I think that action will just create additional problem to the existing admission problem in the country. I don't know how the cancellation of second choice option will solve the problem of exploitation at the level of POST UTME. JAMB should focus on improving the credibility and sincerity of admission process across all institution, prevention of examination malpractice during JAMB exams, reducing the act of favourism in admission especially among state universities or institutions among other. IT A COMPLETE MISPLACE OF PRIORITY IT WILL SUCCESSFUL MAKE ADMISSION PROCESS A DO OR DIE AFFAIR. AND WILL REDUCE THE CHANCES IF STUDENTS |
For UI, you can't apply for psychology because you require at least a credit pass in Biology. Most federal university, and UI in particular require at least a Credit pass in Mathematics to get any course either science or art courses.. look for schools that allow Art courses without mathematics as a requirement. kindly take the courage to re sit, so as to prevent getting admission into a school and dumped out during clearance or registration.. All the best bro |

FORMER military head of state and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd.), has said that the party will win the 2015 presidential election and that it is a forgone conclusion. He also described the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan as lawless, calling on Nigerians to join the APC in its campaign to recover the country. “APC is about securing Nigeria and managing it efficiently, how are we going to do it? The way we are going to do it is why we got the opposition parties with representation in the states and the National Assembly. With that we believe that the question of winning the election in 2015 is a foregone conclusion. We are particularly grateful and impressed by your governor for his single- mindedness and his capacity to identify what is good for his people and for the country, we thank him very much. “A lot of you here were not born when our leaders thought that the fundamental thing is one Nigeria, in spite of our differences; ethnic and religious, we’ve found ourselves as one people. Our country, with tremendous resources and talented people, but we the people have managed or mismanaged to organise ourselves so that we can use them wisely for this country. “APC, as I said, is about securing and efficiently managing Nigeria, I want you to believe and participate fully because this effort we are making is for you because no matter how much we love this world or the office, we have only five and ten years to go, you better realise it and accept it and work for a strong Nigeria. “I thank Bola Tinubu for his single mindedness and the chairman Akande for his experience and personal integrity to help to get this party firmly on the ground. We in this party will do everything constitutional to make sure that the 2015 election is credible. We are in an extremely difficult position where a government is lawless, it is very clear to us and the international community that executive governors are the chief law officers of their states. Courageous Amaechi has been fighting a government that is supposed to support him constitutionally. We and the rest of Nigeria are absolutely behind your governor and God willing, we are going to deliver our country democratically come 2015, no matter how negatively other people think, Nigeria will survive”, the former head of state stated. Buhari who spoke at the Save Rivers Movement sensitization rally in Port Harcourt on Monday, also commended the Rivers state governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his steadfastness even in the face of persecution by federal government over his beliefs. Buhari’s encomiums preceded Governor Amaechi’s challenge to the federal government for an open debate over alleged unfair treatment of the state by the Jonathan administration. Speaking at the rally, General Buhari said the APC would do everything constitutional to ensure that the 2015 elections are credible, emphasizing the need for Nigeria to overcome her current challenges as one country. Meanwhile, Governor Amaechi, Monday, said he would not support President Goodluck Jonathan for a re- election as long as he continues to short-change Rivers State for other states, saying he would not “sacrifice Rivers for the interest of a South- South president who does not favour the state.” Amaechi, who said another 41 oil wells belonging to the state in the Etche area had been ceded to neighbouring Abia State by the Federal Government, also alleged that the level of corruption in the current federal administration was unprecedented in the history of Nigeria. He also said the Federal Government had elected to devote anti-graft agencies against the state, while it looked the other way in the cases of its own agencies that should be investigated for corruption. “One other thing that is bothering me is that all those that are on the other side, saying we want South-South president, I agree with them, but in politics you don’t just go to a place because you