dreamxhaser: What are you saying? I know you from somewhere?
That guy I quoted didn't get the point the other guy was trying to make.
He claims Man United has fallen so bad that we are dragging players with the likes of Newcastle. Then the other guy explained to him that they have the money now, aside from FFP, that keeps them in check.
Then he went further to use City as an example. When the Arabs bought City, it was a mid-table club at most. But because they had the funds, they were able to beat other clubs at signing players and even took Tevez from Man United, which was the biggest club in England then.
Now what are you on about? Or did you just quote me for argument's sake? You have typed so much without any evidence of logical reasoning and sound discernment... You cannot use City who outspent clubs and offered humongous wages to players, to the current Newcastle. City, in addition to the huge financial commitments transferwise, began expanding their Global spread and influence. Comparing them to the current Newcastle United screams "Wacko Jacko" - that's the point! |

dreamxhaser: Guy your understanding is level bad. Wtt he at he is saying is, Newcastle have the money now. When Man city were not big, but had the money, they pulled players from clubs that were doing big then. And the point is that the Newcastle comparison to city is moot, bereft of logic and deductive reasoning - same as your posts... City, with the backing of the Arabs were literally outbidding everyone and offering ridiculous wages... Comparing them to the current magpies is just shallow and poor |

patrickmuf: Abeg no vex, which kind striker we suppose dey parade?
Does calling for the signing of Osimhen (specifically) mean that all the players we must sign have to be world-beaters?
I personally prefer Gyokeres but saying that those who have specifically mentioned Osimhen are asking the club to sign mercenaries is laughable...Osimhen should be playing for one of the big clubs, and it's not out of place for a fan to ask the club to throw their hat into the ring...Osimhen is a striker, one of the many positions we need reinforcement, I don't think I have seen anyone asking that we sign the Mbappes, Yamals, Musialas, Pedris and co of the world. We just want players who are technical on the ball and off it, are ready to work hard... Please don't get me wrong o - I am not against Osihmen joining o. Why would i be against the acquisition of one of the best players in the world if the club can afford him? I think the point here is that he seems to be "out of reach" and the earlier we started exploring other "realistic" options of acceptable quality , the better. Some insinuations on here that these shambolic performances and results would definitely repeat next season if Osihmen doesn't sign for the club, is kinda worrisome and would always set the manager up for drags Anyways, as Amuludun don acknowledge his failures, prostrate tell us sorry, he is forgiven He needs to really atone for his "sins" o and the scrutiny would be tougher next term. |

Who said we should sign established players? Asking that we get players that don't treat the ball like a bomb is not asking that we go sign world beaters...You guys just make things up in your head and run with it... One of the top 3 strikers in the world for the last 2 seasons or so, isn't a mercenary? |

spillo1: On the contrary I don't think amad has a future in this team as a 10. His best performance has come at wingback and we are stacked with so many tens.
Agree on the 2nd part. I think if Bruno stays he's definitely playing more as a centre midfielder. I think Cunha's purchase tells a lot about Amorim's preferred qualities in his 10s...unless he is looking to be have a runner/dribbler and a passer as 10s I am also wondering where Mainoo would fit in the long run. At CF, i think we should be looking at an upgrade on Delap. Unfortunately, not too many CFs seem to be "available" at the moment |

Cunha. Mbuemo
Dorgu. Bruno. ?? Amad I am not sure Amad has a future as a WB... Amorim also needs to make his mind up about Bruno's long term position in the team - those shunts between CM and LAMF dont seem to be helping at all. |

😅 😅 I saw the nomination and decided to be silent about it but they had other plans.... From head-to-head to number of wins, the Wolves manager cooked their fraud thoroughly and yet, they’re still defending him like prime Danny Shittu.
If this isn’t a textbook case for football deliverance ministry, I don’t know what is 🤷 There is really no basis for comparison. When the cold, hard facts are laid bare, some see it as negativity while some are just uncomfortable with reminders on how poor their fav has been this season. Instead of them to let the matter die, they brought it up again for Amorim to be cooked further As they say, you cant shame the shameless!

