Phones / How To Clean And Sanitize Your Charging Cables, Adapters, And Chargers by AfeezLincoln(m): 10:44pm On Jun 30, 2023
In our modern world, charging cables, adapters, and chargers have become essential tools for keeping our devices powered up. However, we often neglect to clean and sanitize them, even though they accumulate dirt, grime, and germs over time.

Cleaning and sanitizing these accessories not only improves their performance but also ensures our safety and well-being.

In this article, we will guide you through the process of effectively cleaning and sanitizing your charging cables, adapters, and chargers, keeping them in optimal condition and free from harmful pathogens.

Why is it important to clean and sanitize charging cables, adapters, and chargers?

Charging cables, adapters, and chargers come into contact with various surfaces, including our hands, pockets, bags, and even the floor. This exposes them to dirt, dust, and potentially harmful bacteria and viruses.

Neglecting to clean these accessories can lead to a buildup of grime and germs, which can affect their performance and pose a risk to our health. Regularly cleaning and sanitizing them helps prevent the spread of germs, ensures reliable charging, and extends their lifespan.

Tools and materials needed

Before you begin the cleaning process, gather the following tools and materials:

1. Mild dish soap
2. Microfiber cloth
3. Soft-bristled brush
4. Isopropyl alcohol (at least 70% concentration)
5. Cotton swabs
6. Compressed air canister (optional)
7. Distilled water (for rinsing, if needed)
8. A clean, dry towel

Precautions to take before cleaning

Before you start cleaning, there are a few precautions to keep in mind:

Always unplug the charging cable, adapter, or charger from the power source before cleaning.
Avoid using excessive moisture to prevent damage to the electronic components.
Check for any visible damage or frayed cables. If you notice any, it's best to replace the accessory instead of cleaning it.

Cleaning and sanitizing charging cables

Follow these steps to clean and sanitize your charging cables effectively:

Step 1: Unplug the cable

Always start by disconnecting the cable from the power source and your device. This ensures your safety and prevents accidental damage during the cleaning process.

Step 2: Inspect for any damage

Carefully examine the cable for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires or bent connectors. If you notice any issues, it's advisable to replace the cable to avoid potential safety hazards.

Step 3: Dust and debris removal

Use a soft-bristled brush or a dry microfiber cloth to gently remove any dust or debris from the cable's connectors and insulation. Be thorough but gentle to avoid causing damage.

Step 4: Cleaning the cable

Create a solution of warm water and mild dish soap. Dip a clean microfiber cloth into the solution and wring out any excess liquid. Wipe the entire length of the cable, paying close attention to areas that are visibly dirty. Avoid saturating the cable with the cleaning solution.

Step 5: Sanitizing the cable

To sanitize the cable, dampen a cotton swab or a clean microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Gently rub the connectors and other areas of the cable that come into contact with your hands or devices. Isopropyl alcohol effectively kills germs and evaporates quickly, making it safe for use on electronic accessories.

Step 6: Drying the cable

After cleaning and sanitizing, allow the cable to air dry completely. Ensure it is completely dry before reconnecting it to the power source or your device to avoid potential electrical damage.

Cleaning and sanitizing adapters

Cleaning and sanitizing adapters follows a similar process to that of charging cables. Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Unplug the adapter

Disconnect the adapter from the power source and any connected devices before cleaning.

Step 2: Inspect for any damage

Check the adapter for any visible damage or abnormalities. If you find any, it's recommended to replace the adapter to prevent potential risks.

Step 3: Dust and debris removal

Use a soft-bristled brush or a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and debris from the adapter. Pay attention to the prongs and other accessible areas.

Step 4: Cleaning the adapter

Dampen a clean microfiber cloth with a mild dish soap solution. Gently wipe the surface of the adapter, ensuring not to use excessive moisture. Clean any visible dirt or stains.

Step 5: Sanitizing the adapter

Use a cotton swab or a clean microfiber cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol to sanitize the surfaces that come into contact with your hands or power outlets. Ensure all areas are properly cleaned.

Step 6: Drying the adapter

Allow the adapter to air dry completely before reconnecting it to a power source or any devices.

Cleaning and sanitizing chargers

Chargers also require regular cleaning and sanitization. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Unplug the charger

Before you begin cleaning, unplug the charger from the power source and any connected devices.

Step 2: Inspect for any damage

Inspect the charger for any signs of damage, such as frayed cables or loose connections. Replace the charger if necessary.

Step 3: Dust and debris removal

Use a soft-bristled brush or a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and debris from the charger. Pay attention to the charging ports and any vents.

Step 4: Cleaning the charger

Prepare a mild dish soap solution and dampen a clean microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the charger's surfaces, ensuring not to introduce excessive moisture. Remove any visible dirt or stains.