like someone, you go because you have your own political interest, so if a South-South president refuses to give you water what do you do? You sweep him out. “We gave the president nearly 2.1 million votes, right? Let him tell us one project he has done for us. I have challenged the president that I belong to the APC, if he wants me back in the PDP let him give back the oil wells to the Kalabari people. No, the president cannot, instead, he will take more. One of our sons, a Kalabari son, said the oil wells were taken under Rufus Ada-George, tell him I say he’s lying, he’s never served in government. I served under Ada- George government, there was no oil well taken from Rivers State. I served under Dr Peter Odili, the oil well was taken in 2006, they put the money in an escrow account, by 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 they took all the money and gave to our brothers and they converted Soku to Bayelsa. My friend and brother in Bayelsa said ‘we don’t want Soku, we just want their oil-wells. They said Buhari is not a Christian, he’s a moslem, we are not preaching religious politics, everyone in Nigeria has a right to worship where he wants to worship. It is only when there is bad governance that they begin to look for who is an Ikwerre man, who is an Ijaw man, who is a Hausa man, who is a Yoruba man. If there’s good governance you will be talking about schools, today have I told you I’m an Ikwerre man? “In Etche they have taken our forty- one oil wells across, they are denying us our rights, we have suffered enough and as a students’ leader, I learnt that nobody should trample on your rights. If I had not fought for my rights I wouldn’t have become governor, I suffered and my children suffered, but today, we are in government. If you listen to them closely our brothers on the other side are hungry, they have been out of power for nearly eight years, if you vote them into power what will happen?,” Amaechi said. The event was also attended by Senator Bola Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Tom Ikimi, Alhaji Aminu Masari, members of the National Assembly and other leaders of the APC at both the state and national levels. http://www.tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/news/lead-stories/item/29304-apc-will-win-2015-election-buhari-•nigeria-has-never-seen-this-level-of-corruption-before-amaechi.html |
Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta admits that John Obi Mikel could have been shown a red card for a challenge on him in the 0-0 draw with Chelsea. The pair went head-to-head for the ball with studs showing during the first half of the Monday Night Football clash at the Emirates, but referee Mike Dean allowed play to continue and neither player was cautioned. Replays suggested that Arteta came off worse in the tackle due to the timing of Mikel’s lunge, and he believes that the Chelsea midfielder got away lightly with the challenge. “On that moment I think that he caught me high – I’ve got a big swollen ankle,” Arteta told Sky Sports. “I think that he got late on the ball. You ask me if it is intentional or not – I believe that is why the referee didn’t give him a red card.” Arteta did admit that both players were committed to the challenge, but thinks that the way in which Mikel flew in was more dangerous than his attempt to win the ball. “I was not facing him and he points his studs towards me,” he said. “I think it is a different challenge. “We were both going for the ball and that is what I am saying, I think probably the referee thought it was not intentional. “I cannot judge what Obi was trying to do, I think he challenged the ball but sometimes you are late and if you are late with your studs up you know what happens.” http://www.punchng.com/sports/mikel-deserved-a-red-card-arteta-insists/ |
Pasca07: Olril,it is obvious that you are frustrated with your baseless argument, tell me what is so special about UI?stop hating because your parents can't afford private universities tuition fees.maybe i need to remind you that all the lecturers at UI and OAU are the same set of ppl that lecture in all dis private universities..LEAD CITY is an examplewho are the lecturers? give us names, you wanted to say those Msc students or Phd students of UI who are Head of department in those private schools. You can't see or know the uniqueness of UI because low level intellectual like you with 0.1 level of reasoning will not see anything good in UI. for instance, in leadcity university when it two or three weeks to examination, the students are given 15 theory question to practice of which 6 of the 15 questions will appear in the exams and they are meant to answer 4 of the 6. And You still claim you are not spoon feed? and I know that what apply to other private schools too? #TeamUI |
