Lexusgs430:hehe... @lexusgs430 is making a valid point. though people are leaving EU countries due to some barriers especially language and also with brexit due by 2019, people are flooding to uk, before it kicks of, hence the rush. all things being equal by 2019, EU laws will no longer have prominence over UK laws. also as regards Lexusgs430 point, it takes minimum of 6 months in some EU countries before ur non EU partner can have a a family member card or permit. this is the easiest route, but u still need to proof ur relationship is genuine and u have accommodation in the uk before immigration officer allows your partner entry into uk. u cant just walk in like that, so if u meet the financial requirement in UK, then no need going through that EU (Surinder) route, a friend of mine whom is married to an EU citizen was denied visa or entry into UK because he submitted just marriage certificate as proof of relationship, without pictures, and chart history, though theirs is free application and no need to proof financial requirement |
tosine:I followed this process, thinking it will be thesame for me. For those residing in western Europe(Germany, Austria etc), u submit the entire documents to the TLS officer or in the TLS office in your country of residence ... No sending of documents to sheffield. Decision is made in Poland. |
Hello everyone, please a quick question. My wife is a junior doctor at Whiston hospital on a fixed term contract of 2years. In the VAF Appendix 2, should I tick Permanent or Temporary as type of job? Anticipating your response(s). Thanks a lot |
Isommex:you do not submit original, just upload scanned copies. yes anyone can submit it, as long as you have their information. |
Isommex:NARIC is based in UK, cost is about 120 pounds or there about (check their website), mine took 2-3days, yes it is possible to make a statement on your Ukraine certificate (statement of comparability of your degree and English language proficiency ), u should submit your degree certificate, transcript from ukraine, and letter from your university in ukraine stating that English was your medium of instruction or language of study during your program. then scan and upload them to NARIC. |
tosine:thanks a lot ![]() |

@justwise @Lexusgs430 and anyone who applied recently. As regards Naric assessment. I saw a red link in their portal that says "visa and immigration. And the cost for english assessment is 125 pounds and there is another english assessment fee for 55pounds in the first page. Please which is the right one to use. Thanks in anticipation. Between, i am applying to join my spouse (british) |
Hi guys.. @justwise @foreveryours201 and all Nairalnders, just a little tip from my experience. I have been invited to the uk for 3yrs now by my partners mum, and i always get the visa, and remember i said i will be applying for settlement visa in February. So 2weeks ago i made a visit visa application to visit my partner (now wife) in the uk for 11days. But i was refused cos of a flimsy excuse. The visa officer said my bank statement wasn't translated to english from german hence he cannot determine my financial position, for that he is refusing me visiting visa. This sounds ludicrous cos it's thesame bank statement i have been using to apply for visa all these while and never been refused, until i said i was being invited by my partner and submitted proof of our relationship. I have never heard before that a bank statement should be translated. Lol But i guess they looking for excuse cos it's my partner inviting me, hence they feel i will not leave the uk. Despite submitting all required docs that shie my ties to germany. But i feel it's a stupid excuse. Thinking of sending them an email about this... Then chill and apply for settlement visa in February cos i only did this visit visa because i wanted to celebrate christmas with the family. Also note all my applications to uk, i always say i will be in the uk for 2weeks, but i never stayed more than 1week, cos i ve got a lot to do (biz n study), so my immigration history is perfect. What do you guys think was the real reason ? Thanks |
Foreveryours201:Thanks a lot.. I already printed out our charts 4m 2013 to date, quite much cos we comunicate every single day, so had to screenshot 2 charts from each month (june 2013-this very day), i specifically bought a printer for this. At the moment i have printed out 160 pages, will add more, also pics, vacations together and with parents, house contract in germany with both of our names on it, cos we both studied in germany, translated to english, money transfers, etc You all doing good job, bless |
justwise:Thanks a lot |

Foreveryours201:Thanks @foreveryours |
Hello everyone, @justwise @foreveryours and any other person who is familiar with settlement applications, please for how long do you need to be married before making the application? In my case we have been in the relationship for 3years and 3months, lived together for 1.5yrs (1yr 6montbs), and did marriage registry last week and we intend to make the application in february. Thanks |
Foreveryours201:Hi Nairalanders @justwise @foreveryours and Nairalanders, My question is should payslip be stamped, despite being the original copy with hospital name, position, her name and pay etc. ? Thanks |
AdimO1:I just spoke to them (UK NARIC) and was told the scanned copies are okay. Thanks guys |
Hi guys @justwise and Nairalnders. Please as regards evidence that i have an academic qualification that both: was taught or researched in English is recognised by UK NARIC as equivalent to a bachelor’s or master’s degree or PhD, do i need to send a scanned copy of the letter from my university (with other scanned copies of my certificates or must the letter be sent in its original format sealed an sent by my university. Thanks in anticipation of your response. |
justwise:Thanks @justwise |
Hello Nairalanders @justwise and others who did apply for settlement visa,.. I am Nigerian but live in Germany (3years 6months now) i have not been to naija for close to a year and my wife is british (she lives n work in uk. Started work in August 2nd 2016, after graduating from MedSchool in july 2016. her gross salary as a junior doctor is 30,000 pounds before tax. Please my questions: 1. Do i need tuberculosis test (from the website it seems i don't, since i have been away from naija for more than a year now. Though i wana be sure). 2. Do i need to pay health surcharge. 3.Do i (and my sponsor /partner ) need to fill the sponsorship undertaking? 4. January 2017 will make it 6momths on her job, this is her 1st job and its full time, so are we qualified to apply in February/march 2017? 5. How long must we stay in our new apartment before we apply or it doesn't matter how long? 6. Lastly, if we qualified to apply in february/march is it possible to have p60 ( cos p60 is usually a tax year and she will be 7months on her job) or it's not compulsory to submit p60? Your kind input / answers to my questions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
Nice one dear, I also put in for it. |
