we are on a new page already.this must be the fastest thread on nairaland today with a percentage of , posters(na yam?i sabi maths?)its a good spirit in here. @pgm,ur post was a classic. pple like mourinho are needed in english premiership to humble arsenal and man.u do u realise that there was a certain year when man.u opted not to play the carling cup because they had too many engagements dt year. whenever they even had to play, they usually fielded a very weak team. until "the special one" came into the picture using his best players for all matches because winning was not a sometime thing but an all time thing.it was not everything but the only thing. furthermore,i was so tripped about ur open meditation on how we toil in school, read ,burn all the midnite candles ,take all d nonsense from lecturers, write aptitude tests and so on and so forth. i feel u my brother. i have found out in my short stay on earth, especially in the modern era, education is only a launch pad. these days d real cash is made from using your talent.that innate ability deposited in you by God. look at all the tu faces,D Banj,Faze and all these young guys, how many conventional workers can ever achieve what they have in these few years in 30 years of working except thru dishonourable means. i know one day i will use my talent to make money.i cant help but smile when i look at dt d banj with his body like spaghetti(i like d guy sha) or tu face with dt his "nothing dey happen english" he speaks all the time. do u even know how much these comedians collect per show. there was a time pastor chris okotie gave dt guy called AY 1 MILLION Naira for mimicking him.some so called grads who have better talents are wasting away. working for a start is a good idea but the long term is what matters opoks said something shortly after he joined this thread and i agreed totally.dt is we should not aspire to work for anybody for the rest of our lives. rather we should just give in our best while there, with the intention of doing our own thing later on. that is where i feel the real fulfilment will come from. for all u knoe Abramovich may have an equivalent of maybe SSCE or first degree by naija standards. so men talent is it |
while trying to place this last post,i just saw d post of nuttie. i couldnt help laughing my head off. person say e don tire for where hin dey work,na fight? as solid as nlng is ,pple still dey comot from there go shell and other places. men i love this thread |
tommyex its a pity . sorry.mourinho carried the day. at least if we count the number of appearances btwn arsenal and chelsea during his reign u would realise there is no basis for comparison. chelsea is d bomb at least for now. and sorry ,i made a mistake.arsenal beat sevilla by 3 goals to nil and not 2 @kenosky, thanks a lot for ur kind comments.by Gods grace our dreams shall come true. |
i must agree dt this thread is now once again very much alive. different guys are launching and relaunching themselves into the thread in different stylees. opoks entered with war runsaway and pgm entered with positive mischief tommy with questions tolagbaju and larwee with information every man with his own stylee well done guys lets keep the thread alive |
@kenosky, u know y i almost believed pgms post. on that day the human resources guy said owing to the lapses in fedex's delivery, they would contact us with all means possible but basically through letters, text messages and e-mails. so i felt it was possible. but all d same now dt we know d truth,it means d waiting continues. also, never say never. the season is still too young for that.for all u know chelsea may give u d surprise of ur life. pikin na pikin. or havent u heard the african proverb"dt thing wey pikin dey climb tree go see ,old man don stay ground see am". @Uchychelly, at last another lady has joined, making it three i.e jill, graces(where she dey sef) and you.welcome.pls give us d female touch abeg. |
@kuwena, thank God for journey mercies.dnt forget the message in the text. |
opoks, there is nothing i will not see in this my short life on earth.do u realise while going through the other threads i came across this post.sometimes its good to be nigerian.it seems these guys have all they need to the extent that suing God is the next stupid thing on their minds.how these guys amaze me.and to think that the guy is an african american.indeed how merciful is GOD. Read the post under: WASHINGTON (AFP) - A court in Nebraska is being asked to cast judgement on the ultimate judge -- God. (Advertisement) State lawmaker Ernie Chambers filed a lawsuit Friday against the Almighty -- acknowledging he/she goes by numerous aliases -- for causing "fearsome floods, egregious earthquakes, horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornadoes, pestilential plagues" and other alliterative catastrophes. The suit, Chambers vs God, asks the court for a "permanent injunction ordering defendant (God) to cease certain harmful activities and the making of terrorist threats" which affect innumerable persons, including Chambers's constituents. It asserts that God is "the admitted perpetrator" of such acts and said that God's omnipresence gives the local Douglas County District Court jurisdiction in the suit, adding that God's omniscience eliminates the need to issue a formal notice of the lawsuit. Chambers told local media he filed the suit to make a point about frivolous lawsuits frequently seen in US courts, citing a recent one against a judge. He asked the court to award him an unspecified summary judgment against God, or, in the alternative, issue a permanent injunction against God engaging in the damaging acts cited in the filing. Neither God nor his/her spokespersons could be contacted for comment. |
