Gotocourt:
Don't forget that things are getting harder by the day. Lots of Nigerians are fed up with the party and Tinubu's capitalist policies ain't helping matters.
I totally agree with you.. that's why a sincerely united opposition force would have beaten him silly by 3pm on elections day.

Sadly, individual ambitions and indecision on who should run in an election that's is less than 1 year away is a huge factor!
PoliticsRe: Ex-Kano Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna Visits Kwankwaso (Photos) by adioolayi(m): 9:22am On Mar 31
AMINDA:
Dey play. Even Ganduje is silently aggrieved and will not enthusiastically support Abba Kabir. Same as Barau and other federal lawmakers in the state. Tinubu scuttled their own plans and ambitions to accept a lightweight Abba Kabir with no real structure of his own, imposing a vague and undefined 60-40 sharing formula on them. There is suspicion that Abba Kabir is still loyal to Kwankwaso as he moves around with the red cap. Kwankwaso is now FULLY in charge of Kano without making any concessions to Tinubu. The so-called master strategist is being outplayed in this game of strategy. He's blinded by greed and is clearly taking decisions out of panic.

@topic, this is old news. Gawuna already resigned from the APC yesterday and has just landed in Kano in preparation for his defection to the ADC today.
Still your usual conjectures. Explain why Gawuna, if truly has the numbers you are claiming he has.. lost his LGA, winning just 1 ward out of 12 in the last elections he was on the ballot and backed by incumbent.
PoliticsRe: Ex-Kano Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna Visits Kwankwaso (Photos) by adioolayi(m): 9:20am On Mar 31
LagosOrigin:
You don't know what you're saying .

It's true Rabiu Kwankwaso is a big fish in Kano politics . Gawuna too is a very big name and that's why tinubu almost had a running stomach on hearing that Gawuna is defecting to ADC . Tinubu called him many times but Gawuna ingored the calls . Tinubu sent people to go beg Gawuna and even offered him a position but Gawuna refused and still dumped APC. He will officially announce his defection to ADC in days to come.

What I'm trying to say is that Gawuna is very very popular in Kano state. He's loved by his people and he just might be the next governor of kano state in 2027 with the look of things and with how the current governor has fallen out with the kwankwasiya followers.
Can you explain why he lost his own LGA in the last election... winning just his own wards out of 12huh In an election he was on the ballot and backed by the incumbenthuh
PoliticsRe: Ex-Kano Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna Visits Kwankwaso (Photos) by adioolayi(m): 7:17am On Mar 31
Mr Nasir Gawuna ...with over 800k votes .. aligning with elections veteran like Kwankwoso in Kano is a plus.

Should this addition naturally translate into increase huge figures...the answer is No.

The reasons sre simple...The only force here is still Kwankwoso and not Gawuna.
This is because, Gawuna reportedly only managed to win his ward in an elections he was on the ballot...he lost 11 wards and lost his LGA in the last elections. NNPP candidate backed by this same Kwankwoso won in 11 wards and this LGA.

So, I believe it is Kwankwoso's figures he will inherit. Kwankwoso needs him as a candidate to run Kano gubernatorial..and that's all.

My own permutations...if there are no other defections from APC to ADC....I think Governor Kabiru has a chance.....teaming up with Ganduje and other APC's heavyweight...his own performance ratings will be decisive to know if he can defeat Kwankwoso.

For now, Gawuna is not adding any electoral figures to Kwankwoso
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Will Win By Wide Margin In Northern Nigeria – Shehu Sani by adioolayi(m): 6:35am On Mar 31
reddingtonblack:
You know in politics history is key or perhaps a good compass

You have a point, infact i believe the North is the custodian of " ZONING" and they may feel triggered esp. to see a southerner with 2 terms prospect

But in Politics nothing happens without "arrangement" .. If Jonathan an incumbent could lose at the time, Zoning favoured the North ... I think the North has leverage to take the Risk this time than to continue suffering nd dying more under Tinubu
I love your submission...it's true the North may want to take a risk and see if they can snatch power in 2027..
The problem here is, will they get this support from SE power blochuh Will Peter Obi and his supporters support a Northern ticket of it's not PO on the ballothuh Will the NC support a core Northern candidate at this periodhuh

Remember, Atiku couldn't get 25% votes in 24 states in the last elections..meaning, a SE votes is equally as important as the northern votes

These are the questions.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Will Win By Wide Margin In Northern Nigeria – Shehu Sani by adioolayi(m): 6:31am On Mar 31
AMINDA:
What alignment? You mean the ones he procured with money and coercion like in the case of Fubara? Kano federal lawmakers like Ado Doguwa, Kawu Samaila, and Jibrin Kofa who earlier defected to APC are already considering defecting to the ADC having seen where the pendulum is swinging towards. Here they are having a meeting after boycotting another meeting called by governor Yusuf Kabir. Notice how none of them is wearing the slave chain insignia cap. We warned Tinubu not to upset the cart in Kano but his greed wouldn't allow. The same will be the case in several APC states with newly defected governors.
AMINDA has much as I love to engage you.. because you know I love some of your views..
Whenever I sensed you are adding conjectures and propaganda to drive home your point..na there I dey leave you.

