adexkem: You can still use Nigeria certificate by doing the evaluation. Is like changing naira to dollar. I must state this , it is one thing to evaluate it is another to use it get job. That is where the relivance of course comes in. If you are in medical line in Nigeria it is very easy to get job with our certificate. You evaluate and also write the necessary board exam. Nurse or doctor in nigeria will surely get job so far you evaluate and also pass board exam. Other course your chance is 50/50 because of your assent not necessary because of say na Nigeria certificate. But in medical line they are after what you will do than considering your assent. Many that are starting at fresh want to study nurse or become doctor. I met people that study out side medical line have not gotten job with their America certificate for years because of assent.. Again why must forget their nigeria certificate and start at fresh is because govt will say for it. But if you want to continue with your 1st degree maybe PGD / MASTER. You make the payment yourself.

temmytanny: Nothing special about point of entry,just present the sealed envelops given to you at the Lagos embassy and your passport but make sure you keep your vital and original document in your hand luggage incase they request for any document.

As for certificates, my cousin and uncles over there asked me to forget Naija certificate and plan to come and start all over again(preferably from college or do some certifications).If you have some certifications like CCNA,CCNP and co, you are good to go. Any international certifications are very useful but not a guaranty.

edwrad50: Ok bruv. Thanks a lot.... I'll also like an advise from u. He has a business that's booming in nigeria and he has began to get contracts. What do u suggest he do? Go for the visa or continue with his buisness?

1)high school,no degree
2)high school diploma
3)vocational school
4)college no degree
5)university degree
6)advanced degree
7) other

you have to pick 1 cos you have an high school but no degree yet(since are still under graduate)

temmytanny: First,try 2findout if d embassy interview applicants in english or french.if its frenc,then u need translatn 4ur documents.ur wife qualificatn has nothin 2do wit d interview.she wil only be interviewed based on ur marriage or affairs wit her.intimate questns might be asked so get aquinted wit each other. ur own interview wil be based on ur educatn,work experience n relationship wit ur wife.i dont think mode of interview in naija wldbe diff frm ivorycoast for nigerians.always show boldnes n courage and baba GOD go handle the rest

nery4u: @adexkex Thanks alot. But the main thing is that am a nigerian bt wil be havin my interview in abidjan. My partner is an NCE holder that yet to secure a job bt managing in one private school. Please i dont knw how consular in abidjan do deals wit the dv winners most especialy from Nigeria.

temmytanny: 1- the american embassy has closed in my country due to the unrest taking place there , so the location mentioned on my confirmation letter is a neighboring country, if for some reason this neighboring country will no longer welcome visitors from my country, will the american embassy transfer my case to another country where i can have an interview or will i miss out the interview and the visa?
The embassy will notify you on the new location but i would advice you send a mail to them to let them know you cant visit the other country.

2- my number is 00009xxx, when would the interview be expected to take place?

Your continent will determine this but i guess before Dec 2012

3- if i have to change the location, how early in advance should i do it? can i do it a couple of weeks before the interview date? will i have to contact KCC or the embassy where i should have the interview?
mail KCC first and lets know thier reaction before you take next step

4- will every selectee get the chance to have an interview, or will this depend on the availability of the visa as they mentioned on the confirmation letter?

Yes every selectee that returns his or her forms back to KCC will have interview

temmytanny: i think its better u get a statement of result 4rm urschool since ur hnd cert isnt ready n u ar serving,dat wil helpout cos am 80%sure u wilbe askd abt ur hnd cert during interview.ur 2nd questn,i dnt av an answer to it bt som1 in this house went 4d interview in this similar case n was grantd.maybe more experienced guys here can helpout.justwise,next2u,travelcare,adexkem n co pls helpout

brightmon: @house, pls come in ohh. Well understood but remenber that she have made a publication that as from that date she no longer know as MUSA ade fejiro but OLU ada fejiro. So why shuld a recent doc be in MUSA not OLU.
And its only the publication that we have abt the change of name, are we ok with that only?

I applied using my name eg: olu musa mike which is my name and olu ade fejiro cos we were already married and with a child before i applied. note: i used OLU ade fejiro which is her new name and not MUSA ade fejiro, which use to be.
So which name should i use on her birth cetif. Old or new?
I just want to be sure and avoid any mistake at this stage.

How sure are u that in the new attestation of age should be in her previous name, mind you sher has effected a change of name since affter our marrage then why must a recent doc carry her previous name not current name?

temmytanny: I dont have the agent details and i dont think the agent is from nairaland but i will ask her when next we discuss.

ADEREMISON: @masterfarm the main issue is dat present UR ssce resut if it f9 parallel present wit UR GCE just make sure dat u ve 5credit the koko is present UR ssce luckily they may nt ask u UR ssce but dis pple re psyco base on my experience pple ve been denial with GCE result.

oayombo: Thanks for the insight, they've both done intro but no wedding date had been fixed yet before the release of this result. I just hope d guy no go 'parra' cuz me i don't want this opportunity to evade her o. What if she gets the visa as a single lady, comes back after a while to get married to the guy....what happens?

temmytanny: she has to use the name she used in registering but she should info KCC about her forth coming marriage. KCC might make the husband beneficiary
