You're avoiding my comment. You come to the defense of Africans that are attacked. Fine with me. Have you ever came to the defense of non-Africans that were bashed by Africans? |
A 15-year-old black dude graduates from a university. http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/maryland/15-year-old-graduates-from-the-university-of-baltimore-051711 |
And yet, saiyaman, you're tearing down AAs. I find it funny you will go after AAs who hate Africans and remain silent when some Africans express hate for AA. I guess you have hate for them, too. |
First of all, saiyaman, I believe you're not AA. Second, your "behind bars than behind books" argument shows you are ignorant, AA or not. Smells like bullsh-t. I'm a black man and I've never been in trouble with the law. I also graduated from college. http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2011/02/african-american-owned-businesses-on-the-rise.html Once again, you're silly just like some other people here. Also, you're black and you call other black people monkeys? Wow. You obviously hate AAs just like k.o.n.y. hates Africans. I'd say both of you are silly. Obama's parents didn't make him president, the people that had enough of Bush, Jr. and voted for him because they thought he would be better made him president. You act like his parents had the power of foresight. By the way, if you really want to be technical, music that originally started in the US by blacks is listened to throughout the world more than anything else. Look at house music. It's popular, especially in Europe, but it started in the Chicago black community. K.o.n.y. is contributing to the divisivness, but so are you. And to be fair, both Fela Kuti (God rest his soul) and Beyonce are both icons, but on different levels. Fela Kuti is an African icon known mostly to Africans. Beyonce is known the world over. If you ask people in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Denmark, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka who Fela Kuti is, an overwhelming majority of them would say, "No, who's that?" and would have to Google the name. If you ask them who Beyonce is, they'll tell you immediately if they were not living under a rock for the past decade. If somebody becomes successful by making music or being an athlete or hosting a talk show, why should their success be diminished? And what's wrong with working at Wal-Mart or McDonald's? A job is a job, right? Nobody wants to work there permanently, but it's still an honest job. Yet you want to look down on those that work in those places. |
You're not answering my question, k.o.n.y. Why are you attempting to cause trouble or division here? I'm here because I love my African ancestry and I believe ALL black people, both in the African diaspora and on the African continent, need to be united, not divided, We're the same people and, if you really think about it, we face similar problems. I'm working to make that happen. What are you doing? Don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution. By the way, it's ethnicity, not race. |
Nice photos. |
I didn't want to get involved, but I could not resist. K.o.n.y., if you're going to talk about black accomplishments, don't just mention entertainers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_African-American_inventors_and_scientists http://www.blackentrepreneurprofile.com/fortune-500-ceos/ Tada! K.o.n.y., why are you trying to start trouble? What's your problem? Saiyaman, you're not AA. I noticed you used the term "daft." That's a British slang I think an overwhelming majority of Americans don't know. As for Barack Obama, he self-identifies as black/AA. Look it up yourself. Inked_Nerd, is akata some kind of ethnic slur like spic and guido? |
, I thought I should post this anyway. I'm not going to bore you with my description. Just read the links. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Lawson_(engineer) http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/14/technology/personaltech/14lawson.html?_r=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IK2mKw6dwtA&feature=related He died on April 9th at the age of 70. He was a man more people need to know about. |
Nonsense. |
cap28:Very well said. Some people need to stop thinking the west is God's gift to the world. And if you don't believe this, just ask the Mexicans that are the United States' new slave labor force. |
What's up with MandingoII? Is he menatlly challenged or is he just plain ignorant? I'm not hating on him, I'm just wondering why he's here when he has negative feelings toward some on this forum. Do administrators not know how to block an account? I'm an AA and it's kind of startling. |
zstranger:Let me tell you something about. I'm an AA who assembles and repairs computers for a local business. That's what I do for a living. You still want to play this silly game of hating people and falling into stereotypes? I congratulate the girl. That's what this thread is about, right? But no, you had to turn in into an anti-Carribean and anti-AA hatefest. Congratulations for your ignorance and stupidity. |
Excellent speech by Mr. Asante. Cap28, you have to remember, some hold Gates in high regard because he has PhD and teaches at Harvard University. To me, a PhD is just a piece of paper. It does not mean one is smarter than everybody else. There are a lot of intelligent people in the world and they don't have PhDs. |
lagcity:Lagcity, thank you disproving this myth that Africans sold their own to the Europe-ons. I don't know why some Afro-Americans believe that mess, and I'm Afro-American. It's like when a white person says "Jump!", some AAs reply "How high, sir?" Get off that crap. |
Okay, I apologize for the insults. You're right, the insults were not necessary. My apologies. But the insults are the only things I'm aplogizing for. I stand by the rest of my statement. |
Tayo-D, either you're very s-t-u-p-i-d or a troll. Donald Trump is a piece of s--t, a race baiter, and probably a racist. Yes, I'm going to play the race card. How come no president before Barack Obama wasn't asked to produce a birth certificate, which he did before? There's no doubt the haters will find something else that is trivial to make Obama look like an evil man. Now, they want his college transcripts from Columbia and Harvard Universities. Is a black man going to these schools unrealistic to some? Cap28 is absolutely correct. These birthers don't like the idea of a black man named Barack Hussein Obama II being in the White House who happens to not be a butler. And if you try to deny this, then I know you are truly s-t-u-p-i-d and out of touch with reality and probably kiss white backside, if you are black. This non-issue is just that: a non-issue. The only people that were distracting from the real issues are Donald "I-have-a-great-relationship-with-the-blacks" Trump and the rest of the racist ilk. You want to go after Obama? Talk about his domestic and foreign policies. This myth is just that: a myth. By the way, Donald Trump put up a full page advertisement in the New York Times in 1989 calling for the execution of five young black men who were accused of despoiling a white woman in Central Park, even using racial language. Those five young men were found to be innocent due to DNA, but some still don't want to believe that. No, Trump, your combover-having a$$ never had a great relationship with "the blacks." You haven't apologized for that disgusting ad and you refer to black folks as "the blacks." F--k Donald Trump, f--k the birthers, f--k the white racists, and f--k you, Tayo-D. |
Tayo-D is silly. And yes, 4 Play, Americans are the most ignorant and stupidest people on the planet. |
I have a question for those living in Britain. Why is the royal wedding a big deal? To me, it's just two people getting married. That happens almost everyday throughout the world. It's not newsworthy. What's the deal? Is it a British thing? Do any of you care? |
The man was a video game pioneer. |
This is kind of late, but did you know the first cartridge-based video game console was invented by a black man? His name was Jerry Lawson and he died on April 9th at the age of 70. Here's the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/14/technology/personaltech/14lawson.html?_r=1 |
