Everything you said is okay except calling him a simp. Inside peace shows on the outside and sometimes can be expressed. I am always careful to call a married man simp because he may have a daughter and a good wife. There's nothing wrong in simping for your daughter and your wife especially if she is a good wife and gives you peace. In this case, the man is saying the wife takes care of his home with little resources he provides her and that she also makes everybody happy in the home. What else can a gentleman ask for? A good wife should be honored and if giving her some authority especially in the areas you're clueless on is simping, I approve it.

Politics / Re: Tinubu Begs Nigerian Army To Shun Coup D’etat Plot by adem30: 11:28pm On Feb 10
Epstein:
President Bola Tinubu on Saturday urged the Nigerian Army to shun actions that could truncate Nigeria’s democracy. grin

The president made this plea at the Diamond Jubilee of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna on Saturday, according to his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.

“I urge you to continue to play your constitutional role of safeguarding the territorial integrity of Nigeria, our fatherland,” said Mr Tinubu.

Mr Tinubu added that the army “must shun any acts that are inimical to the well-being of our nation and acts which can destroy the gains of democracy which we have enjoyed in the last 20 years.”

While celebrating fallen heroes who lost their lives protecting the country’s territorial integrity, Mr Tinubu said, “The war against the enemies of Nigeria is not over.”

He charged the Nigerian Army to “upscale the fight against insecurity, which has robbed us of peace and progress.”

The president’s plea to the Nigerian Army to shun actions that are capable of truncating democracy comes as the continent witnessed a series of coup d’états.

In the past three years, several African countries such as Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Sudan, and most recently, Niger Republic and Gabon have been controlled by military juntas who cited corruption, insecurity and increased poverty as the bases for the takeover from democratic governments.

From 1966 to 1993, Nigeria experienced several coups, excused by military regimes on widespread corruption, electoral fraud and violence, poverty, and insecurity. The country returned to democracy in 1999.

Politics / Ndume: My Daughter Works At CBN, But I Spoke The Truth About Moving Offices by adem30: 8:47pm On Feb 01

Ali Ndume, chief whip of the senate, says although he has a child that works in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), his comments on the proposed movement of the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and some offices of the apex bank to Lagos are “the truth”.

Last week, the senator representing Borno south said there would be “political consequences” for moving the aforementioned offices.

The senator made the comments following the recent announcements that these offices will be relocated to Nigeria’s commercial centre.

The development elicited varied reactions, with northern stakeholders like the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and Ndume’s who outrightly rejected the decisions.

Particularly, the whip’s intial comment elicited outrage in some sections of the social media.

While Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aide, said Ndume’s comments were capable of sparking a crisis, Sunday Karimi, senator representing Kogi west, said his colleague spoke for himself and not for the senate.

However, Okupe backtracked later, saying the Borno senator meant well for the country.

In his defence, Ndume said his comments were borne out of patriotism for the country.

‘I SPOKE THE TRUTH’

Speaking with TheCable on Monday, Ndume said his comments that there would be political consequences were the truth.

“Even if my ward is working in CBN, is she the only person that is going to be transferred to Lagos? There are hundreds of people that they planned to move to Lagos. Whenever an issue like this crops up, instead of addressing the issue, the people and some of the reporters will now concentrate on the messenger, not the message,” he said.

“So this is the kind of distraction, let us discuss. Is it necessary at this time to relocate some of these departments and agencies of government back to Lagos. Why was the capital moved from Lagos to Abuja, was it not because of congestion, because of inconveniences, because of inefficiencies?

“And since then, Lagos has been expanding. This argument that they are forwarding, that it is for efficiency. What efficiency? In today’s world where you can do transactions electronically, you can do meetings by Zoom, you can communicate by WhatsApp, you can transfer documents by PDF. There is no excuse there [decision to move CBN, FAAN to Lagos].

“Coming to the political issue, yes, it must have consequences because when Tinubu was elected, he was not appointed, he was elected.

“Then even if I have a ward there, my daughter or my son or whatever, which I do, I should not say anything if I see something wrong going on, I should not speak because my daughter is there, that does not work.

“You see, somebody has to stand up to speak the truth. That is what I am trying to do.

“Let’s say I have a ward in CBN. Is there anything wrong with that? My daughter for example or my son or whatever, because I am a politically exposed person, does that take the right of my ward or my relative to work in CBN? That is one.”

‘STAUNCH SUPPORTER OF TINUBU’

The Borno senator expressed confidence that Tinubu will take the right action on the issue.

“I am in APC and proud of APC. One of the staunch supporters of Mr President,” he said.

“Unfortunately, the people outside are trying to be more catholic than the pope. The pope knows me very well, that is Tinubu, he knows I speak the truth. Tinubu will do something because he knows I spoke the truth. There will be political consequences.

“Haven’t you seen the reaction from the Katsina elders, northerners generally, are against this move. Is it not true that he will seek the votes of northerners in 2027?

