tommyex,in reading this thread while on my 'sabbatical',i have come to develop a greater respect for you.i like ur way(s). how this weekend go be?who dey win.man u or arsenal.forget! arsenal go enter third this weekend.u wan bet? |
i have read with so much dismay the posts on this thread since opoks decided to take his leave. i would naturally have replied but i decided to keep my cool taking into consideration some salient facts. first,i had just finished my stress with okoroboy and secondly i felt it was time i also got entertained. i remember when kuwena started this thread,he made it known dt it was to inform, educate, entertain and generally sustain us through the waiting period.at different times on the thread we have had people 'leading' the thread most notably kuwena and opokonwa. we have displayed our humanity on several occasions and from my point of view i felt dt was what made d thread interesting.this thread was never made for saints, monks or people who are spick and span and never make any mistakes. i say with all unequivocality dt this is d most interesting thread on nairaland(at least till the last 3 weeks). opoks has headed this thread most admirably and i have seen a couple of friends discussing this particular thread. opoks had a disagreement with kuwena which to me only goes to show our individuality and d fact that we are real on this thread.owing to a comment of kuwena(which he has since apologised over)opoks decided to leave.to me it was not a wrong decision because it is his fundamental right. my irritation came the next day when the first post i read was one utterly condemning opokonwa from a totally unfamiliar stranger who apparently had been reading the thread for a long time but refused to post.why then did he have to wait for opoks to 'retire' before finally deeming it fit to say something and thereafter prtraying himself as a man of peace(dt word has been so bastardised on this thread).opoks called it cowardice,i call it absolute mischief. opoks is back in full force, where is thought.this is not how to be a 'gentleman'.we must always be ready to bear responsibility for our actions. i bet when opoks leaves again, thought would come to post.some guys can be really embarrassing. i have had my beef with opoks and okoroboy but surprisingly, these are the two guys(if i am chosen by nlng) i most earnestly wish to meet(and my guy kenosky). the quarrels on the thread to me are only of the head and not of the heart.keeping a 'beef' in a 'refridgerator' for this long by thought is most disheartening more for a guy who never knew he existed.and to imagine that apart from pgm and kuwena(who apologised) no other person on the thread could caution thought or even defend opoks. if the truth must be told we all look forward to taking a look into opoks mind every morning.his posts have always been like an like an early morning coffee. it is then wrong for people who said nothing when thought was pouring his venom to start calling for peace now dt opoks has come back to defend his honour. peace without justice leaves us all pretenders and hypocrites.the truth must be told irrespective of whose ox is gored. |
kuwena, its good to know of ur success.i am so happy for you. i am sure ur genius would do a world of good to intercontinental bank. much as i detest the banking sector,i cant help but agree dt IB PLC has the best staff in terms of customer relationship. congratulations, my brother.u will excel.give them ur best while still waiting for the real deal. pax domine |
opoks,at last those "efulefus" called super eagles are gradually picking up. they played a 2-2 draw with mexico in the home of the mexicans. Obafemi was hot like fire scoring d brace before the mexicans equalised. i have a feelin this guy called Ikechukwu Uche would be the hottest revelation the eagles has seen in a long while. he adds life to games.apart from scoring in his debut against lesotho,he also caused a penalty in nigeria's favour but played it above the bar. i hope this is just a tip of the iceberg. because i am personally tired of all d bronze medals at the nations cup.if we want only bronze, shey we no know Oba of Benin palace? |
opoks,i wan been ask u whether u no go comment on onyinyechi post.i for shock o.so u sabi her before.ur query for plenty here o.i assure u |
uche, which kain punishment be this one wey u dey give us this afternoon.these pictures can make one salivate seriously o.anywhichway, wetin go be go be |