Step 5: Sanitizing the charger

Moisten a cotton swab or a clean microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Carefully sanitize the charging ports and other areas that come into contact with your hands or devices.

Step 6: Drying the charger

Allow the charger to air dry completely before plugging it back into the power source or connecting it to any devices.

Proper storage and maintenance</h2>

After cleaning and sanitizing your charging cables, adapters, and chargers, it's essential to store them properly. Keep them in a clean, dry area away from excessive heat, moisture, or direct sunlight. Avoid bending or twisting the cables excessively, as this can lead to damage over time. Additionally, periodically check the cables, adapters, and chargers for any signs of wear and tear, and replace them as needed to ensure safe and efficient charging.

Conclusion

Regularly cleaning and sanitizing your charging cables, adapters, and chargers is crucial for maintaining their performance and promoting your safety. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can keep these accessories in optimal condition, free from dirt, grime, and harmful pathogens.

Remember to take necessary precautions, use appropriate cleaning materials, and store your accessories properly to prolong their lifespan and ensure reliable charging for your devices.

The Top 10 Best Audio Editing Apps for Android

What is Audio Editing App?
Audio editing apps are software that allows you to edit the sound of a recording.

What is audio editing?

Audio editing is a process that involves manipulating audio material in order to improve the quality of the sound or to create new sounds. It can also be used for creating music and sounds for video games and films. Audio editing is done using audio software, which has a graphical user interface (GUI).

There are various kinds of audio editing tools:

Sound Editing Apps: Sound editing apps are software that allows you to edit the sound of a recording. They allow you to cut out unwanted parts, add effects, and change volume levels.
Mastering Apps: Mastering apps allow you to do final tweaks on your recordings before releasing them into the world. They can add EQs and compressors, as well as normalize the volume of tracks.
Synthesizer Apps: Synthesizer apps allow you to create and edit sounds from scratch. They have various parameters or knobs that you can use to adjust their sound, which makes them great for creating new sounds and music.
Professional audio editing software can be used to edit and modify sounds. It can also be used to record, mix and master sound recordings.

What are the Primary Considerations When Choosing the Best Audio Editing Apps for Andriod?
The first consideration when choosing an audio editing app is the price of the app. Some audio editing apps are free while others charge a fee for their services.

The second consideration is whether you need a mobile app or not. If you do, then you should consider how much data storage space the app will take up on your device as well as how much battery power it will use up.

The third consideration is whether you need to edit music or not since some apps only allow for video editing while others allow for both video and music.

The fourth consideration is whether you need to edit multiple tracks simultaneously or not since some apps only allow for one track at a time.

Science/Technology / 4 Most Secure Messaging Apps For 2020 by AfeezLincoln(m): 7:24pm On Aug 06, 2020
Nearly everyone reading this piece right now, if not everyone, has used at least one instant messaging application in the past. It could also be that you are still using one right now. After all, how else do we explain a population of about 1.6 billion users on WhatsApp alone?

It is also no news that we rarely think about how safe and secure these apps are before we go for them. All that will change today as we review some of the safest picks for you – and why they have earned such accolades too.

Signal

Even if we did not know any other thing about Signal, we are sure that it is one IM app that is endorsed by Edward Snowden himself.

Being a privacy enthusiast himself, this shows you how much has gone into the privacy and security of this chat app. It is also worthy of note that the app is supported by Brian Acton (co-founder of WhatsApp) who left the WhatsApp team partly because he didn’t agree with how Facebook was running the privacy of the app.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp introduced end-to-end encryption in the year 2016, and they have only gone on to add more security features between that time and now.

We have seen the inclusion of a two-factor authentication system for better account protection. The app developers have now also allowed for secure login with biometrics (fingerprint and facial unlocking systems). This is alongside the options of using a passcode if that is what the user desires.

Viber

Launched as a competitor to Skype, the Viber app is now the bigger one in terms of privacy and security.

Like WhatsApp, they also brought their end-to-end encryption system to the chat panel in the year 2016. Where they make things better is how they color code chats to show how well it is encrypted. Thus, you are always kept in the loop on how safe and secure the conversation that you are holding with a contact on your list is.

However, it should be noted that end-to-end encryption does not apply to group chats. It would only work in individual chats.

Telegram

Need we say more?
What drove most people to Telegram as a direct competitor to WhatsApp was how simple and efficient everything was on that platform. We also have to mention the fact that they have a better way of keeping media quality (such as from pictures) than WhatsApp can manage.

However, that is not even what makes the app special. Right from the very first build, this has been an app that had security at the core of its operations.