Your permutations have never been correct on Nairaland before.. because you analyse with sentiments

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Will Win By Wide Margin In Northern Nigeria – Shehu Sani by adioolayi(m): 6:28am On Mar 31
givedemwotowoto:
The North is not controlled by one single person. There are power brokers who stand to lose or gain depending on who is elected.

Atiku, Kwankwaso, El Rufai and their associates have no hope of being President or being power brokers for the 2031 President if Tinubu is reelected. They will support a different candidate where their interests lie. Politics 101

If you’re seeing politics like this, why is it that Tinubu didn’t win 100% of the votes in SW in the 2023 elections, if everyone saw it as Yoruba Presidency like most of you Tinubu supporters do?

Why is it that OBJ won Ojukwu in every SE state in 2003 if everyone thinks in terms of tribe?
I love your response, except the part bolded.

Maybe you shave checked my profile before assuming I am a particular person's supporter.

Many of us in this forum analyse Nigeria's politics without sentiments or emotions..we come here to learn from other brilliant minds. When you pick this kind of bias, we both will not learn anything.

Back to your beautiful point...the issue here is power rotation.

It's a huge factor. When SE voted OBJ...he was contesting against another SW man.
Tinubu won't win SW 100% in 2023, because a PO was a force and the performance of the incumbent at the time worked against him.
There was partial acceptance within the APC circle.

We can't compare those events with what we have now..
1. Regional power rotation favours him
.2 He will go into this election as a ruling party candidate that has almost everyone in his party's support.

That's why I think it will be an herculean task to defeat him.

Remember how Jonathan lost....a powerful block from PDP moved to APC..with almost 5 Governors..joining forces with an election veteran called Buhari and backed by Tinubu's powers in SW.

We can't say this about ADC
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Will Win By Wide Margin In Northern Nigeria – Shehu Sani by adioolayi(m): 6:17am On Mar 31
AMINDA:
It won’t be a betrayal. He would be repaid in his own coin. 5.6m Northerners voted Tinubu in 2023 and would have repeated the same in 2027. It was Tinubu who betrayed the North and the people who worked hard to make that possible.
I love analysing our politics without sentiments or emotions.

Nigeria's political system is diverse, especially for politicians that have seen our resources as National Cake that everyone must have a bite.

In governance, sharing of this cake has never been balanced. Those whose interests have been badly affected will jump to the opposition and those who are eating something tangible will remain, and if they were at the oppositions before, they will align.

Sadly, that's how these guys have been ruling us over the years.

Will the so called betrayer be enough to defeat APC, considering the numbers of alignment they have equally receivedhuh Time will tell.

givedemwotowoto:
The magnitude of betrayal that awaits Tinubu from the North will be massive… and he knows
They have proven over time that they don't play one eye-man kind of politics..

Just 4 years before power goes back to the North... anyone that thinks the North will trade this for a potential new President that will spend 8 years doesn't know politics.

He won't be betrayed..
PoliticsRe: How ADC Can Defeat APC And Tinubu by adioolayi(m):
"But before Obi should be made the consensus candidate. He has to be made to swear with anything or gods they have to consult that he will only complete the remaining 4yr tenure of the south and hand over to the North"

The bolded won't happen... It's called politics for a reason

There is no political logical way out for the opposition...

All political permutations favours APC ..

Our elections are based majorly on regional considerations ...and this is exactly why no permutations favours the opposition.

Take a look at those in ADC...the ones that have the capacity to win elections in the South is Peter Obi..he can only achieve this if the North fully supports him....but Regional considerations of the North expecting Power in 2031 will not allow them to support him...it's a plain logical truth.

If you take any aspirant in ADC from the North...say Atiku...he can win if he gets the support of the South ...but, Regional considerations comes in again on the bias that North has done 8 years .the south just did 4 ...so the south will neveysupprt Atiku.

So, regional considerations is the major road block to ADC chances.

A Goodluck Jonathan, that has just one constitutional term, if he joins ADC can be more appealing to the North and get their support....Can he get the ADC and get their ticket? He is not even in consideration
PoliticsRe: Defection: ADC Accepts Kwankwaso's Conditions by adioolayi(m): 4:18pm On Mar 30
Na so..

Politics is about personal interests..

Nothing more or less..

Politicians are comfortable at the political party where their interests is guaranteed and also where they feel they can win elections.

No politician is in politics because of the usual rhetorics of "I want to serve my people" "my people ask me to contest" "I will do one term"

They are all liars ..it's about their selfish interests only

Politicians play politics...only when dem wan share National cake, National assets...Future of common man...future of Nigerians simply put!

When it comes to their normal personal relationships...they align..

That's why you see them giving their children's hand in marriage to eachother..

That's why you see their children in different political parties, different from those or their parents..

That's why you see their children hanging out together..

That's why you see them gather together during social functions...including birthdays, marriage and burials of their aged.

Use your head...when it comes to politics..na selfish interests on how best to share National cake... Nothing personal!