“Is it not true that northerners again or the opposition will take advantage of this too? Now they [section of the north] are telling us ‘we told you that this man is a tribalist, look at what he is doing. In one year he has started making moves to hurt the north’.”

TonyRazor:
Anambra lawmakers ride Keke, governor's girlfriends, others cruise in luxury cars

By: ULOKA, Chibuike

I had planned to thoroughly assess the performance of the current Anambra State House of Assembly members inaugurated in June 2023, from the beginning of January 2024 to evaluate their achievements and adherence to their promises. Unfortunately, this is hindered by the Governor, who, as the head of the Executive, has yet to fulfill their statutory obligations as required by law.

Despite the Governor ensuring luxurious cars for his office, the Deputy, Commissioners, Special Advisers, and even girlfriends, assembly members are left to rely on rented vehicles and tricycles for their transportation needs.

Furthermore, the lack of sufficient funds force some assembly members to even resort to squatting in apartments of friends and acquaintances in the state capital. This discrepancy in treatment only intensifies the frustration of the assembly members, with the exception of Speaker of the House, Hon. Somtoo Udeze, who is often seen as a loyal supporter of the Governor's agenda against his colleagues.

Their recently approved budget is their first, and the projects they allocated to their constituencies have not received funding. Some members, who took loans for election campaigns, are now in hiding due to an inability to repay.

Professor Charles Soludo's refusal to grant them autonomy, despite it being passed into law, has left them dependent on meager allowances to carry out their duties.

Not a single Assembly member celebrated Christmas and New Year with their constituencies across the 30 constituencies in Anambra State.

Financial constraints prevent them from supporting constituents, while Charles Soludo's commissioners overshadow elected lawmakers in their respective local government areas with federal government donated bags of rice which the Governor shared to his aides alone.

They were deceived into passing the 2024 budget, hoping the Governor would fulfill his promise of funds to them. But many were disappointed and felt used when the governor rewarded only the Speaker of the House.

Little can be expected from them in 2024, as they have essentially signed away their relevance with the appropriation bill, allocating a mere two billion naira for the House of Assembly's running costs, compared to over thirty-seven billion naira for the Governor and Deputy Governor's offices, despite both being equal arms of the government, (Executive and Legislature).

Professor Charles Soludo's administration has been questionable in every aspect. I sympathize with the current Assembly; they are easily manipulated and, unfortunately, vulnerable.

Don't anticipate significant performance from the current Assembly. Many will spend the next four years dealing with debts and planning for reelection. When they come seeking mercy, consider their predicament and forgive them. Professor Charles SOLUDO, CFR is the enemy and culprit who wishes to set them up against their constituents.

Saraki’s Amunibuni Senate Presidency

By Ayinde Sulaiman

The jubilation that came with Dr Bukola Saraki’s emergence as the president of the 8th National Assembly was unprecedented among the people of Kwara State. The celebration lasted almost two weeks, with many followers saying he would use his revered office to facilitate many legacy projects for the constituency and the State.

Saraki spent a solid four years as the senate president, facilitating no single legacy project in his constituency, not to mention the state in general. The only thing he did for his people with his venerated office was share exercise books with students whose parents were wealthy to get some for them. Shameful!

Meanwhile, the fraudulent manner in which he got the senate presidency left many bashing Kwara State and Kwarans, who would later not benefit a dime from his senate leadership. Mention the unprintable names Kwarans were not called all because one selfish and greedy brat among them got one of the most venerated offices in the country through the back door.

Saraki, who was supposed to retrospect on what his fraudulent act caused Kwarans and use his office to facilitate legacy projects to his constituency and the State like the Speaker of the 9th of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, facilitated to Lagos State, he soaked himself in a supremacy battle with the former president Muhammadu Buhari.

As a Speaker, Gbaja gave Lagos State Femi Gbajabiamila Conference Center, LASU, Dualized Babs Animashaun Road and Census bridge, Surulere, Sam Shonibare Community Development Center, Surulere, Femi Gbajabiamila General Hospital Iyun Road, off Funsho Williams, Femi Gbajabiamila Hall of Residence, University of Lagos Akoka, and Bode Thomas Police Station Census Area, among others. What If he were the Senate President?

But Amunibuni Ibiye's goat (Saraki) from Kwara State, who got the Senate Presidency that's superior, wasted it on an unnecessary supremacy battle with the executive. The only thing Saraki gave Kwara and Kwarans was shame! Now that Femi Gbajabiamila is commissioning his legacy projects in Lagos State, I hope Saraki will commission the tiny exercise books he gave his people.

Those who have ascended the Senate president seat since 1999 used the office to benefit the country and their people. The only people who benefited from Saraki’s amunibuni senate presidency were the thugs, and his immediate family. May Saraki not happen to Kwara again!