End-to-end encryption is a standard, so we won’t even talk about that here. Disappearing messages that will be shown to the recipient and self-destruct continue to show how secure the channel is.
Likewise, you can order your messages to be deleted on the side of the recipient too to keep a safer profile.

Ensuring Better Chatting Safety

Although these apps are highly safe and secure already, they could leave room for lapses and hacks. Where Viber won’t encrypt group messages from end to end, using the others on a pubic Wi-Fi network will expose all your internet traffic and chat data too.

To put your chat apps on a bigger security platform is to use a secure VPN too. That routes your internet data through a ton of servers, making it impossible for anyone to possibly follow and even hack into your chats.

Romance / 5 Things That Will Make A Long-distance Boyfriend Love You More by AfeezLincoln(m): 6:53am On May 15, 2020
How to Make a Long-Distance Boyfriend Love You More

Relationships can have a fair share of conflicts and problems in any normal situation. Admittedly, even healthy relationships have had their ups and downs. And with long-distance relationships, you can't rule out the possibility of a fight with your partner. Without spicy words, distance can create a huge gap between two inseparable lovers. No wonder the cliché "disappeared from sight"

Of course, long-distance relationships have advantages and disadvantages. First of all, a long-distance relationship can help strengthen the relationship between you and your man every day, because you constantly miss yourself and try to do things that would bridge the gap between you.

However, the less attractive part of a long-distance relationship is out of sight of your partner. In the most extreme cases, it can get you out of your mind quickly, and we don’t want that, do we? Of course not! That is why this article is timely. In this article, you will get all the connection tips you need to start a long distance relationship.

Here are some great relationship tips that will make your boyfriend fall in love with you from afar, even miles away. I hope you will master this and introduce into your relationship some of the best healthy relationships that exist.

1. Prepare before you leave.

Saying goodbye to your lover, at the very least, can be heartfelt, but you don’t have to look messy and disgusting because he’s so far away from you. If you’d like to stay behind rather than leave, do something for your appearance; Get a new sexy hairstyle or go to face beauticians to make your skin glow. Treat yourself to a new wardrobe, beautiful new shoes, a sexy dress and a flattering blouse in which you feel and feel amazing. It goes well for him, even at the airport, when you say goodbye, to know exactly who he’s leaving behind. Your boyfriend will surely have more interest in you than ever with his new look and everything.

2. Limit the urge to call them every day.

Yes, the phone is now everything that connects you and it is good to feel the pressure to always be in touch with it. But you will exaggerate if you call or text every minute. Trust me, kids sometimes want their own space. So instead of loving you more, it will only irritate you with your constant calls. So step back a little (it’s for your own good).

Occasionally you can leave a call on voicemail or postpone replying to an SMS. When you wait a few hours before the call, you will get better results. I'm sure he'll be so excited to hear your voice, why? Because he really missed you!

3. Let him know you're having fun.

Do you want to show your heart that it misses a lot? Go shopping with friends, hang out, go to the movies, do something adventurous while your boyfriend isn’t far away and be sure to take selfies! Share these photos with him later giving him subtle advice to have fun on your own and not be depressed. This will put him on his fingertips if he really loves you. Do this often and your man could bring you the next available flight because he wants it so badly.

4. Use social platforms that allow you to see your face.

In today’s world of modern technology on the internet, you can do almost nothing. This is an advantage for you, so take advantage of all the communication options that allow you to talk to your partner every day. To this end, social media platforms like Snapchat and Facebook have proven to be very useful. All you have to do is set a date to talk on one of these platforms, and don’t forget to prepare to be beautiful the way they will see you!

5. Don't use jealousy.

If you want to have a healthy relationship with your man, even if it is a long relationship, it is not recommended to use jealousy to miss or love more.

Sure you let him know you’re having fun while he’s away from you, but don’t rub anything on his face to make him jealous. It won’t make a boyfriend from afar love you, it will simply make you feel insecure in your relationship with you, and it could be the beginning of the end of your relationship, a great distance, or anything else.

I hope this relationship advice was exciting?

Romance / 10 Helpful Ways To Overcome Heartbreak by AfeezLincoln(m): 2:11am On Oct 06, 2019
Contrary to popular belief, heartbreak does not exist only between couples in relationships. Heartbreak can arise from betrayal in friendships, conflict within families, the passing on of loved ones, or just feeling lost in our lives. Heartbreak not only involves an emotional struggle, but it does have an effect physically as well. Studies have shown that your brain registers the emotional pain of heartbreak in the same way as physical pain — which is why you might feel like your heartbreak also causes actual physical hurt.