@ultrame, go for the interview since its on saturday. u really have nothing to lose. is there a way u can run the two simultaneously i.e dt is like do d NIIT stuff on part time basis(like weekends) and d job on full time basis? but if this is not possible i would advice u complete ur NIIT programme. dt program is recognised anywhere in the world. at the end of it there is a greater probability that u 'd get a more well paying job than u presently have now. this is also taking into consideration the fact that u are not in love with the job. money is not all there is to life even though its a sine qua non to a beautiful life. in addition, the NIIT stuff is a scholarship,so u are not paying a dime.now dt u have d zeal and its free grab it with both hands. u seem to have a love for infotech.so go for it. the banks have a "lovely way" of killing peoples dreams all in the name of the cash. at the end of ur program ,i am certain u would get ur hearts desire it may not look like d best now bt u will definitely not regret it. and most importantly, pray.that is the greatest power on earth cheers |
@iykrion, solid word.i agree absolutely. @poster success is never as result of academic qualifications alone. some first class grads are even failures. so do not lose hope. have u got any innate talents? then develop it. these days pple make more cash from selling their talents dn they do using wat they learnt in school. also ,if u have d means, take a professional course and be the guru at it. companies would rush to u . just finished reading an advert on this site where a company was looking for somebody who is good at the forex market to conduct a training. u need not be a grad to be a master at dt. there are so many opportunities in the IT industry.avail yourself of them. lastly,as long as God lives there is always hope.never lose hope. that would be an insult to God.u can be whatever u want to be. there is a drop of greatness in everyone of us(remember d guiness advert) @david_ylan even a fool is considered wise when he keeps quiet. |
fellw hopefuls its all going to be fine. lets keep faith and hope alive all must be well @kuwena, safe trip back to kano. hope u are fully rejuvenated? |
opoks, Jose Mourinho has resigned. some bad belle pple are saying he was sacked by the big bros,Abramovich. whichever is true,he is no longer with chelsea and its a pity. unfortunately its happening at a time when chelsea has a crunch tie with their perennial foes,Man. U. i hope this does not affect the psyche of the players.but its left for fans to wait and see. i am sure the guy will get another club to coach within the next one week.if not for anything for the glamour he adds to discussions. Ferguson and Wenger would heave a sigh of relief.their nemesis has finally gone. @Tommyex Congratulations. ur boys beat the great Sevilla by 2 goals to nil. it seems henrys departure has done more good dn harm to the team. d guys are now more confident and assertive.nobody can bully d kids anymore. bt its still too early to rejoice.game plenty die. i am not an arsenal fan sha bt even enemies would be telling a lie if they dont agree dt those guys play solid football. |
tommyex, my brother. u no offend me o. i was only trying to prevent a wrong impression. u said i was sounding as if someone told me that majority of the pple here would not make it. on the contrary,a pple of such faith can never be left out of the train. i believe so much in the guys on this thread. we have quality materials here. and on different occasions its been proved. even if they fail to take some, its their loss because most if not all of the guys here are quality. i know u meant no harm bro cheers |
pgm, u are d bomb.u are so funny. if i hadnt looked well enough i,definitely would not have seen the"gosh, i had been day dreaming" part. dnt worry it will no longer be a dream. it will soon come to reality.but dt was sharp.u had my mouth in my heart for a 2nd all will be well |
guys today is the 19th of september. we have approximately eleven days before the end of this month. if we have waited for 11 whole months to get to this stage, a little more wait would do us no harm. remember d first advert came out in d Guardian Newspaper of 3rd October 2006. so in less than 14 days it would be exactly one year since d fastest person applied. men, how time flies. its all goin to be well. lets keep our fingers crossed. we will hear from them very soon |
tommyex, i have thoroughly reviewed my last 3 posts and i am sorry i find no negativity in it. i dnt kno when asking pple to share ur enthusiasm,or to keep faith dt all is going to be well ,became negativity. pls a little more circumspection in reading and understanding before posting would do a world of good. |
