1. Can u giv me a link 2 dwnld the follow-come recovery.img file of Tecno L3? I backed up my device b4 rooting but after it all a new, custom recovery had been flashed to my phone. Yet I need some contents of the 4ma back up file, which I still have.
2. Do u av any gist about installing ANY custom ROM on TL3? Anything at all?

abubaka101: No, unrooted fones can't get bricked, atleast they shouldn't, unless it was in the middle of being rooted.
The benefits of rooting include: 1). full/unlimited customization of the fone, e.g change fonts, change settings for the default launcher like background images.
2). Flash the ROM with an even more custom one, many custom ROMs help you remove some and many System apps that u don't really need. And others can help you overclock your processor speed, so your fone performs faster.
3). Rooting your fone gives you total control of your device. In the sense that you can uninstall any system app that you don't want, and do many other things.
4). Task managers are used to kill background apps, but when the fone is rooted task managers get "superpowers"...
5). Some apps require root to work. Rooting gives you access to certain apps, like Titanium Backup...
6). Rooting helps to boost battery life.

7). Some use rooting to boost their RAMs.
. And intelligent tech people use the above and more, to make their fones even more sophisticated. The priviledges are more if you're a sophisticated person, if not you'll mainly need it for what I said above. (correct me if a wrong).
However, the disadvantages are:
1). You brick your fone while trying to root it, meaning that your fone won't work again! But some fones can be unbricked, eg. L3.
2). You delete important system apps that you can never get back. On unrooted fones, even if you uninstall/delete the default launcher, delete all default ringtones, or mess up the system apps a lot, you can still fix these problems by a simple factory reset. But for rooted fones, any deleting of system apps is final and irreversible!
3). You expose your fone to viruses since the gateway into your entire Android software has been completely opened without any restriction! And many other problems.
For a beginner, I recommend u explore the sandbox of ur unrooted Android, until ur experience wit it becomes impressive, then u can root it...