All of us have experienced our own versions of heartbreak over the years. Here are some of the ways To Overcome Heartbreak I have personally dealt with heartbreak:
1. Cry
For a long period of time, I was convinced that crying was showing weakness — and weakness was the last thing I ever wanted to show anyone in my life. For a few years, I was adamant to not show any emotion other than happiness. It was something I became so obsessed with keeping up, that I became proud of it. I would internally snicker when the public was unable to see past my persona. My happiness was not always played up — there were many times where my happiness had been genuine. However, I found myself trying so much harder to upkeep that happiness to the public especially when I was not feeling it. It took me a while to realize how far I went, to the point where I was unable to recognize myself. Allowing myself to cry when I needed to was one of the first steps I had to take. Crying allowed me to tear myself apart and really question what I had been feeling. Crying allowed me to feel emotions other than happiness — crying made me become more human again. Crying signifies a cleanse in a way, to purge pent-up emotions.

2. Talk it out
I wrote about the importance of talking to friends when we struggle, but I also admitted to being one of the biggest hypocrites when it comes to this advice. I was so concerned about burdening my friends with my problems, that I ended up not saying anything at all. I was so concerned that they would worry about my problems, that I made sarcastic jokes about my struggles and moved on. I did a lot of touch-and-go when it came to my personal struggles and was relieved no one seemed to pick up on it.
Yet here I am, telling you that one of the ways I got over heartbreak, was to talk it out. When one is going through heartbreak, it also takes on a physical toll. And this physical toll in some ways saved me. The physical toll allowed me opportunities to talk about what I was feeling because it became obvious to the people in my life that I wasn’t doing fine. But I should not have gone to the extent of my physical self deteriorating to talk about what I was going through. It was not the physical toll that saved me, it was the result of being able to talk about what I was feeling — that was what helped me move forward.
3. Forgive
I know, you must be thinking — why? Why is this important? Can’t I just hate the person and move on with my life?
Forgiveness was one of the biggest and most important steps I have ever decided to take. Don’t get me wrong, forgiveness as pure as the idea is, hurts like all hell. Forgiveness isn’t easy. Not to mention that you may be trying to do this in the midst of your own self-worth being torn to shreds. Contrary to the belief that forgiveness allows the other person to get away scot-free, forgiveness was actually the best decision I made for me. I was able to slowly make peace with what had happened, make peace with the people involved, and make peace with myself. I was able to make peace with myself because I knew that I was acting out of genuine love, and I did everything I could to get on with life without saying “if only I did this”. Hatred was never beneficial in the long run, it was Forgiveness that was holding the key to closure I didn’t know I needed.
4. Invest yourself into what you are passionate about
I’m not going to lie, but the time period when I was going through heartbreak was one of the most productive periods of my life. I was joining everything I was interested in, I was putting myself out there, and I became more vocal. It was during this time of my life that I was trying to re-discover who I was again amidst the pain I was going through. When something monumental happens in your life, you may find yourself way above the ground — floating aimlessly and questioning everything you ever believed. You may feel lost, you may wander. However, you can turn around this stage of your life to be the stage you grow the most. I was getting over heartbreak by investing more in finding out who I was and who I wanted to become.

Science/Technology / Facebook Reveals New Portal, Portal Mini, And Portal TV Devices by AfeezLincoln(m): 5:25pm On Sep 18, 2019
Looks like Facebook decided to come clean about how it’s been handling—or mishandling—audio recordings from its Portal devices on the same day that it’s announcing an updated set of Portal gadgets.

As it took the wraps off its new Portal, Portal Mini, and Portal TV devices on Wednesday morning, Facebook execs admitted to Bloomberg that not only had it been collecting “Hey Portal” audio recordings, it had also been sharing them with third-party contractors for review. Bloomberg originally broke the news of how Facebook shared audio clips from Portal users in August.

Facebook hardware exec Andrew Bosworth told Bloomberg that the company had “paused” the “human review” of Portal audio recordings last month, a move that mirrors those of Amazon, Apple, and Google following similar revelations that third parties had reviewed recordings from Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant.

With the arrival of its three new Portal devices (the original Portals came out last October), Facebook says it’s turning human review of “Hey Portal” recordings back on, albeit with a clarified privacy policy, the option to opt-out of the program, and a physical switch and camera covers on the revamped Portal gadgets that will turn off their cameras and microphones and block camera lenses. A red light will indicate that cameras and mics are switched off. The option to opt-out of the program implies that users will be enrolled by default.

While human review of Portal voice recordings are back on, that’s not the case for the review of Facebook Messenger recordings, which is still on pause, Bloomberg notes. Making Messenger calls to friends and family on Portal devices is one of the primary features of the gadgets.
Meet Facebook’s new Portal devices: the Portal, Portal Mini, and Portal TV, now equipped with physical switches for turning off their cameras and microphones.
Meet Facebook’s new Portal devices: the Portal, Portal Mini, and Portal TV, now equipped with physical switches for turning off their cameras and microphones.

