One of Big Brother Naija housemates, Dorathy has revealed why she voted for Lilo’s eviction.

Lilo was evicted on Sunday during a live eviction show alongside Ka3na.

In a new twist, the ‘Lockdown’ housemates were instructed to pick two housemates out of Lilo, Eric, Praise and Ka3na who had the lowest number of their fan’s votes.

At the end of the selection, Lilo and Ka3na got the highest nominations and were evicted.

This is the first time housemates in the popular reality show will be voting out housemates from the show.

Dorathy was among those who chose Lilo to be evicted.

Giving her reason, the housemate speaking with Biggie on Monday during her diary session said she voted Lilo and Eric out because Ka3na and Praise are very close to her.

“Voting Lilo was one of the hardest decision, but I saved Ka3na and Praise because I was very close to them.

“I will miss their contribution in the house especially in the kitchen,” Dorathy told Biggie.

She added that she would like a male housemate to win the head of house because previous head of house have not had 100% control of the house.

Barely a few days after Ka3na and Praise got jiggy between the sheets, it appears BBNaija lovebirds, Erica and Kiddwaya have followed suit and fans are going wild with reactions.

Senator Ali Ndume has criticised the Federal Government’s amnesty to terrorists, saying that a repentant Boko Haram member, who was recently integrated into the community, killed his father, stole his wealth and disappeared.

Speaking on a BBC Hausa programme monitored in Kaduna State, Ndume, who represented Borno South in the Senate, queried government’s rationale for spending the nation’s funds to ‘reform’ the terrorists.

The lawmaker alleged that many of the ‘repentant’ Boko Haram members had since gone back to their former den. He said: “They are like Kharajites. Many among those released have since run away. They will never repent. The government should know what to do about them, but not re-introducing someone who killed your parent or relations to you.

“Haba, not that he even apologised to the government. His thinking is that the government has failed; hence they are being pampered.”

According to him, the government’s amnesty programme is unacceptable, insisting that the right thing is to stop the banditry.

“If there is sincerity of purpose in this, those in the Internally-Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps should have been trained in various trades, so that they could start life again,” he added.The BBC also featured a widow, who condemned the programme because the terrorists killed her husband.

“This thing is hurting. They killed my husband and son in my presence. I am left suffering with four young orphans. Till death, I will never forget that day.

“Look at the kind of care given to the Boko Haram members. We that have suffered for six years now are not taken care of. Truly, government has not done justice here,” she said. A male victim also told the BBC that Boko Haram killed his relations and chased them out of their home.

“They killed four of my close relations. In what capacity are we going to live with them again? Do we see them as human beings or animals? Or do they want us to meet them and take revenge? There will be a serious problem.”

“Go to Gwoza and Bama; many of the ‘repentant’ terrorists have rejoined the bandits. There is nothing you can do to change a Boko Haram member,” he added.

Woman Rescued After Being Chained To A Pillar By Her Abusive Husband In Ebonyi [Photos]

A middle-aged woman identified as Mrs Ngozi Chukwuani has been rescued after she was chained to a pillar by her husband, Uche Chukwuani, in Ebonyi State .

The woman was said to have been rescued by men of the Ekeaba police division in Ebonyi after husband fled with the key to the padlock.

The neighbours, who witnessed the incident, said Ngozi’s husband hit their daughter’s head with the chain while she was trying to stop him from beating her mother.

Ngozi was reported to have said that her husband chained her after threatening to deal with her because his mistress is suffering.

Nchekwube Saints Anakor, the special assistant to Governor David Umahi on security and utility, condemned the incident.

He also said he had instructed a welder to remove the chains from Ngozi and assured that the suspect would soon be arrested and prosecuted.

“This evening at no.1 Ike street, Mr Uche Chukwuani chained his wife to a pillar in their building and ran away with the key. Thanks to Ekeaba police whose timely response saved the situation.

“I had to send a welder who cut the chain. One question kept on coming to my mind, what did this woman do to warrant being chained like a dog by her own husband. Does whatever transpired warrant such dehumanization?

“Always be careful in what you do for ignorance is no excuse in law. I am always on patrol till daybreak expecting to hear from you. The Neighborhood Watch is stationed in every part of the town protecting ur areas. Reach out to them for any challenges or call me,” Anakor said.



