Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How I Interviewed My Secondary School Teacher For A Job Of 48k. by Advenblaze: 6:31am On Jun 08, 2017
manson5011:
Its obvious that life is a cycle.
There was this job vacancy in my place of work and 8 people did apply for it which they were to be interviewed yesterday.

By privilege as an Admin/Acct Officer I was authorized by my HR who was engaged in a crucial meeting to conduct the interview on his behalf so far I know what the company requires.

Lo and behold among them was my secondary school Teacher who did teaching practice (TP) when I was in SS1.

We were both shocked when we saw each other, looking at each other, I smiled and said Sir kindly have a seat.

We gist for 30mnts then I used 5mnts to ask him where he worked before now, that's all.

Meanwhile, I recommended him OK for the job and asked him to come and start work tomorrow.

It is good to live peacefully with all men as you may not know where your turning table will stop next.
The question is, was that a dishonesty for me to have picked him as there were 2 people who had professional certification ahead of him?

Nairalanders over to you!

In a very professional environment it is called conflict of interest(COI). it sounds as though you have done him a favor because you have not used the employment criteria to employ but have used "KNOW ME I KNOW YOU" methods which is out-rightly unprofessional.

however, he might be the most qualified based on your judgement of past experience ET AL, but hope your decision today wont come to hurt you later in your work life at that same company because humans(Nigerians) are very funny sometimes

i would only say watch your back

The quality of game played today at champions league final (Madrid vs juve) shows the EPL is still far behind in terms of quality football

The EPL with all the media hype is no where near.

My thoughts though
Education / Re: I Regret Bitterly Going To University. by Advenblaze: 9:15pm On Jun 03, 2017
nwaimostate5:
I opened this new moniker just to lay my frustrations as typical Nigeria youth who is tired of the whole system.

when I was in secondary school I was among the best in my class,is either I came first, second or third I never had any position below them.
my parents were so happy and proud of me and vow to train me up to University education even if it will cost them starving just make sure I attend University because they were poor.
After hearing this from them I became so happy and elevated (remember those feelings then that u will go to University, those feelings no be here) at that time I don't think about anything else except University, jamb, post utme , life in campus and any other thing relating to University.
I wrote my first jamb in 2009, scored above 260, then score relatevely high post utme but I was denied admission in one of the federal University in Nigeria not because I didn't meet the cut off mark but because I don't have money to runs the admission,I lost the admission that year and became so frustrated and dejected.
let Make it short, i have been writing jamb from 2009 till lastly in 2013 when I got admission to study marketing in one the state University in South East.
I,m in my final year now studying marketing just few months for me to graduate.
You may be wondering while i,m writing this, now let me tell you.
I,m writing this first because ......
1 I,m frustrated right now because after graduation I will start roaming the streets looking for job.
2 Had it been I use those time I spent in writing jamb and do business by now I would have been s millionaire by now.
3 Had it been my parents advice me to learn trade by now I would have been my own oga controlling millions.
4 I have to start afresh and enter the streets for hustling because there is no jobs out there, so why the certificate when I can read and write with secondary education.

Then, why did I spent all the years looking for certificate that I may not use tomorrow because streets pays more than salary.
I remember how I hustle during holidays to meet up the needs in school thinking after graduation good jobs are there waiting for me.
Should I said I wasted my time acquiring University education or what, somebody should answer me.
I think I regret Ever going to University.

I understand your pain and worries, its unfortunate we are in a country where the economic viability looks bleak and almost implausible. But I need to also remind you of the fact that your education in school is just a part of your educational package in life so don't be limited by it.

Look from within I believe there is something about you which natural that can give you a chance to a better life

Look from within and develop yourself

Wish you best of luck

Politics / Re: 'I Think Nigeria Is Getting Out Of Recession' - Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun by Advenblaze: 3:23pm On Jun 02, 2017
The Nigeria economy is way either way beyond or way below any global economic statistical models

At the grassroot recession is still biting hard

For the common who has been in recession from time immemorial it is worsening presently

So madam please rethink this your thought using the basic Nigerian model

Politics / Re: Why Buhari Chose UK Ahead Of Nigerian Hospitals — Lai Muhammad by Advenblaze: 8:48am On Jun 02, 2017
Uncle LAI meaning for 2years this government has been unable to build a formidable hospital at least for government officials, so as to limit medical trips abroad.

Its shameful sometimes when we call ourselves Nigerians sir and I imagine how long we will continue to exist like kids without parents

Most people here keep shouting go back to history as if they know actual history. As if they know how these men have mortgaged their future long time ago. Whether biafra or IPOB or one Nigeria we will all still remain in this circus of tribalism nepotism and partisanship.
Perhaps until we are ready to move above all mentioned we are still moving around the same circus

God who made us made as free moral agents but we have chosen divide ourselves with the tool of tribalism, hate and greed. Let us WAKE UP FROM THIS SLUMBER

Both men have had the chance to govern. Before we start recommending for presidency I think we need to look back at how they performed.
It doesn't have to be the same set of people for heaven's sake a completely neutral person is the president of France.
The youth needs to realise that their destinies is in their(youth) hands
