Congratulations afelouz. This is good news.

Thank you adjo10, you have really tried on this thread and I personally commend your effort for sharing the little you know about Brazil. today you receive a compliment, tomorrow might be a backlash. I greet you.

dehiero, mryoung16, chriscole, juliusocean, thank you all.
@TechSpot thanks bro, you're are next, we will celebrate it together.

Lets all just focus on how we can help anyone with genuine information. whether Brazil is trash or not, it's left for whoever making the enquiry to decide.
I'm glad I came to Sao Paulo and I will always advise anyone who has the opportunity to give birth in Brazil to do it.
If I'm having 100 kids in this life ehn, I will stroll into Brazil and birth them. thats me!. grin

so do what's best for you. tchau

Yes it is Brazil that people are going to now. A country with 204 million criminals, yet they have visa free access to 171 countries and territories. They have visa free access to every single European countries including Russia, which even the US passport cannot go to. Oooh also, the safest countries in the world thus Norway, Sweden, Germany and Finland have granted visa free entry to these 204 million criminals and poor people yet they have not killed all the Germans. These people are slow.
Lmao, your level of pettiness. Bravo! grin grin

Hello everyone,

About three weeks ago, we welcomed our son and I immediately kick start the PR process.

I had to wait and do all this stuff so I can write a comprehensive post and I hope someone will find it helpful..

We had our baby in Sao Paulo, I don’t know if the process is different in another state.

Immediately after the birth of the baby, we were given a document that I took to the Cartorio to register my baby and get the original birth certificate of the new born.

A few days later, I proceeded with the baby’s RG registration at Paupa Tempo, (RG is the citizenship card of the Brazilian child and you need to make an appointment before going to Paupa Tempo), baby’s picture was captured and we were given a date to come and pick up the RG card.

With those two documents, I can now process the PR for my family and also apply for the baby’s International passport.

Below is a list of documents needed to process the PR.

Online application form confirmation page
Photocopy of all passport pages
Child birth certificate
Child RG
Birth cert translation ( embassy)
Police report translation ( embassy)
Original Police report cert in English
applicant CPF
Payment of 168.13 reais, 204.77 reais each or the PR application
A lot of declaracao (declaration) such as:-
Declaraco de endereco electrónico e demais meios de contato
Certidao estadual de criminais
Certidao de distribuição
Declaracao de residencia
Declaracao de manutenção
Prove or address in Brazil ( bill)
2 passport photo

As for the baby’s international passport, documents needed are:-

The Brazilian child birth certificate.
The Brazilian child RG
Parents international passport,
5x7 passport photograph of the Brazilian child
Online application form
Some declaração (declaration)
Payment of 257.25 reais
(Both parents must be present)

After getting all the documents in order, we went to police federal and submitted the PR application. We now have our protocols while waiting for the actual CRNM card...
We applied for the baby’s passport also and still waiting to pick it up.

Now, the process is not so easy as stated here, in fact, I got frustrated and misplaced my phone in the process. Despite reading the requirements here on this thread and having someone who has gone through the PR process here in Sao Paulo who helped me with the list of documents needed, yet, they didn’t collect our application. We went to Policia federal about 4 times before getting the complete documents. If you meet Mr ‘A’ today and he says you only need one documents and everything is good and you go with the requested documents and meet another person, that person will ask for another thing.

The language is a big barrier so Its better to get a sworn translator or anyone who can speak Portuguese to make things easy… they won’t read whatever you translated with your phone at Policia federal and most of all these places

NOTE - The PR application now takes less than two months In Sao Paulo, in fact, my friends who applied around ending of January got the CRMN card first week in March, that’s about a month.

As for the Nigerian visa for the baby, I'm still waiting for the baby’s passport and making enquiries. As soon as I am done with that, I will revert.

We didn’t get to extend our visas as the timing was right and we applied before our 3 months entry stamp expires.

I'm still gathering information on the provisional citizenship. hopefully, I can apply for my daughter before leaving Brazil If I get her CRNM card on time.

Also, If I remember any additional information regarding the PR process, I will come back and share….

Thank you all and good luck to those waiting to get their visas.

No, they don't do biometrics and so far in Lagos. also, no one has done a pregnancy test but the interview is certain to see if you are visibly pregnant.
awash:
Please i would like to know if Brazil embassy do biometrics, and how is the pregnancy test done can it be in any hospital of your choice.

No doubt Brazil has a good economy but my reservation is the excessive crime rate, like WTF!!! I hear say it's even more unsafe than Nigeria. People wey dey there, abeg make una yarn us about the crime situation as per recent and how to avoid those pesky hoodlums

There is crime everywhere in the world, even the safest ranking country still records crime.

You see, the reason why nobody replied your post is because of the way it was ignorantly presented. The place wey you hear say brazil Get high crimes than Nigeria, why didn’t you ask them how to avoid the so called hoodlums? like WTF

Hello Mama Adjo10
Hello Afelouz
Hello TechSpot
Hello ChrisCole and other veterans.
God bless you all for all the guidance.
I submitted on Tuesday.
The wait now begins.

