At the end of the day, after wasting my time with needless back and forths, we are back to square one. ther is no sharia and you admited yorubas have coexisted with other religions in their families. Remember i didnt respond to you, you responded to my post and started all this waste of effort.


Stop allowing immigrantss in your land who are religiously intolerant to gaslight you into thinking there is a problem where there is none. The reason they flee their lands is because their inherent intolerance has turn their land into a wasteland. If you allow them to gaslight you to believe there is a problem when there is none they will turn your land into the land they flee from.

Trying so hard to elaborate,explain, proof and hold on to your point of view that their is no yoruba without a Muslim relative expect they are immigrants.

All well and good ekiti state just deny the existence of Islamic sharia court in the state.
We already know the omolawabis are known to be peaceful and tolerant for centuries,especially in the aspect of religion they co-exist well.
However, we wont just fold hand nd pretend blindly to the drum of war and discord among the yorubas lately.
Anything that would cause disunity, or threaten the peace and hamony of the people,in the name of the been torlerant should not be encouraged or tolerated. cheers

Either way the point which you seem now to acknowledge (see emboldened) is that it is normal to have different religions amongst relatives (close or extended) in yoruba land. So what was all the back and forth about?

Up until the age of possibly 35, I also would have sworn I had no Muslim relatives. As a child of about 13/14, when the friend I spoke about said to me my grandfather was probably a Muslim (he wasn’t) because his father (the papal knight) was born a Muslim, I could have sworn I had no Muslim relatives as I come from a family steeped in Christianity.

I have since found otherwise. Not just in my family but to find out many of my friends were actually Muslims and I never knew.


You don’t know is different from there are none. Western Educated Yoruba Muslims in particular are the hardest to spot unless they tell you or they address themselves by their Muslim names. They do all the things Christians do, Celebrate Xmas with Christians, drink alcohol, eat pork and bacon, are not in your face with their religion and usually, often you won’t know until they are grown adults, or their parents die etc etc or just feel a need to get closer to God in their advancing years that they are Muslims.

In fact, I only discovered about 3 months ago that my maternal great grandfather was a Muslim. His son, my maternal grandfather was actually a catechist. I actually till date do not know of any of my relatives on my grandfather’s side due to old family feuds who may likely be Muslims. Like I said never assume anything!

First of all learn how to reply like an educated person from the Ekiti you claim to be and not type into the message. Secondly, whether Ekiti or ijebu or ilorin or Ibadan, so long as you are yoruba if you dig well you will have a Muslim relative.

In fact an example I know very well is a friend from Ekiti who told me his father who was a papal knight was actually born a Muslim.

You do, you just don’t know or you are not yoruba. I had uncles and cousins that I only found out were Muslims when I was an adult. I have cousins I only found out one of their parents was a Muslim at their burial. I have friends I grew up with I didn’t even know were Muslim. Such is the prevalence you won’t even know.

Like I said except you are not a yoruba and are one of those immigrants pretending to be yoruba. It is almost impossible for you not to have Muslim relatives or possibly even your direct grandfather etc was a Muslim who converted to Christianity.

Lolzzz, you know my family too well than I do then.
For the fact that you have Muslims uncle and aunt, doesn't mean it's like that everywhere.
My grandparents were traditionalist,before my parent convert to Christians.
And I'm sure you know ekiti are Christians dominated state.
So it's possible we still dont have any muslim origin from any part.

I am a Christian. Christians go to their pastors and churches to resolve marital issues. I see no problem so long as they confine their matters to Muslims and not try to tell me where I can drink beer.

But there are also some Isese adherents that are purely traditional. They are in the minority.

I can even argue with you that some Muslim adherents go to church too and some Christian adherents go to Alfa to seek divine intervention. It is too interwoven.

My mom sister na muslim, but anything my mom get something for her church, she invite her sister and she will be there singing and dancing.

Same applicable to a lot of people. Even me self don go church many times and I identify as Muslim.
