ESPN: Ruben Amorim is adamant there will be "no excuses" if Manchester United do not beat Everton on Sunday despite having limited time to prepare for the game.

The new head coach said he is "managing the fitness" of his players following two games in five days against Ipswich Town and Bodo/Glimt.But he insists United "have to beat" Everton, despite Sean Dyche's team having a full week to get ready for the trip to Old Trafford.

"It is what it is," Amorim said.
We will rotate players and we will be ready. [Against Bodo/Glimt] we have to use four subs to manage the fitness, not the game. We manage the fitness.

"We have to do it. We already know that it will be like that so no excuse. We should be ready for Sunday and we have to win."

Amorim is asking his players to take on new information as he continues to implement his 3-4-3 system.

He's also keen for the squad to become fitter, but admits it's something that is difficult to achieve having arrived midway through the season. "Everyone has a job in the staff and they are more important maybe than me," Amorim said.

"We do it like walking -- and jogging -- it's a way to do it. Showing some video. Videos more than 12 minutes? Forget! Because of concentration.

"They are very good players, they need to believe and we will show individual stuff. Team stuff. And if you cannot run, you can jog."

A win would most likely elevate us by atleast 2 positions....

It's really pleasant that quite a number of the injured guys are returning

I have two-and-a-half years of contract and you guys talk about that. I think two years, you can understand if I’m the right manager to go in this process. I think we will need more time because if you look to the other clubs that are winning this league, they are doing this process for a long time, but they are winning, that is why they have time to do this project.

‘I understand that we will need more than two-and-a-half years, we will have to win something somewhere, but in two years you can understand if you want to continue in this path or you change. We will see how long it will be. We have to win games to win time to then win titles.’

Amorim said Rashford’s position is not CF. We need to offload him
I personally think his time is up - him cup don full Tey tey with the poor performances and disgusting attitude.

However, it seems like Hojlund has inherent fitness issues so we might just need to manage Rashford for this season...atleast as an emergency backup

To manage him would also mean he needs to be getting minutes here and there to keep him match fit

Amorin trying to accommodate Bruno in midfield will not work, also e be like say Orobosa time on the bench go long...
I think in the post match interview vs Ipswich town, he mentioned that he needs to get into the box more

Orobosa doesn't seem to be that kinda striker so unless there is a miraculous change, I wouldn't be surprised if he is loaned out pretty soon.

It seems Hojlund and maybe Rashford are the 2 natural Cfs in the senior squad.

I hope say Amorim go continue with this heavy rotation even when the team balance.
A manager who isn't rigid with tactics, seeks to exploit gaps in the opposition's setup, and looks to optimise performance/results with resources at his disposal, would most likely succeed.

Amorim seems be the dynamic type and it's really a welcome development

For me winning a Cup this season will be fantastic while looking for a way back into the UCL

Nah i think it is a competition United should aim to win as it guarantees CL qualification, United can win it if the players are serious enough.

I'd prefer we finish as close as possible to top 4, than to compromise a decent finish in the league for some competition in which, by any stretch of imagination, we cant be considered as favorites to win

I think it's easier to even topple the likes of Brighton and co in the league than to think of eliminating teams like Lazio, Ajax and Sevilla

I expect the team to start showing obvious signs of improvement before February. In the summer he will have time to get his players in and get those he doesn't fancy out of the club...

Time will tell...
I agree.....

While he tries to implement his strategies and stamp his identity on the team, a decent and respectable finish in the league is very much achievable - we are just 3 points from 6th position and it's Brighton that's currently 5th after just 12 league matches ; there are 26 league games left to play, translating to a whopping 78 points still up for grabs!!

To help accelerate the recovery process, It would be of immense benefit if we start tidying up transfer business early enough...possibly from the January TW if some of the targets are available by then. For those that can't join immediately, deals should already be agreed in principle. Dunno why we haven't been looking at players from the South American league but that's another discussion for another day.

As they say, "If you get on the wrong train, be sure to get off at the first stop. The longer you stay on, the more expensive the return trip is going to cost". Putting into context, I think we stayed too long on Bin Laden's train that was laced with explosives. We literally tried to give him enough time to destroy the club cheesy

The demands, pressure and expectations associated with managing top clubs has always been there and nothing is changing anytime soon.
The earlier the manager also realises that Man Utd isn't Sporting Lisbon, the better.

Hopefully Amorim's tenure here would be a successful one.

Maresca joined the club before the season started, has had time to understand the players and train with them, including try out different things that didn't work. Remember he was abused during preseason by many Chelsea fans because the team was struggling and playing rubbish at times. He was able to offload those he didn't need and work with those he felt he can't work with because it was preseason

But I'm sure this point will fly over your head

Have you watched any Chelsea game of late?

Maresca is not making excuses neither is any Chelsea fan making excuses for him, he is working with what he met on ground. I think it's only Sancho that is new in their line up, he came in and immediately decided to offload players he didn't need or froze them out of the team because he knows what he wants. James is out injured, he is their best defender. Lavia is injured too after an impressive start but still he is working with the players available and doing well so far.

How about Flick at Barcelona who is doing wonders with kids? FDJ only returned to the bench after being absent for months now, Araujo is out injured, Olmo is injured, Fermin is injured as is Christensen, Bernal, Gavi and Ter Stegen yet Barcelona fans are still going into each match day expecting to win, no excuses even when you can easily make up one for Flick.

You think Pep will settle for less because Rodri, KDB and Ake are out injured? He will find a way to win regardless.

That we do not have an established pattern of play after 2 full seasons here is an indictment on ETH whether or not you admit it. In Pep's first season at City, we all could see what he wanted to do even though the personnel let him down most times but with ETH, there's no glimpse of the kind of football he wants to play. He simply is not good enough or the pressure of coaching a top team and in a high pressure environment got the better of him.

Nothing wrong with Amorin joining now, this is the best time to access his players and not during pre-season imo.
He has seen them in training for few days and now during a proper game, he should be able to identify the talented and serious players from the bums.
He has to get the best out of the bums bald fraud flooded the club with and finish in a decent position at the end of the season, hopefully the club will back him well in July to get his own players in.
He should sha not try that Casemiro/Eriksen combo, or play Amad as a RWB again. Bruno, Garnacho and Fraudlot also need bench time to reset their footballing brain, he should also pay special attention to Trashford.
Maybe Harry Amass will do better as a LWB than fraudlot.
This is the normal expectation at a top club but everytime, our own must be different - dem don use excuses swear for us grin

With respect to getting his own players, I am not sure the club would even shy away from spending as early as January if any of the transfer targets are available