Oh, and this might be a good time to mention the three new Portal devices: the Portal Mini and the Portal, which are 8- and 10-inch smart displays designed primarily for video chat and viewing Facebook pictures, as well as Portal TV, a compact black bar that sits in front of on on top of your TV that lets you make video calls on your TV set.

Set for release on October 15, the Portal Mini ($129) and Portal ($179) both feature AI-controlled Smart Cameras that follow you as you move around the room (we’re trying not to get creeped out here), handy for staying in frame while you’re chatting with your Facebook friends. A new features is the ability to make WhatsApp calls, with Facebook assuring us that the calls will be end-to-end encrypted.

Beyond making video calls, the new Portal devices feature a “Superframe” mode that shows off your favorite photos and videos, as well as displaying birthday reminders.

Both the Portal and Portal Mini boast built-in Amazon Alexa, meaning you can ask Alexa to tell you about the weather, play tunes, read news headlines, or set an alarm. You can also watch movies and TV shows via apps for Amazon Prime Video, Showtime, CBS All Access, Starz, and more.
The $149 Portal TV, meanwhile, is a black bar that resembles Microsoft’s essentially defunct Kinect sensors for Xbox consoles.
Facebook’s new Portal TV lets you make video calls over your TV set, and yes, you can turn the camera and microphone off when you want privacy.
Facebook’s new Portal TV lets you make video calls over your TV set, and yes, you can turn the camera and microphone off when you want privacy.

Once you put the Portal TV (which is slated to ship on November 5) in front of or on top of your TV, it lets you make full-screen video calls on your TV set, with the built-in Smart Camera (again) able to follow you around the room as you chat.

Getting back to the whole issue of so-called “human review” of audio interactions with smart assistants: the controversy blew up earlier this summer when news broke that Apple, Amazon, and Google had shared the recordings with third parties. All three of the tech giants have since rolled out privacy settings allowing users to opt-out of human review of their voice interactions with the assistants.

While reviewing voice interactions with Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant, and Facebook Portal is one of the best ways to make smart assistants smarter, the lack of disclosure (quite rightly) raised the hackles of privacy experts and just about anyone who was worried about their smart speakers listening to them.

The timing of Facebook’s admission that it was collecting Portal voice recordings might seem pretty bad given that it’s unveiling new Portal devices on the very same day. That said, there’s a strong possibility that Facebook timed the news to minimize blowback on the day of its Portal product launch.

THE MOST SCARY GORGON IN THE HORRIFIC WORLD OF NOLLYWOOD BY OLADELE IDOWU

WHO IS IYA GBONKAN?

Margret Dele Olayinka "Mojoyinola" popularly called IYA GBONKAN is a talented actress with huge gifts of acting and creative abilities. Mere looking at her could knock you off your feet, even as an adult. She was a real Medusa we feared to see on the screens while we were younger. Her scary appearance would always reappear in our heads while on beds at nights after watching her movie.

IYA GBONKAN had featured in many evergreen movies of the times, and she had partaken in the many TV series. Her natural physique aided and befitted all her roles as a weird sister. With her look, she needed no further costume to act a gnome or to appear like a female demon.
IYA GBONKAN came into the spotlight in the early 70s, her first set of acting career was recorded during the evergreen legendary IFA OLOKUN's TV series by Pa Yemi Elebu'bon.

I still remember her role as ORO-MODI-MODI in one of the IFA OLOKUN's weekly episodes titled 'Oro Modi Modi'. She acted a goddess that paid a courtesy visit to Orumila, the Ifa priest..., she had warned her host that on no condition must anyone take a lit lamp (Atupa) to look at her in the eyes. The priest warned his wife and listed all the dos and donts while she stays with them.

ORO-MODI-MODI was given one solitary room in the priest's house and she always remained behind closed door inside her room. No one must see her face-to-face except the priest.

The priest's wife only had to place her meals at the door, and ORO-MODI-MODI would sneak out quietly to take her meals without any eye seen her. She was going to stay for seven days with them, and she had it in mind to leave abundant wealth behind for her host.., that would be her pay-back for a generous hospitality she must have enjoyed while staying with them.

On the sixth day..., the priest's wife was deep in avid thought, she became grossly worried and over-zealously inquisitive.., she wanted to know who the hell that took the calabash bowl of food she always placed at the doorstep as commanded by her husband.

