APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1 - Online application
Create an account, or login via an existing account

Next search for available opportunities by selecting the region and country of work location*

Apply and upload the latest version of your CV/résumé

Before submitting your application you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire

* When searching for opportunities please check you are eligible to work in the chosen country/location.

Step 2 - Online assessment
If successful during the application stage, you will receive an e-mail notification with instructions on how to complete the online assessment. There are two parts to the online assessment.

* NOTE: Each part must be completed and submitted within 7 working days before the links within the e-mails you receive expire.

Part 1: A series of competency-based questions

These will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and will not be timed. Once completed, you’ll receive an email notification with the outcome.

*NOTE: If you pass Part 1 of the online assessment you will receive an additional e-mail to notify that you have successfully completed Part 1 and this includes a link to begin Part 2 of the online assessment.

Part 2: Consists of two tasks: a decision-making and a problem-solving task: You will need to complete both tasks.

*NOTE: The decision-making task is not timed, but the problem-solving task is timed and you will have 18 minutes to complete it.

The decision-making task assesses how you respond to common situations that Shell graduates may face, and the problem-solving task assesses your capacity for solving numerical reasoning problems.

In total, part 2 of the online assessment should take approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Step 3 - An interview
Once you have submitted Part 2 of the online assessment we will review the results before contacting you to discuss a potential interview.

The interview will take place either face-to-face or over the telephone. This is an opportunity for you to tell us more about your motivations for applying, your achievements, the challenges you've faced and how you've demonstrated the qualities we're looking for.

Successfully passing your interview you could see yourself attending the Shell Recruitment Day, the final stage of the assessment process.

Step 4 - Shell Recruitment Day
Following success in the first-stage interview, you will attend an afternoon of non-assessed, interactive activities where you’ll be given further insights into our global businesses.

The next day you will complete a range of assessed exercises which include an online simulation exercise, a written task, group discussion, self-reflection interview, presentation-based case study and final interview.

Step 5 - An offer
The Shell Recruitment Day concludes your assessment. Upon completion, we’ll be in touch to let you know the final outcome for suitable places on our Graduate Programme.

This is just one of the best posts I've seen since my years of using nairaland. I thought this forum was useless until I stumbled upon this post. Now I have more reasons not to stop using nairaland. I wish I could give this your post 1000+ likes.

At this point let me quickly say that nobody is trying to discourage anybody...we're only trying to help each other, wat these ppl are saying is dt: in most other recruitment, once u pass the test,all of u dt passed the test are called for interview nd it continues like that but with shell passing the test only qualifies u to be in what I call a candidate pool, the ppl dt will be called for the interview will be a very small percentage nd not even all at once but in trickles around maybe 2 ppl in a month...so it's good that after passing the test don't put ur whole mind in it...just carry on with other stuffs nd WHENEVER they eventually call you,you'll be here.
However, I'm in full support of the point that the ppl they will call are part of the ppl in the pool so it can definitely be you or any other person here, offcos nobody said the ppl they eventually employ ain't Normal human beings like you..no, they're are ur normal everyday colleagues in school or elsewhere ....
So keep keeping hope alive nd keep keep ur options open, I believe you guys will understand better in another 6 months time wen over 50percent of the applications under review are still under review even tho they all got the 'success mail'...

Thank you for making us understand,i must say I appreciate you...Well this time around we just have to be positive and hope that things change since they even had to extend the application period,perhaps they needed more people to scale tru the first stage..

Whether it's a "make we test am" application or not WE DO NOT CARE! Whether they called u after 9months, well good luck to u,the thing is if shell didn't want to recruit they wouldn't have done this assessment thing and the fact that they even had to extend the application deadline says a lot and even means they need people. So guys please don't come here to discourage peeps trying to move forward in life after all " NO BE ANIMALS DEY WORK FOR SHELL" they are people like us and that means we can also get there. At least acknowledgment mail is better than regret mail and I can authoritatively tell u that those that will eventually work in shell are from those of us whose application is being considered...So my dear friends be HAPPY that ur application is being considered cuz u just scaled the first stage,be GRATEFUL and don't be dismayed or discouraged and above all be optimistic...put your faith to work,God bless u all!

Finally Shell has sent me a mail after 4 days,all thanks to God...For all those who completed their assessments on friday please check your mails,shell just sent me a success mail after completing my assessment on Friday. The mail was sent at 5:27pm...Guys don't be dismayed,may the good LORD help us all.

I'm among those that took the 2nd assessment on Friday and had no feedback.. anyways .... I sent them an email and they replied today that they have seen my assessment and my application is under review which is very hopeful ... so it's as simple as that .....

wow!...you actually sent them a message?...well that's cool,the thing is everyone who did the test from Friday didn't get any feedback,am one of those too.

I have tracked my application on their site and it says my application is under review,you can also do that on their website too. But were you having network issues while u were applying?Cuz the network was kinda bad while I was doing my test.

Please for curiosity sake, when the time is up for the second test (problem solving) without pressing the submit button, does it automatically submits?............Coz my friend is worked up over here.

Am sorry but it doesn't submit,thats why u have the submit button,u have to click submit even though you run outta time,but: u can still tell ur friend to click back on the link and see what it says quickly before the end of today cuz I tink ders still a chance for him/her to submit

Hello guys,good to be here,well I did both test one and test 2 for a friend yesterday and he got a mail that his application is now been considered and all that stuff,but just this morning I did mine both test one and two and I haven't gotten either a success mail or a regret mail,its running into 6hours now and meanwhile when I did my friend's it didn't take up to 30mins before they sent him a mail...am kinda uneasy though,just thinking aloud,what do y'all think?

lets be logical for once,it's quite clear without any silly doubt that the first test was quite simple and that a 12 year old could have aced it 100%?..Don't you all think those thousands of people who had enrolled for this program could have scored 100% thereby denting the chances of others who scored even 75%?...But to most people's surprise,he who scored 75% was picked for the next stage,why do u think that happened?...simple!..because contrary to what we had assumed,less than 15% scored 100%,giving others with lower scores d chance to be called for the next stage...In every assessment,especially one that has to do wit employment,there isn't anything called a "cut off mark" really...something like dat only exists if and only if results have been compiled and the general performance ascertained thereby creating a "benchmark" for selection..So if HARPS needs 100 candidates and out of 500 who enrolled,the highest score was 20,the next best score to 20 till it gets to the 100th person will be selected and the rest left out...That's how candidates are been selected.So if u think you scored 25% n 39%,chances are almost 70% of people had scored the same or even below,so ur chances are great!..But if like 70% scores very high like 70% to 80% in both exercises,then d benchmark will be raised except d next best person scores very low.

Maybe,or maybe am the guy that brings good news or even both...

Expect messages/phone calls by Thur/fri for the successful candidates only..Successful candidates who receive the calls/email/text this weekend should be 80% sure they're getting in for the training program..Be aware that the training will start towards the end of the month of July...The cut off has been known but am sorry guys I cannot reveal cuz I do not want to generate unnecessary emotions from any individual.Be rest assured that some of you have been selected...Cheers!