opoks and debosky did well in making kuwena understand some realities about the "eldorado" called america. much as these guys have done their own bit in making their country one of the best in the world,it definitely does not mean it is devoid of its own "wahalas". i would still say though it is not bad as an alternative plan but we must not take those things we are opportuned to have in naija for granted. knowing dt quite a number of companies have this mentality of believing dt all foreign grads are better dn their nigerian counterparts(irrespective of the kpangolo university they attend),i think schooling there for a higher degree is not a bad idea. but as for living there permanently,i say "mba".i believe there are great potentials in naija if only we can look further. and think. i can say america is not as rosy as they make it seem. its only dt america has some of the best propaganda machineries in the world.it seems by birth ,all americans are born propagandists always wishing to give an impression of america as d capital of the world and a place of perfection. this is sure a good thing. and dt is y they are a whole lot different from nigerians.we are always so eager to proclaim our negativity. so until u get there,u may never get the whole reality. as for me,i look forward to travelling there(though i have in my dreams) and having the white guys fuss over me and not the other way round.and d truth is dt d money they would fuss over would be made from naija. abi how u see am? |
opoks, y u dey yab our pple now. e easy to carry ur two leg go person house go chop? thank God u even have d cash to spend.if not u go dey look them face and vice versa. dem sing jolly good fellow for u ?abi na happy birthday to u? i still dey wait for my own share of the cake.feel free to text it |
kuwena, ur temper hot o.no be small thing .na nlng and nigeria u dey vex for like this? i have said in a previous post dt there is nowhere in this country where these things dont happen. but dt does not mean that these guys would pick over 70 new employees(that is still in the realm of conjectures though)based strictly on d man-know-man factor.they certainly know dt would be to their own detriment. as opoks has adviced, continue with ur other plans while still waiting for this. the truth is no amount of lamentation will change what will be. if we sit on our chairs and write against all d ills in the society and all d shenanigans in high places, these guys will still not give a hoot. momsy called from lag the other day to ask of the latest on the recruitment stuff. i just told her offhandedly dt i dont give a hoot again.i have done my part both intellectually and spiritually.the rest is left for them. as a mum she assured dt she was still doing her own part for me but in all let d will of God be done. u are even lucky u have something doing no matter how annoying it may seem.there are a million and one grads in naija dt would do anything to get dt which u have. men, delve into ur job and get ur mind off this stuff.otherwise na High BP u dey play with so o. |
omotoda, let me say welcome to our humble thread. at different times on this thread when our human nature has taken dominance or threatens to do so,somebody comes out of the blues to give us great hope and encouragement. ur post came at the right time.men, how encouraging it was. i must say u have really achieved a lot for urself even without an oil and gas company job. i hope with ur post most of us would come to a further realisation of what has become a mantra now on this thread ,dt God can bless us in whatever way or means he feels will be to our own good. ese gan. this is wishing iyawo a very safe delivery |
opoks,on saturday i decided to give kenosky the same surprise i gave u. so i picked up my phone and called the guy up. men, kenosky too wake up.very lively soul. with or without nlng, there are some peeps on this thread i must endeavour to see face to face. kenosky is definitely one.keno,u too much joo |
opoks, men, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. as d days come ,so we grow older. may God grant u greater wisdom, love, strength and peace. this is wishing u all d best in life. hope u are having a great day at d office. wetin ur office pple do for u? |
tk kia guys.later |
jalo, i have read ur post and i agree it makes a lot of sense. but as opoks has observed in the last week, disputes are only a necessary part of life.whenever u come across a group of personswho are always permanently in peace,be assured then that that can only be a den of pretenders. is it not better for one to air his grievance when he feels compelled to do so,than having to smile and bottle up his emotions whilewaiting for the day he would take his revenge. i say my mind when i am upset and at all times and immediately after dt i forget the whole episode. i once had my beef with opoks when he came newly to the thread but i think of all the members on the thread today,i am closest to him and kuwena and even speak and send text messages to them. as per the tblack gist ,thanks a lot men.d report came in handy.i always felt so too. so to all d peeps on this thread, keep doing what u are doing with ur God and in His own time, all must be well |
rockie, thank u o jare. help us tell them o.its amazing. imagine checking the thread about 4 months ago and now and still realizing that we are waiting.well whenever they are ready,we also are |
kuwena, this is wishing u a very happy birthday and many happy returns. may all ur dreams come true. may all the positive desires of ur heart be granted thee. pax Domine sit semper vobiscum felix diem natalem, mia amicus. ad multos annos |