i got a call on thursday from kuwena that he was at Gwarinpa in abuja. so on friday, after work i went to visit him. great guy. we had a good time reviewing things on this post and life generally.it really helped ease off the stress a lot.i felt better after everything. i got more positive after the encounter. our conclusion basically was what we had said here times without number,dt nlng or not God has great plans for us. i want u all to join us in sharing dt enthusiasm.apart from it being true,it would also do us a lot of good. all must be well this finally marks the cancellation of the alert put on jill and kuwena.at least we know they are both fine.now, its ehido left. kenosym, uche, tolagbaju, opoks, jill, kuwena, i hail o. tommyex,i understand.i particularly love d penultimate line of ur last post.i agree in totality .all must be well. |
jill my dear, good to have u back. opoks, u think say anybody go pay u d kin pepper wey u dey collect come let u rest big pay demands big work u no know say u be expatriate in black skin d only difference be say while expatriate no dey do any work,as black man u must work.and hard too. its all good.just take it easy and make sure u dont break down.men catch ur fun to d hilt.life short . i will console myself with the champions league starting tomorrow.person go kill hinself? |
to all my fellow hopefuls and winners, after going thru d thread on friday and today,i noticed a drastic change. never in the life of this thread have we had our lovely thread reading"yesterday", but it finally happened on friday and today. it shows a massive decline in posts especially from the "frequents". is this unusual? i would say no. this usually happens at times like this in the life of everyone.it definitely is not peculiar to us. no one can blame us.we have really tried.we have waited. i asked myself yesternite if i would ever have cause to wait like this for anything in my life.i was consoled with the fact that nothing good comes easy. even the great motivator kuwena is finally resigned.God sees all our hearts. He knows what we desire. He will meet us at the points of our need.lets all continue giving our best to our present employers.it will soon be over. whatever time we are able to create, lets post any word of encouragement.we never can tell who will get motivated and gingered up. it has no option.it must be well |
opoks where are u?u have also joined our friends missing in action.i will include ur name among those to be declared wanted.howz work. |
today is d 14th of september.d day we have been waiting for draws nearer.its all going to be fine.lets keep praying.d will of God must surely be done |
tommyex ur question would have been answered so easily if u had read at least the last three pages before this.the answer u are looking for is on page 29 of this thread.it is the third to d last post.i hope u find it useful. |
to all winners and hopefuls its soon goin to be over.lets all focus on God.it must be well.and guys relax.our eyes dey too chuk for this thread.once in a while talk about other things jare.it will surely do u world of good. by the way where is kuwena, jill and ehido.if by the end of the week i dont see their post here,i will put out a national alert on the NTA,CHANNELS,AIT and even the security agencies for them. have u forgotten i am the chief of defence staff of this thread(according to opoks) tk kia guys.we will all be fine |
aniffy4eva i understand my brother.its not easy.dnt worry behold d days are coming says the Lord our God when my children shall work at their own pace and have all the time in the world for themselves.it must surely come to pass.abi person go work for company for ever? |
opoks, our guys beat spain by 3 goals to nil. remember the first guy played his over the line while our keeper caught the other two. those 'efulefus' called super eagles won their water polo match by 2 goals to nil. i saw it later after the match. i am so disinterested with those guys. dt even brings me to how local african coaches are.can u imagine kanu Nwankwo slapping dt guy from lesotho so clearly on the face without the referee giving him even a yellow card. that was pure and undiluted intimidation.what the yorubas will call 'alagbara lo nile'. i am sure the referee was awed seeing the star he reads about in the papers face to face. to me dt was wrong.dts y foreign referees are the bomb anyday. do u know Benny McCarthy did almost the same thing in their match against Zambia(which they lost by 3 goals to 1) and the ref. still did not do anything. well one day, we will get there |
opokonwa, u wey dey praise my english no know say u sef na baba. when the third world war was goin on btwn the two of us, i couldnt help but marvel at ur writing style.it was free-flowing.anyway thank u my brother. as per the golden eaglets ,they just arrived yesterday with the governor of lagos giving them a largesse worth 15million naira. i am happy for them. i have their full list and i intend keeping dt list at least till 10 years time when i intend comparing them with their counterparts in this competition. do u know dt while i was looking thru another thread on this forum, one guy wrote that he can swear on his mothers grave that one of the golden eaglets players lives in his area and dt the guy is 27 years. he said he can say this anywhere authoritatively. i laughed. the guy sounded confident though. i think he mentioned Akinsola.and u remember in a previous post i had mentioned dt guys name and Edile. i wish dem the best though.the truth will show one day as it has with Agha wonder et al but for now i am enjoying being a nigerian.at least for the right reasons. opoks u seem to like football too, which club are u a fan of i must confess this nlng gist can be choking sometimes much as we have tried to divert attention from it,people no gree cooperate. abeg lets talk some football joo. Champions league group phase starts on the 19th of this month. |