She defied her husband warning, took a man-like courage and forced the door open while holding a lit lamp in her left hand.
As the door creaked to open silently, the scary outburst by ORO-MODI-MODI alone was too thunderous, "Ha! O Se Yi Tan..." She screamed like a rattle snake.

Her thunderous echoes could abort and wash down a seven month old pregnancy as she struck the priest's wife like an angry scorpion.
The sudden tumult of her wild screaming was like a volcano as she screamed loudly...., "Iwo Gbe'Nan W'Oju Ekun Lai S'Awo..," She fired her.

As little children at that time, we would almost faint as if the woman was capable of cracking the thick walls of the screen of our TV set to attack us too like a dreadful vampire.

In KOTO ORUN she acted OLORI-EMERE and in the same movie by late Alhaji Yekinni AJILEYE., KOLEDOWO, that lousy naughty, dubbed her 'Iya Gbonkan', and which was indeed most suitable name because of her sub-human structure and abnormal size, and ever since, people refer to her as that..., IYA GBONKAN.
IYA GBONKAN's acting prowess can best be portrayed among her movie colleagues like Olori ABIOYE, OYIBOYI, OGUNJIMI AND Iya ABENI AGBON, these TV-cinema giants were capable of turning the broad daylight into a complete darkness.

Only ABIJA.., the god-sent Perseus.., who was capable of cutting down the wings of the weird queens of the night in the occult world through the tel-guided and omnipresent metaphysical power of AJAN. AJAN was like a Holy Ghost of the Christendom..., he saw everything before it happened and like Nokia 3310 he would vibrate and pass information to ABIJAWARA whenever a trouble looms.

All Alhaji AJILEYE's movies are known for their richness in revealing the secrets of the realm of the occult. KOTO ORUN was one of such movies of horror that you will never want to miss again if you have the chance to watch it once more. KOTO AYE was released after the KOTO ORUN, all of them by the same AJILEYE, including ERAN IYA OSHOGBO wish was his last movie.

KOLEDOWO had eight children in KOTO ORUN movie and all of them were killed and roasted as suya by these angels of the darkness under the leadership of our own IYA GBONKAN.

Alhaji Yekinni AJILEYE died several years ago, his wife Olori ABIOYE had died years before him. KOLEDOWO was not only known to be an actor but also a Fuji musician that was famous in Oshogbo town and beyond before he died some years ago.

IYA GBONKAN is still hale and hearty. We wish her more years on earth. But funny enough IYA GBONKAN is just playing a role she knows how to do best in her chosen career, I can bet, she's ain't a witch in real life.., there's nothing to fear about her, she's but a Painted Devil.

IYA GBONKAN SHALL FOREVER REMAIN THE MOST DREADFUL AMONG THE QUEENS OF THE NIGHT IN THE NOLLYWOOD.

Literature / #faceappchallenge: Moral Lessons From Faceapp Challenge by AfeezLincoln(m): 11:45am On Jul 23, 2019
FaceApp Beyond Fun

It’s not new that FaceApp which was developed by Wireless Lab is the trending app going viral on social media with #faceappchallenge. This app enable users to change their facial appearance, it can change face to the past current and future appearance. The app can transform a face to make it smile, look younger, look older, or change gender.

It is fun though, but there are lots of messages or lesson this app is passing but many can’t relate.

It is a constant reminder that this beautiful face and skin of ours won’t be like this forever. We need to make uses of our healthy time, when we have the opportunity to work with our full strength.

Another message from this is to make use of our time wisely do the needful at the right time. Do not get away with useless things in life. As the past face appearance generated by the app can’t be reversed so as the time wasted can’t be reversed.

To every sunshine there is always a sunset. And no matter how beautiful the sunset it will surely go dark. Nothing last forever, make hay when the sunshine.

Science/Technology / How To Request Faceapp To Wipe/remove Your Data From Its Servers by AfeezLincoln(m): 4:02pm On Jul 21, 2019
FaceApp is the talk of the town right now. FaceApp is a mobile application for iOS and Android developed by Russian company Wireless Lab which uses neural network technology to automatically generate highly realistic transformations of faces in photographs. The app can transform a face to make it smile, look younger, look older, or change gender. This app was developed by Wireless Lab. Operating system: iOS, Android

Recently, it was discovered that there are lot of privacy concerns guiding this app. The biggest of ’em all is that according to the app’s privacy policy, your photos and data can be use for commercial purposes.

In a recent clarification, FaceApp’s founder, Yaroslav Goncharov, said the company doesn’t share any data with any third parties. Goncharov also included that users can request to get their data erased from FaceApp’s servers.

How to request FaceApp to wipe/remove your data from its servers

Here’s how you can do it:

Open FaceApp on your phone.

Go to Settings > Support > Report a bug.