crixtex: guy name one world setting acheivement ur UI or dose ve produced, who wants to do msc in schs dat re nt in top 100 in d world?? and moreover if govt removes subsidy, u go no say education is not free.. y harvard no b 10naira... na wa o for some pple.... i bet u, u cant make 1st class in iuo, u fink its easy ni?can you meet up with the Academic standard of the top universities? do those universities recognize the degree from your glorified secondary school? I'm not saying UI is better than Havard Yales, MIT and the likes but I can tell you, UI postgraduate programmme is far better than that of your school, that if your school even qualified to offer PG programme. |
Pasca07: Aderibigbe, the truth is that even university of ibadan lecturers have their children in private schools,i will not mention the names of those lecturers, are you saying those lecturers don't know what is good for their children?Yes, you are right but it simply because their kids just like you can't make the standard that will ensure they are admitted to a school like UI. |
Lil-blitz:from your response, it clear you've admitted that you are spoonfeed but Please how do you work for been spoon feed ? It simple, You simply paid for it. charisma is not only about leadership but the ability to influence others decision, behavior and actions with your personal charm and distinctive qualities. a charismatic person doesn't necessarily have to be in position of leadership before they influence others. when it comes to leadership, just please keep yourself out because your so called leaders are just like Secondary school head boy, who is ordered around and told what to do by the school. |
Pasca07: Aderibigbe, stop spewing trash here with your baseless post that 98% of private universities students can't stand an average public universities students, are u refering to the same public universities we have in naija or what?lol pls provide good evidence to back up your outrageous claim.I can tell you today, the majority of you guys can't stand an average student from University of Ibadan and obafemi Awolowo university. if you think otherwise, please meet someone from either of school and objectively ask yourself if you better than them. |
SamConquer: Your entire post is same with the things i find when i open a trash-Can.Like Seriously did You just write Quality education? No need to talk much here cause i wonder what the likes of Oxford, havard(a private uni)and cambridge will call their Educational Standard...You talk about us being Spoonfeed,Guy check this out:If You are current, I hope you heard about an Igbenidion Student who graduated from Igbenidion with first class in Law he went to NIGERIA LAW SCHOOL where different Law student(graduate)from different uni in Nigeria meet, and also made another FIRST CLASS(was He also Spoonfeed in the Nigeria Law School? If His First class from Igbenidion dont convice You enough...)today that same Student is a PHD GRADUATE from Havard whom your U.i will need to Pay million to have as a Lecturer...talking about ones desire to do a postgraduate in your 'past glory university'.come on guy, that student i gave an example of,where did He do his Phd?Havard of course.why will someone aim Low when he can aim Higher...God bless You#TEAM IGBENIDIONI laugh in Persian, the greatest achievement of your school is that one of your graduate made first class in law school... Wow, you are just like an Arsenal fan who rejoice over winning a match , then what should teams like Bayern or Barcelona do... we dont rejoice over first class in law school because we've produced hundreds of that.. Please what the name of that your student? Please provide us link or evidence. If you know any 2013 graduate of Law school, Please ask about Mariam Olafuyi.. you need links.... http://sunnewsonline.com/new/specials/day-5049-fresh-lawyers-invaded-abuja/ |
Pasca07: aderibigbe,u very funny with post that private universities graduate aim to do their MSC in public universities i don't agree because majority of them prefer to further their education in abroad than going to UI,OAU or UNILAG..check the list of International students in abroad you will be amazed that lots of them are graduates of private universities in nigeriaHow many of them can think of doing their Msc in private schools? take it or leave it, whether you pay 7million and a student of a public university pay 1k, I can tell you that 98% of you guys from private university can't stand an average student from a public university in term intelligence and Academic grounds. |

ASUU's LETTER TO PRESIDENT JONATHAN Date: 22nd November, 2013 His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, The president, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja. Through: The Supervising Minister, Ministry of Education, Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja. Your Excellency, RE: RESOLUTIONS REACHED AT THE MEETING BETWEEN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF UNIVERSITIES(ASUU) CHAIRED BY THE PRESIDENT AND ATTENDED BY THE LEADERSHIP OF THE NIGERIA LABOUR CONGRESS(NLC), TRADE UNION CONGRESS (TUC) OF NIGERIA HELD AT THE STATE HOUSE ON 4th NOVEMBER 2013 Please refer to Government's letter with reference number FME/TE/SSIM/CA/99 dated 6th November 2013 and ASUU's letter of 8th of November 2013 on the above subject matter. Your