Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture, Adesina Akinwunmi, has announced that about 6,618 youths have been trained on agriculture business and large scale farming. Akinwunmi made the statement at the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti during a programme to enlighten youths on how to create wealth, convened by the United Mandate. Akinwunmi, who was represented by Blaise Ogbozor, the Higher Education Officer in charge of gender and youth said young Nigerians were not making adequate use of the opportunities afforded to them by the government because of ignorance. He said: “Nigerian youths are so cynical and unaware of what is going on around them and especially about the government policies. Since 2012, government has been following a programme to revolutionise agriculture. “We must not leave agriculture to the old people and village people alone.” Also speaking at the event was the South-West programme officer of United Mandate, Olufemi Lawson, who explained the mission of the United Mandate to reach out to youths across the country. Lawson remarked thus: “The mentality of Nigerian youth is that government must provide job to them after school. The truth is that there is no government anywhere in the world that can employ all the youths. “We realised that there are windows of opportunity being created by government at federal and state levels like SMEDAN, YouWin, SURE-P, NAPEP etc. “We have come to enlighten students on how to tap into these opportunities. You don’t have to be a graduate before you can access some of these opportunities. By this, youth can become job creators instead of job seekers.” http://www.thetrentonline.com/6500-youths-trained-agriculture-business-large-scale-farming-minister/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter

Do you think its easy or possible to kill up to 30 supporters of a political party in a state under democratic settings especially in an enlightened country like Nigeria ? We should beg the APC to stop calling us fools in this country because it is getting out of hand the disdain with which they look down at our intellect. |
Op, your caption should have been APC has insulted the conscience and integrity of Nigerians since they were the ones who heckled and lobbied ceaselessly for Buhari to be given that speaking opportunity. |
The APC had earlier today apologized to Nigerians for trying to scam us with these photographs. Fayose should allow this case die down |
PhockPhockMan:Okorocha is gradually showing his colors as the thieving wicked snake he actually is |
yibomustgo:thats your own opinion |
Only once in this great nation have we truly believed we have a president who can completely turn our beloved country around for good. Mr President has fulfilled all his promises in all ramifications. We are all creatures of habit and our first impressions last a long time. With his vision and developmental agenda towards a united Nigeria, he has lifted the spirits of our people both at home and outside the shores of this great nation that it is much more powerful to get others to agree with you through action rather than words. The President has demonstrated that he is the president to all Nigerians. Today, the North and South can testify to this glorious truth . As a matter of fact, the people of South-East zone of Nigeria will be indebted to Mr President for his goodwill towards the zone that has been treated and neglected like an outcast over the years, today there is jubilation all over the place that the president has given them a good reason to believe that indeed they belong to Nigeria. The international airport and the second Niger bridge are a landmark achievement that will last forever in the minds of the S/E people. The things that seem insignificant to most Nigerians today such a roads, electricity, good governance becomes invaluable treasures kept safe in the heart of Nigerians to cherish forever. Mr President, you have distinguished clearly the difference between rulership and leadership. Indeed you are the great leader of our time , the Joshua of our generation. Lead us to the promised land, Nigerians have faith and confidence in your ability to continue with your vision and developmental achievement come 2015. Carry Go, No Shaking |
The APC never seizes to amaze right thinking Nigerians with their bare faced lies and outright falsehoods. I shudder to think what would happen if by any stroke of ill fate, they manage to grab hold of power at the center [I pray it never happens or Nigeria is done for with people like Tinubu and Amaechi in the background] |
