseen issue. This happens to all countries. It is not exclusive to Nigeria.”

He added, “Once the country is engaged in any kind of activity of this nature, it sure will lead to depletion of resources. So, I don’t think the loan is because the resources are depleted. For the amount so far spent, I am not in a position to say so.

“We are still prosecuting the war. So, it will be preposterous to begin to calculate cost. Don’t forget, our citizens have been abducted. And so whatever we need to do that we must do to get our citizens back, we will do it. The country will do it.”

Jonathan had on Wednesday forwarded a letter to the National Assembly, asking the lawmakers to urgently approve a $1bn external loan for the Federal Government to confront the Boko Haram insurgency.

Politics / Boko Haram Takes Over Borno Communities, Ambush Soldiers by AdelokikiMr(m): 8:35pm On Jul 10, 2014
Violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram,
may have taken over a large expanse
of land in the troubled Borno State
with recent attack on Damboa town,
which has destroyed the major
military presence between the state
capital, Maiduguri, and another
major town in the state, Biu.
Travelers from Maiduguri to Gombe
as a result, have been compelled to
travel via Maiduguri/Damaturu
highway, forcing the travellers to
spend 12 hours on a journey that
would have taken four hours.
Many travelers on Maiduguri/
Damboa/Biu highway had been
forced to abort their journey as they
had been attacked at different spots
on the 187 kilometres road.
Some residents of Mule, 15
kilometres from Maiduguri, told
journalists that they had seen many
vehicles, who had travelled on the
road, returned with corpses.
An attack on Bulabulin Nganaram on
Monday threw the residents of
Maiduguri into panic as residents
thought the terrorist group was
heading for the town.
The residents of Maiduguri had to
stay off the streets, picked their
children from schools and closed
their business premises.
There was also a heavy fighting
between the military and the
insurgents last Friday at Damboa,
which led to about 70 deaths, with
the military, police and insurgents
recording casualties.
The military had had to vacate its
base in the town since then.
Sources revealed that the bid to
reclaim the town was however
disastrous as the soldiers, who left
Maiduguri on the task, were
ambushed by the insurgents,
resulting in some deaths and
injuries on Wednesday.
The number of casualties could not
however be ascertained as of the
time of filing this report.
Mohammed Jidda, the Chairman of
the youth vigilance group, popularly
called Civilian JTF in Mule village,
told journalists about 60 settlements,
stretching from Maiduguri to Biu,
had been deserted with the
residents fleeing to Maiduguri.
Mule is about 15 kilometres from
Maiduguri and Jidda said apart froym
Mule and Dalwa, that remains
partially deserted, the entire
communities up to Biu had been
deserted.
