yea. I have an external dvd rom plus i use the recovery disk(of thesame system type but not the one that actually came with mine) to do a system repair for it. But still no noticeable changes.

phykel: I dnt really comment on Nairaland bt I will today. The long awaited NEC meeting of ASUU is abt to start as members are nw arriving @ the ASUU sectariat here in BUK kano. We have a lot of journalists and students here. Bt I guess its going to be a closed door session. Bt a press conference is expected at the end. Am sure its goona be gud news.

Samsung notebook. Model:NP300E5A. It came wt windows7 starter. Afraid of non genuine windows so i haven't upgrade.

Yes i did the f8 thing and it dint pop up anything........... The set up on mine is by pressing f2.... The main menu which are listed upward are sysinfo, advanced, security, boot, exit. Under the boot, there is boot device priority, numlock, touch pad mouse, internal lan, pxe oprom....... Entering the boot priority order, there is sata cd, sata hdd, usb cd, usb fdd, usb hdd, network............. There is nothing like all those things you listed above........ And thanks for ur attentiveness. Any other help you can render?

Let me state my own problem.... Few days ago, my system crashed bringing on the blue screen wt some writings....i force shutdown, start again and it's normal again...... So yesterday, my system starts hanging so i manual shutdown. Turning it on, it stopped wt a blank screen just before the log on page. The cpu light was full, then after like 3 minutes it'll blink and the system will do like it wanna start(still on the blank page) then stop again. Please guys, how do i get my system back to working normal.... I tried the f8 thing, but it dint pop out anything. Thanks. I use windows7

Where are the engineers pls. This same thing is happening to my system(windows7). The light indicating that cpu is working is on(full). Maybe i should create my own thread.