opoks, thanks for d promise.i really do need it apart from mine.i trust dt all will be well |
men,its so easy to see dt my peeps are really enjoying the hols.d thread has never been this dry and boring in a long while.well its all good.lets get the best of the hols.we may need d strength for next week. |
opokoson, e be like say this nlng thing don begin they vex u.men no be small thing o. i have come to realise based on all the gists u and the other peeps have given and also based on the fact that this is nigeria where things lik dt can never be ruled out,dt the top-dogs there will definitely give some slot to their own interests. but when u look at it critically,u would realise dt even in the universities they have what they call V.C's list. apart from the v.c all the principal officers of the university and some other top professors (except for those who just wish to let excellence win)usually do have their own candidates. but u know the good thing? even the profs realise d need to pick the best if not for anything for the glory of the institution(that is after the mediocres have been selected). i think the same thing applies here. these nlng top dogs will have their own candidates for sure(person wey hin mama dey heaven no dey go hell). lets say some slots will be for some high shot federal people. there will still be more dn enough for all those God wants to bless thru that line. i must even say i am beginnin to doubt that gist of them taking 70. so d truth is no amount of anger can change anything. as u already advocated, let the prayers continue. finally wetin go be ,go be. |
i think there is a need to even remind us of one fact. as someone once mentioned on this thread in the past, all the remaining hopefuls(i.e. d 464) will surely get a letter. the problem now will be what the letter will contain. so for all those living with their families in block of flats or indeed anywhere, always inform ur family not to start rejoicing the moment they see the man from fedex(this is because i assume most of us will be at work when the letter will come) after signing for the stuff ,they should ensure that they read, browse, preview, review, the letter and understand the message before knowing what to do next. this is because i am sure in situations like this the grammar will be so simple yet difficult. in dt way we wnt get those amebo neighbours entering ur bunk and noticing a different mood .as for me i am sooo prepared for the best or worst.luckily i used my festac address for all correspondence and i live in abuja. so all i wait for is the phone call from my people.as kuwena will say "i am resigned". but for now,i will continue enjoying my job |
my peeps, barka kadai.this holiday came at the right time. i never knew i'd feel such great relief at this holiday.its a real good time to get rejuvenated. men u guys should get the best rest possible.i am sure the next holiday will be in december . but coming to look at this nlng stuff,i just realised again this morning that the guys presently in Bank PHB training school at Victoria Island in Lagos started exactly on the 21st of july which happens to be the last day of the assessment. funny enough, their training ends this week i.e on saturday which makes it almost 3 months and surprisingly,we are still waiting. when my friend in the training school called me on monday ,he was so certain the stuff would have been out but was so shocked when i told him dt not only was it not out but we could not even get convincing rumours of a date. when they had theirs,i remembered they had a guy in the human resources dept .dt was giving them all d koko. i wonder y this particular one is so secretive dt even cousins ,uncles, brothers cannot find info to give to their relatives.even university confra sef neva hide something like this. since even the great minister of information, tolagbaju cannot get info out for us,men i'll wait till they finally are ready inorder to avoid more conjectures |
tommyex, na lie.i no gree.u must act for this movie o.u don hear. as per the letter i dont even know d chances of it coming today or this holiday period.the thing don tire all man. as the yorubas will say"o ti re mi".men i am so tired dt i have just decided to keep keeping my fingers crossed. we have gone through tougher things in the past.when them tire dem go carry am come |
whiteribs, this is certainly your first post baa?then welcome. shey make we believe your gist? from your address i can see u live at Bonny island.so e be like say your gist na from the grapevine. anyway ,u are welcome to help us increas d momentum again.e no easy to dey post for this long. |
runsaway, our father Abraham.thank u for scolding us.we are so sad.u go AWOL and think u can come back from the blues to scold ur children.thank u daddy.we have heard |
pgm,u have made sense.i would not have replied d guy but when a thing comes out of outer space and feels he can do nothing other than say rubbish,he ought to be told some home truths.its risky keeping quiet because there is a great possibility of it being misunderstood.imagine one getting the nlng job based strictly on merit and owing to his misguided post pple now assume it was gotten based on some connections.much as it may not matter much,i felt there was a need to correct such an impression especially coming from someone who is such a copycat that he cannot create his own style of entering the thread.but its all good.let better things take over |