Excellency will possibly recall that the two letters conveyed highlights of discussions at the meeting under reference as captured by Government and ASUU respectively. On the ASUU side, we promised that the two letters would be duly relayed to all branches of our union. ASUU duly fulfilled this promise. In addition, our branches were briefed on the understanding conveyed to ASUU president by your Excellency on th renegotiation of the 2009 Agreement during a telephone conservation of Wednesday, 6th November,2013. This was done to enable our members take an informed decision towards reviewing the ongoing strike action. The positions taken by the branches were collated at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held on 22nd November, 2013 at the Bayero University,Kano. On behalf of NEC, I hereby convey the Union's appreciation of the expressed concern of your Excellency to bring an end to the crisis occasioned by the poor implementation of the 2009 Agreement and the 2012 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) arising therefrom through your personal intervention. NEC would have taken a definitive decision on ending the strike, especially in view of your Excellency's intervention, but for certain uncertainties, the clearance of which would have been decisive in making the relevant decision. These uncertainties involve issues on which ASUU members nationwide have strong feelings. They are about certain gaps evident in Government's report as presented to our union. Specifically, our members are requesting that Your Execellency facilitates the resolution of the issues as a way of concretizing their understanding of th agreed positions. This will involve the following: (a) that the N200billion agreed upon as 2013 Revitalization Fund for public universities shall be deposited with the CBN and disbursed to the benefitting universities within two weeks. (b)that the renegotiation of the 2009 Agreement in 2014 be included in the final document as agreed at the discussion with your Excellency. (c)that a Non-vicctimization clause, which is normally captured in all interactions of this nature, be included in the final document, and (d) that a new Memorandum of Understanding shall be validly endorsed, signed by a representative of the Government, preferably the Attorney- General of the Federation and a representative of ASUU with the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) as a witness. Your Excellency, please be assured that the union is willing to do all that is needful to resolve the lingering crisis as soon as the expressed observations of our members are addressed. Thank you. Yours in the Struggle, Nasir F. Isa, Ph.D Presidnt Source: PUNCH(29th November,2013.page 2) |
Dear ASUU, Please remember that you are not dealing with AUNTY RUKA (prof Rufia Rukayah ), and are now dealing with WIKA, you can ask Amaechi about him. I also want to remind you that GEJ stopped OCCUPYNIGERIA, and nothing happened. Please ask the Unilorin 49 lecturers how it feels to be in court for 8years against Unilorin management, remember you're dealing with FG not Unilorin management. finally, remember it now every man for himself. yours in the struggle, Abdullah |

Strike may be suspended within 24 hours – ASUU Posted by: Oseheye Okwuofu, Ibadan in Campus Life, News Update 14 mins ago The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Wednesday said the ongoing strike by university lecturers would be suspended within 24 hours once the new resolutions reached with President Goodluck Jonathan on November 4 were accepted. The union, however, described the statement credited to the Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, that ASUU was making new outrageous demands as “untrue and absolute lie.” The union said it asked President Jonathan to facilitate the endorsement of resolutions reached with him and signed by high ranking government official preferably the Attorney-General of the Federation but not a permanent secretary. ASUU said a representative of the body including the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Abdulwahid Omar, would stand as witnesses. The union said it wanted the N200 billion agreed upon as 2013 revitalisation fund for public universities to be warehoused with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and disbursed to the benefiting universities. ASUU’s position was conveyed by the union National Treasurer, Dr. Ademola Aremu, while speaking with The Nation in an interview in Ibadan on Wednesday. He said the union appreciated the intervention of President Jonathan but noticed that some of the resolutions reached with the President were not included in the letter sent to the union. According to him, the supervising Minister of Education was economical with the truth by not telling Nigerians that apart from the N30 billion earned allowances released for university staff, the government was yet to release the N100 billion claimed to have been released. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/strike-may-suspended-within-24-hours-ASUU/ |
