Career / Re: Am About To Resign Because Of My Boss Wickedness, harrassments And Embarassments! by Adjunct: 4:14am On Jan 18, 2016 |
I cant remember the last time I replied a post or logged in on Nairaland but this got me interested because I was in a similar situation which I shared here a few years ago. I angrily resigned but my plan B was to go for a training in my field with the cash I saved up while with the Bank and currently, almost 6 years later I am earning more than 8 times of my salary then. (I was earning almost 200k in the Bank) I am not suggesting that you leave. It is not always the solution but damn him, send a strong-worded mail to your HR seeking a transfer and clearly stating reasons why you cannot continue working under him as your supervisor. Then, by the side, have a Plan B. No Plan B is ever easy at the start but do have one. Bullies are cowards and retreat when they see who does not fear them. In whatever you do, do not lick his ass. It will perpetually demean you and change your psychology. Climb the ladder of your career only through hard work and God's grace. That's what will make it last. Goodluck. 3 Likes |

seudocode: @adjunct -I really salute your courage of resigning to follow your passion;but are u saying that diamondbank management always stick to there promise of upgrading there new intakes at exactly 6 months to N2.796M-cos most banks only state 6 months on the- job- training on paper, only to end up extending it up to 18-20months!-and with the on-going diamondbank recruitment nationwide 2012 ,I fear if they can end up upgrading them all in exactly 6 months.I am aware that accessbank pays 103K for degree holders with a promise of upgrading to 170k after TWO years of working with them (upon a signed bond of 2M to be refunded to the bank if u wish to exit anytime before two years). As a former insider of diamondbank,Please share your experience conserning the 6months training issue/extention, in your reply...thanks Oga! Coming to conversion to ET, DiamondBank is very professional. Once your references are complete(Professional,Academic & Personal) and your appraisal done by your supervisor, they will convert you. Where many people usually have problem is Professional references since their first job experience is usually NYSC and until Human Capital get your professional reference from your previous employers(in this case, ur place of primary assignment), they won't convert/confirm you. Another one is the Academic reference from your sch, you have to follow up too... Meanwhile, once you are converted, you will be paid arrears... Within that period, Human Capital will keep sending you mails on what to do & they will also be reminding your supervisor about your appraisal. 1 Like |

234GT: I think working in a bank exposes one to a lot of business opportunities. Any business you do in the Bank for your own personal interest is illegal and you can easily be laid off though... |

234GT: okay. You left the job to pursue your passion. I feel its a good move. You have definitely created more jobs and I believe you are happier now. Yeah bro, I now earn above N250k per month now and have time to write some professional exams. I never had time in the Bank. But that's me bro, sum pple are very much comfortable with what the Bank offer |

Ok, I actually resigned when I had saved up enough funds for further studies. I studied Engineering and wanted to have a career growth in my field. I was becoming too comfortable in the Bank without growth actually. I never wanted to stay more than 3 yrs in the Bank since many pple easily get carried away while there. 3 Likes |

I resigned from DiamondBank. As a Trainee(1st 6 months), you are paid 80K monthly. Once you are converted to an Executive Trainee(ET), your annual gross payment becomes N2,796,000 but you receive N178K every month excluding your housing allowance at the begining of the year which is N245k. 5 Likes |

And he couldn't explain to AVB too? he had to take painkillers to play for Chelsea and not Nigeria? anyways i know the coach is there to do his job, we're watching sha. Yes, he had to take Painkillers for Chelsea cos dere medical team could handle him well; all d injury Essien incured were 4rm Ghana National team & dey hv abandoned him, Keshi is making d same mistake Siasia made: wen dey hv minor issues wt players, dey wudnt deal wt it internally but run to press, How many times hv U seen world class coaches lash out to dia players in front of d press except it's sth dat has really gone out of hand, To be forewarned is to be forearmed! |

Mikel was injured & explained to Siasia dat artificial turf would only aggravate d injury, he played in Chelsea on Sunday wt painkiller & was still not fit enough to end d game. I dont know y dey wudnt leave dat lad alone, they expect so much 4rm him & yet, says he isnt a good player, mtcheew! |