okoroboy, i have read ur last post and as is usual of u, u make no sense i want u to re-read d 2nd paragraph of ur last post and see if ur premises lead to a sane conclusion. u are very pitiable. u work in a multinational organisation and that makes u educated. little wonder then when they say some graduates purchase certificates. i am sure u work in their technical dept. repairing machines.any fool can do dt. so u think that all banks operate on the same policy.ur thoughts are archaic.u are indeed a vestige of an antediluvian culture.check for the meaning of a "strategic hire" |
okoroboy, please in the name of all that is sacred, stop disgracing ur family. much as we know dt some engineers have a difficulty in really grasping the english language,we do not need u to make it more obvious. kenosky had earlier said that he first worked with first bank before moving to zenith bank. is dt in that thing u call a mind an "entry level"? is life about having the cash or having the cash and spending it judiciously? is it not better to sell spare parts dn to have ur kind of knowledge. |
okoroboy, i am sure in that thing u call a mind,u have really achieved. u made an aggregate above 4points out of a total of five.and its an achievement? u are indeed a most unfortunate human being. so getting a job to u is the ultimate achievement. now i understand the meaning of being a graduate but not being educated. u asked if there is a person in the university of ibadan who got employed even before he graduated. my joy comes from the fact that ur question shows ur level of education.and as we say in law"res ipsa loquitur" -the facts speak for themselves. now i am grossly convinced that common sense is not truly common. my consolation also comes from the fact that kenosky and opokonwa have proved at different times dt UNN is a good school.without them on this thread,i would not advice my house maid to attend a school where a person of ur level of thought graduated from. u even said nobody on the thread earns up to what u take home in a month.is dt an achievement?ur school fees should have been used in purchasing a chess board. i have never hidden my disdain for the banking industry and even though dt is an appropriate plan B,i have never taken it seriously.the only bank test i wrote was dt of first bank which i passed but refused to go for the interview knowing i am not cut out for such jobs. u even tend to forget that a bank job is the life dream of some people.so y then is it not a plan B? as the latinists say "tu me miseret"-i am sorry for you. |
opoks, how far. we havent heard from u today. i have noticed that u are always the first to post in the mornings and ur posts usuall read"8.25 a.m". i came today expecting to see same but u were not here. hope u are good bro.how jab |
kenosky, u be humble guy. its difficult for some pple to reveal that despite their being geniuses like u quite a number of companies failed to take them. and now u work in what we all know as d envy of the banking world.and u go soon comot by God's grace go a more solid place. i purposely replied dt guy because silence in this case might just have been misconstrued. we dont even know whether the numbskull has a job,or what school he finished from or anything about his "life". and my anger be say he is worsestill ,a copycat.hin wan copy opoks style.controversy no be for everybody,it takes self confidence to maintain it. even after apologising to uche ,he still went ahead to say "but i was merely stating the obvious". what was obvious? at least with opoks and uche's altercation,we all know dt the guy has a plan B even though it may not have been identified as strictly so. even opoks and uche's apologies were unequivocal. d "thing" saying i did not mention a plan B forgot dt i am a lawyer which in itself is a plan B. the wisest fool in this country knows dt lawyers may not get well paid but we undergo pupillage under seniors after which we take our destinies in our hands.(and i have done mine with a lawyer with 20 years experience) i am more than qualified to start my own legal practice. men, make person yarn other better things.its too early to start considering some "esinsin" hp u are having a great day at work |
adeiza jay, welcome. everything relating to nlng recruitment process remains in the realm of conjectures. no letters have been sent out except that sent out in the minds of rumour mongers. this is authoritative.capish |
pgm, welcome back bro. whenevr u go AWOL and i am left with opoks, kenosky and kuwena,i usually ask "who is the craziest of us?". i usually give it to kenosky ,opoks and maybe me. but whenevr u are back,i realise dt "our crase na apprentice where ur own dey". u praise our writing styles but i adore urs. where u go since? |