And report a bug with ‘Privacy’ as the subject line, and description to request the data removal.

The data removal might take some time as Goncharov said, “our support team is currently overloaded, but these requests have our priority.” He added that the team is working on a better interface to make this process easy.

Its highly recommend making a data removal request until clouds of doubt around the app clears up.

Nairaland / General / Life Is A Continuous Struggle - Dele Momodu by AfeezLincoln(m): 1:54pm On Jul 08, 2019
Nigerian journalist/publisher, businessman, philanthropist, and motivational speaker, Chief Dele Momodu. Who is the CEO and publisher of Ovation International, Recently in his post shared on Instagram, with a caption “life as a continuous struggle.” In his post shared where he explained how he started his journey.

He wrote in the picture;

I was born relatively poor. My father died while I was barely 13, and I was left with a mother who had no education but knew the value of it. I wrote WAEC paper three times, 1976,1977 and 1978, before I made enough credits to qualify for University admission. I wasted no time blaming others for my problems; instead, I spent time preparing for an onslaught against demonic poverty. I’ve never been in direct government employment. I don’t do contracts. I know only media and try hard to be the best in what I do and pray to God to answer your prayers and bless you too…

Good morning Africa... Life has not always been easy... In fact, Life is a continuous struggle for most people, the reason you should not judge a book by its cover... Hating those you hardly know, or even your friends is no solution to your own failures or challenges... May God bless your hustle...

Romance / #saynotorape - 7 Ways To Avoid Rape by AfeezLincoln(m): 2:27pm On Jul 03, 2019
Rape is a heinous act performed when one party wishes to exact complete power and control over another. The definition of rape, according to the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network is:

". . . forced sexual intercourse, including vaginal, anal, or oral penetration. Penetration may be by a body part or an object."

Rape is often known as "sexual assault" or "sexual abuse," particularly in the law. However, sexual assault and sexual abuse are defined more broadly whereas the term rape specifies intercourse.

Threats of violence or weapons may be used during rape but in about 8-out-of-10 cases, nothing but the physical force is used. Weapons or threats are not required for an act to be considered rape.

It is important to know that either gender can be the perpetrator or the victim of rape. Additionally, both heterosexual and homosexual rapes take place both inside and outside of relationships. It's critical to understand that rape is never okay and that no matter the circumstance, rape is never the victim's fault (healthyplace.com)

Ways to Avoid/Prevent Rape
There is no one right or wrong way to act in order to avoid rape. But there are some things a woman can do that may make her less likely to suffer from being a victim of rape. What a woman does depends on how well she knows the man, how afraid she is, and how much danger she thinks she is in. Remember, if a woman is raped, it is not because she failed to avoid the rape, but because someone stronger forced himself on her.

Women can learn about rape prevention and use this knowledge to help them stay safe in many situations where sexual assault could occur. You can help prevent rape by taking these steps

Do your work with other women; This might be difficult sometimes, mostly among the students You will be safer and stronger if you work together in groups. Do not let anyone who makes you feel nervous into your home. Do not let him know if you are there alone.
Never walk alone; Try not to walk alone, especially at night. If you must go alone, hold your head up and act as though you feel confident. Most rapists will look for a woman who looks easy to attack. If you think you are being followed, try walking in another direction, or go up to another person, a house, or a store. Or, turn around and ask him very loudly what he wants. (en.hesperian.org)

Listen to your intuition when alone – Although you can never fully protect yourself from potential sexual assault, it's important that you avoid dangerous situations. Stay aware of your surroundings, avoid isolated public areas, walk with determination even if you're lost, trust your gut, keep your cell phone charged and with you, avoid going somewhere alone with a person you don't know well, don't use music headphones when walking alone.

Politics / Appoint Technocrats As Cabinet Members, Muslim Council Tells ABIODUN by AfeezLincoln(m): 1:27pm On Jun 13, 2019
A call has gone to the present Government in Ogun State, to put in place an all-inclusive administration by bringing on board seasoned technocrats and best materials available to join in the onerous task of taking the State to the next level.

The Chairman, Council for Islamic Affairs, Ogun State Chapter, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Mayaleeke, who made this call during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, in her Office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, advised government to launch a sustainable feedback mechanism that would allow for the impulse of the masses from time to time and address them accordingly.

While presenting some of the achievements of the Council, Alhaji Mayaleeke, said it has been creating awareness on HIV/AIDs through the AIDs Programme for Muslim Ummah (APMU), promoting good governance, co-ordination of Inter-faith Coalition, Abuja interventions on Malaria prevention, which included sensitization and distribution of insecticidal treated net and radio outreach through Supreme messages’ platform, specially packaged to preach against antithetical behaviours in the society amongst others.