KanyiDaily had reported how the police arrested a father who kept his children in chains , broke one of the children’s fingers with hammer and poured salt in their bleeding wounds.

How Much It Cost To Set Up BBNaija Lockdown house

It cost about N2.5 billion to set up the house currently used for the 2020 edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality TV show, according to sources close to the show’s organisers. TheCable Lifestyle reports that the cost of the edifice was not unconnected to the newly introduced structures included for this year’s edition of the show. The figure “includes construction costs of over N300 million, N2 billion spent on production equipment such as consoles, cameras, microphones, cables, lighting, audio, and so on. Hundreds of millions also went into the provision of utilities, information technology and safety systems, building modifications, COVID-19 adaptations to the house among others.” Multichoice, organisers of the show, also “spent an additional N1 billion or more, on the actual production of the show, including the engagement of over 300 full-time employees and talent involved in the production of the show, in and outside the BBNaija house.” Other structures include a personal suite comprising of a private bedroom, fitted bathroom, and a personal lounge/sitting area for head of house (HoH) and a salon for the housemates. The development comes at about the same time when TheCable Lifestyle also learnt that the show would boost the Nigerian economy by about N2 billion. The fifth edition of the show started on July 19 and has since been stirring discussions as the battle for the N85 million grand prize heats up. Multiple sources had earlier told TheCable how Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, had asked the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to take the reality show off the air, citing fears of a possible spread of COVID-19 among housemates. Two persons have been confirmed dead in a gas explosion that rocked Afariogun Street in the Ajao area of Lagos State yesterday evening Tuesday, July 28.



The explosion started from a shop used in refilling gas cylinders. Nine shops were razed in the explosion and a number of cars were also burnt.

According to reports, the accident happened after a 62-year-old woman, who runs a cooking gas shop and her 32-year-old daughter were called back to their shop to attend to a “regular customer” who came to fill a gas cylinder. The woman returned and successfully attended to the customer. However, the sad incident happened when the customer tried putting the gas cylinder into a waiting tricycle, it fell and exploded.

The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident, said the fire had been extinguished and that the bodies of the deceased persons have been evacuated from the scene of the incident.

FG extends phase two of eased lockdown by one week

The federal government on Monday July 27, extended the phase two of the ease of lock-down in the country by one week.

Mr Boss Mustapha, the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 who made the announcement said President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the extension of phase two of the eased lockdown which was due to expire on Wednesday July 29.

He said;

“We informed you two weeks ago that the process of submitting the 6th Interim Report and recommendations for next steps had commenced,” said Mustapha who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

“The PTF has reached advanced stages of the process. It has also considered that due to the upcoming Sallah (Eid-El-Kabir) festivities which coincide with the expiration of the current phase, it would be prudent to extend by one week, from 29th July 2020 till Thursday 6th August 2020.

“It has accordingly secured permission to retain the existing guidelines until that date.”

Mustapha also stated that the level of compliance with the existing COVID-19 protocols was discouraging, stressing that a majority of Nigerians have continued to live in denial of the dangerous nature of the disease.

Any observer who had only seen flashes of Arsenal's final game of the season would have been entitled to assume Mikel Arteta would be beaming with delight when his players made their way to the bench for the first half drinks break.

A Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang penalty, awarded after a lengthy VAR review, and Kieran Tierney's strike had fired Arsenal into a 2-0 lead over Watford inside the first quarter of the game, a result that at the time of writing was taking the Gunners from 10th to eighth in the table.

Yet after Tierney's goal the Arsenal squad returned to a thunderous rollicking from Arteta, whose side had spent much of the preceding minutes struggling to advance out of their area under huge pressure from Watford, themselves in the grips of the relegation battle.

They were doing all they could to extricate themselves from the bottom three in the minutes after Aubameyang's goal, with Troy Deeney seeing a powerful header blocked by Rob Holding and Emiliano Martinez saving well from Ismaila Sarr and Roberto Pereyra.

With 1978 FA Cup Final song 'Roll Out The Red Carpet' ringing around the Emirates Stadium it was not entirely clear what Arteta had been saying but the tenor of his message was clear from his stoney expression and furious gesticulating.