Seunpapa65: After watching today's game. I have come to the conclusion that Manchester United do not have clinical and competent finishers. Imagine Martinez teaching our striker how it is done by scoring from the insane angel. And Zirkzee passing the ball to a defender ( Maguire) instead of finishing by himself.
But I don't blame Zirkzee much because he was scared how United fans will treat him if he would played and missed. The boy hurriedly transferred the burden to Maguire who was better placed anyways. Assuming he shot and missed, na for that spot him career at Man utd for end |

maik99: You probably don’t know, but you are proving his point with these screenshots Read the discussion from the beginning The common pattern is that we are struggling with tepid and poor displays vs Lower teams and this needs to be addressed by the manager - that's my point! Incessantly swinging from " quality of our players is too poor " to "they are actually good but inconsistent" rigmarole, is getting boring and tiring AF! If he needs to dress them down publicly or beg them privately for us to see improvements in motivation and ultimately, performance, so be it! Leyqute: Was the whole team disjointed ….
1. For Nottingham’s goal where Bruno attempted a foolish 1-2 with Yoro and Onana couldn’t catch a straight shot?
2. For Wolves second goal when Garnacho loses possession carelessly and we conceded from the resulting counter? Independent: Wolves saw off a tepid Manchester United at Molineux on Boxing Day with a 2-0 victory that lifted them out of the relegation zone https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/wolves-man-utd-live-stream-teams-score-result-b2669095.html/quote]
3. When Joelington and Isak headed in from close range uncontested with a United player just a yard away from them? All these are excuses baba...as evidenced by the "feeble" and "tepid" adjectives used to describe the performances.. Even without those mistakes, wetin we play? Leyqute: We need to start winning against the small teams, yeah. And that will happen when we turn up against them like we do against the big teams. Shikena. Yeah, the manager needs to get the players to turn up - he can't be allowing and watching everyone "turn up or down" like a transistor radio whenever they want...atleast he has shown us that they aren't as bad as initially projected.

Leyqute: The system delivered a 4-0 versus Everton, didn’t it? If you’re good enough, you’ll be consistent. I don’t know why that bit has flummoxed you. Lol
Is that not our only home win in the league this season under Amorim How have we fared vs the lower teams? We have played Ipswich, Bournemouth, Wolves, Everton, Newcastle and Forest and obtained a miserly 4 points from these 6 games Leyqute: The Liverpool that are topping the table, is it not because they’re consistent at creating chances and scoring goals? They are winning and not making excuses here and there...that's what matters most |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by adisaaowala: 11:15pm On Jan 05, 2025 |
Leyqute: “They” here doesn’t mean the whole squad. You can have a 8 players turn up and 2 players will make costly mistakes and you’ll lose games.
This has been happening consistently under Amorim as well as ETH, who plays a different system by the way. Unfortunately, this has not been the case...atleast not with the disjointed performances we have seen from the side especially at OT.. We can't say that the terrible results are because 2 or so players consistently underate the opposition.. or there must always be 2 players underestimating the opposition. If a system isn't working to give the required results, the onus is on the manager to investigate and proffer solutions. Currently, our system isn't working vs the small teams..as evidenced by the results. The onus is on the manager to check and rectify whatever the issues are. We can't be going from " the players are not good enough" to the " players are not consistent enough" even when there is a clear "loss pattern" |

Leyqute: Nah. Nitrogen is very wrong.
If we keep the ball well and find weaknesses in the opponent, we have a better chance of winning. That’s what we did against Arsenal, City, and Pool. Against smaller teams, you can notice the approach of the players and their mentality. They believe they can drop levels and Nottingham Forest will just lie down and allow them to score. The lack of consistency is the problem. The lack of passion and seriousness when it comes to smaller teams. That’s why we lose against them. It has nothing to do with the formation or structure. If this is the case, then I am afraid it's still a tactical/structural issue because the "whole squad" can't just decide to underate the opposition at the same time I see that we are gradually going from " they are not good enough quality wise" to " they are good but not consistent"...lol |

Leyqute: Could you elaborate? These same players had a terrible season under ETH last season but turned up on the last day to beat City and win the FA cup. Are you sure that’s not the same thing happening under Amorim? If a team is consistent vs lower teams but falters against the big boys everytime, it wouldn't be out of place to exclusively label it a "quality" issue and say "ah - na there their talent reach". However, it seems like the opposite is the case under Amorim. I think the manager needs to sit down and re-assess the team's approach to our games vs lower teams - the Smash and grab approach that works vs Top sides wouldn't necessarily yeild much against the likes of Brighton etc and i think that's the point Nitrogen is trying to make..not necessarily about formation. Our last 3 games vs Bournmouth, Wolves and Newcastle - we literally failed to create clear cut chances, despite playing 2 of those games at OT. The game vs Newcastle ....we saw the effect when Mainoo came in for Orobosa - even though it didn't result in goals, we saw some stability and improvement in ball possession and retention.. We want to see similar changes in tempo and momentum w.r.t the glaring problem of struggling to create chances vs Minnows.....especially at OT. It doesn't even always have to be facilitated by a change in personnel or formation - asking player X to drift in more or drop deeper etc while player Y pushes further to yeild visible, glaring positive effects...stuffs like that! |