i forgot to congratulate us over the victory of our boys at the just concluded u-17 world cup in korea.i must confess it feels good to be a Nigerian.at least we may have some positive press for the main time until one nigerian commits again.our girls just played their first match in the Female world cup holdin in China.they drew 1-1 with their swedish counterparts.for ur info sweden is ranked 3rd in the world.Germany (the no. 1 team) beat Argentina by 11 goals to nill(i.e is an average of 1 goal per player). i have to go now.lets all be positive.Gods plans for us are always the Best.all must be well |
opokonwa your gist also made me remember my own assessment day. u know we were only 4. two of the guys are economists, one is an accountant and i am a lawyer.when we saw all those engineering facts,i thought i was going to faint.i was just saying to myself"i fit draft contract if person wan buy or sell house, but which one be this one wey this people come dey tell me to build factory." when we started talking i felt we were yarning 'opats'.but as we were thought at law school,'even when u are saying rubbish and u know it,look into the judges eye and continue speaking with authority'. we were just yarning sha .whether we were making sense only God knows. at a stage while we were trying to get an estimate one of the guys gave something that seemed like a wrong analogy, one of the yeye assessors burst into laughter. but we no send o. our saving grace though was anniffy4eva who just continued like there was nothing wrong(that guy is good abeg).after like 10 mins. we started flowing better(at least from my own estimation) at that time we just sort said to our different selves,we may not be engineers but we are graduates, lets get the best out of it". the human resources guy later told us after the whole interview stuff that that they said we did well(but he wasnt an assessor o) i cant imagine how those engineering guys(especially the civil engineers) would have devoured that stuff. but nothing spoil,as i have always told myself 'all must be well" |
opokonwa, i hope this gist u gave about ur guy and d guy from ogun state was a joke.i hope u are not serious about it. but even if its true all hope is not lost. nobody can really tell the criterion or criteria used by these guys in recruitin. do u know a friend of mine had a similar experience while being interviewed for a bank job. he was asked a normal question most interviewers would ask which is "what is dt thing u can do for us that no other candidate can do?' my guy said he thought and thought and realised he couldnt get an answer just then. he said he just looked at the interviewers and told them"there is no musical instrument be it electrical and manual that i cannot play".and he kept quiet. would u imagine that he was still given the job.i remember he was so sad after the interview and had already dubbed himself a failure. on confirmation later by a senior uncle who knew some top dogs there, they confirmed that they took him because he had great creativity.according to them a guy who could play any musical instrument must be a very creative person.capish. to be fair to my guy,he is one of the most dexterous instrumentalists i have ever seen. so u see, different strokes for different folks. |
tolagbaju, thanks 4 ur kind words. it amazes me dt now we are almost at the end of the journey, some great minds are coming to join.well better late than never. welcome aburo. i must say dt, as opokonwa observed, the race is getting more interesting. concerning nlng in-house info,we seem to have heard 3 gists dt sound a bit authentic. one fact that the three guys seem to agree about is the fact that nlng needs 70 souls to work in their establishment. we have all taken judicial notice of that. but of the three guys that have posted i.e larwee, tolagbaju and jalo concerning the real gist, only tolagbaju has mentioned a name or position that we can relate to. all we've been hearing is "a reliable source said".how reliable is the reliable source. tolagbajus post from what i can see here was on the evening of saturday 8th sept. which means he spoke to the manager of the loans and risk department on friday. larwee told us a friend he bunked at his place when he came to lagos(dt should be over 3 weeks ago ) told him the list of 70 was ready. jalo mentioned a reliable source. i am compelled to believe tolagbaju more.his analysis was second to none and perfectly logical. but i must confess that all the infos have taken us a bit further to reality. lets all keep our fingers crossed knowing dt soon, very soon, all must be well |
my guy, even if d company sells transformers, they would not even pay u 500 dollars a day.even if u are to open a Bank of Heaven, nobody would pay u dt.wake up. u still dey sleep |
CONGRATULATIONS. MAY ALL YOUR OTHER DREAMS COME TRUE.U SHALL BE SUCCESSFUL IN ALL YOUR ENDEAVOUR.AMEN |
FELLOW HOPEFULS AND WINNERS I have finished enjoying myself.its time to go.abeg let nlng not be the centre of our world.lets catch some fresh air and discuss other issues.joo,biko,abeg,d'Allah,doo,laho.which language is missing?ok loves.la'er.tk kia all |