The Chairman added that through the Council’s reconciliation mission, it has successfully engendered peace among warring factions, on age long disputes, at different levels, which had helped in maintaining peace and harmony among communities in the State.

He however implored the State government to look into the dearth of Islamic Religious Knowledge (IRK) teachers in public schools, soliciting for better recognition of Ogun State Inter-religious Council, a forum that would bring Muslim and Christian leaders together, as well as being fair in the inclusion of Muslims in appointments of the State Cabinet.

In her response, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako Oyedele, appreciated the Council for the visit, while pointing out that all issues raised were in line with the programmes and policies of government, she assured that they would be sorted out in a matter of time.

She stated that a feedback mechanism such as regular dialogue with traditional institutions, labour unions, schools, religious bodies, student union in order to prevent communication breakdown would be put in place.

“The Dapo Abiodun led administration, has pledged to be a listening government that will give room for feedback from the citizens of the State and in return respond to their yearnings and aspirations. We will engage regular consultations at specific periods and as time goes by, if there are particular issues that cannot wait, we call for quick meetings to clarify such issues to avoid friction”, she said.

On youth friendly programmes, the Deputy Governor said the youths are dear to the Governor’s heart and that a vocational centre for skills acquisition would be established to enhance youth empowerment, adding that, Industrial Parks would also be created all over the State, as well as provision of basic infrastructure for businesses to thrive through Small and Medium Enterprise.

Salako–Oyedele also pointed out that Ogun, being an Agrarian State, the present administration would develop the agricultural sector by setting up farm settlements for the youths, where they could be gainfully employed.

While making clarifications on appointments, she said government would be fair, equitable and just and without any bias, saying, ‘’best hands would be engaged in positions. Technocrats and professionals, who are exemplary in various fields, would be appointed into various positions, not necessarily on religion, tribe or Senatorial Districts’’.

Politics / Government Should Recognize Other Heroes Of June 12 Struggle, Says Falana by AfeezLincoln(m): 11:40am On Jun 12, 2019
Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana, has asked the Federal Government to identify other heroes of the June 12 struggle.
Mr Falana who was guest on Channels Televisions Democracy Day edition of Sunrise Daily on Wednesday advised those who were part of the struggle, and are now in government, to ensure that the ideals are actualised.
My advice to the government, beyond recognising chief MKO Abiola, beyond the national honour, well deserved, conferred on him, as well as chief Gani Fawehinmi, we must also identify other heroes of that struggle from all over the country. This was not a NADECO and Afenifere affair.
The beauty of those who are coming from the civil society who have found themselves either in the executive or the legislature is to ensure that those ideals are actualised and implemented in Government, that is why June 12 is so significant.
He added that after the elections, candidate of the National Republican Convention (NRC), Bashir Tofa, was under pressure to go to the tribunal and it was at that point the civil societies and trade unions began the struggle.
The point has been made abundantly clear, after that election, Bashir Tofa, the other candidate congratulated his opponent and that is what is done in any civilised society; he was under pressure to go to the tribunal but he said no.
From that moment, the civil society came in, the progressive trade unions came in and made the country ungovernable for the dictators.
They were waging the struggle when some of us were captured and taken to jail houses, they made it ungovernable for the military dictators to have their way, at the end we won the battle for the restoration, he added.

Politics / SARAKI You Are Not Above The Law, EFCC Replies by AfeezLincoln(m): 5:02pm On May 08, 2019
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has taken note of the reactions of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki to the Commission's inquiries regarding his earnings as Kwara State governor as well as on the quality of his financial stewardship in the Senate.

While it is his prerogative to ventilate his views on the matter as he deems fit, the Commission takes great exception at the desperate attempt to cast a slur on its investigative activities by portraying Saraki as a victim of persecution.

Furthermore, the Agency finds the attempt by the Senate President to tie our inquest to his International Human Rights Commission, IHRC appointment and his approaching life out of power as misleading, knowing too well that the background to our current inquiries reaches several years back.
For the avoidance of doubt, the EFCC is obligated by law to enthrone probity and accountability in the governance space and has supremely pursued this duty without ill-will or malice against anyone.

It is in the interest of the public, and for Saraki's personal good, that he is not only above board, but be seen at all times to be so.

Indeed, all the instances in which the EFCC have had cause to sleuth into his financial activities either as a former governor or President of the Senate were driven by overarching public interest and due process of the law.

According to, Amusan, popularly known as 'Latin', said the association had been taking care of the veteran actor’s medical bills since 2017, under the administration of immediate past president, Dele Odule.

He said: “I have just instructed the Lagos executive of the association to check on him to ascertain his health progress.