A colleague of mine who is still a Nairaland guest wanted to know if it was okay to state 1.450million as budget for her family of 4 who plan on visiting for 9 days in her Itinerary letter.
Will this be okay for them.
Flight, feeding, accom and tours.

I personally did not state how much I intended spending. I just wrote that my savings account had so, so and so. And I intended to foot my travel bills from there.
I told her this but she wants to state a value.

Veterans please advice.
Thank you all in advance.
I will advise her not to state any value. I don't think it's necessary at'all.

You can apply as an unregistered businessman.
I don't think they will accept his application o shocked. Infact, I have a friend who recently applied with a business name and they didn't collect her application. They requested for articles and memorandum of the business and its only a Limited company that has that so, they might not accept the application of someone with an unregistered business.

dehiero, You can register a new company as TechSpot suggested, it might look suspicious but it can fly OR get an introduction letter on the letter-head paper of the trading company who pays directly to your account. That can serve as where you work aswell as your source of income.

Hello, first of all, How do you get paid from your trading?
is the money deposited to your bank account in Nigeria directly from the source or you deposit money by yourself?

Muito obrigado
I was checking out the prices for rent in SP I couldn't find any below $400 did you get a better offer?
It all depends on the area you choose to live. There are high-bred areas and medium range areas too. it also depends on the type of apartment, is it furnished or empty apartment?
The houses you will get Out here will most likely be empty so if you cant go through the stress of searching for apartment, contract palaver. Just use airbnb for your entire stay.

Good job Adjo10, Brexiteer, afelouz, techspot, shallypop and others

My questions are these,.

1). Are our children in Nigeria eligible for the citizenship or must they be physically present in Brazil at the time?
They must be physically present. You can also decide to come with your husband alone, get the PR for you and hubby and whenever you want to come back to brazil with the kids, they can apply for a separate visa category based on their Brazilian sibling.

2). I am only 8weeks gone and very "invisible".
Can we mail in our application and wait to be invited since we don't live in Lagos or should we travel down to Lagos just to submit and possibly still get invited again as we live in Cross river which is such a distance for a double trip.. Either ways is fine, but preferably in person

3). Better still,
Considering you are already there and well experienced,
will you advice myself and hubby to totally relocate...it's been our life long dream just for the kids to have a better life, we have quite good jobs here in Naija.
Wondering if it be a worthy risk ditching our sought-after jobs to chart this new course?
I wont advice you to leave your job.
Before you can get a job here you must be able to speak Portuguese fluently same as starting a business. Hardly will you see an opening for someone who speaks only english. Factor atleast a 6months - 1 year to learn Portuguese into your plans. Its better you relocate with the kids if you can while your husband support from home and visit you until you guys figures out how to move forward. You also dont need any consent for the kids

Thank you

Your wife having her father's name isn't an issue at all, so dont be bothered about that bro. You have your marriage cert and that is enough, if they ever ask for it. There are always scenerios of bf/gf going to give birth and they still obtain their PR, so dont bother yourself about name change for her until after you have gotten your citizenship, that will make things easier for you. Goodluck bro
Samuelsoma:
Actually, it is always more expensive for tourist, so i can suggest that you should probably make do with online learning for now...Youtube

Thanks alot. I know how to move forward now. You are in Sao Paulo right?

Please share some details about the process I heard the cpf is very important
Yes, CPF is important and its also easy to get.
Someone took me to where I did mine, I got it in like 30 minutes and I paid about 15 reals for the online registration (at a cybercafe) and lamination of the card. After the online registration, the printout will be taken to the office where the CPF will be issued. Its usually withing same proximity or same place, depending on where you chose to do it. You need your In't passport and residential address in brazil.
It can be done in places like Bank Banco do Brasil, Bank Caixa Economica Federal, post office (Correios)

One more thing, I have been searching for a language School Where I can learn Portuguese here in Sao Paulo and the ones I have been seeing online are too expensive, they also charge weekly, Lol.
Is there a free or affordable school I can attend??
Remember I don’t have protocol or a PR yet, I’m just a tourist for now.
Adjo10:

For that, i will personally recommend you guys waiting until after the PR application. Your wife’s name

Congratulations afelouz and to your wife. Well done. I am happy the year is ending well. Please take good care on Mum and baby. Let them be as comfortable as possible. You have taken a wise decision that will change the course of history for the future generations to come. Your children, their children’s children will be grateful to you and your wife.

Feel free to always contact us here if you have any questions and also update us on the latest. Best

Good day and thanks for your well wishes. I think by far this is the best decision I have ever made.

I have some concerns regarding the PR application based on the brazilian baby.

Presently, my wife Int’ Passport has her fathers name as her surname and her birth certificate. We are yet to change the Int’ passport to my surname. I know there wont be an issue having my surname on the new born birth certificate as im physically present in Brazil but is it advisable to change my wife’s name to my surname for the PR application? if yes how best can we go about it.

I came with our marriage cert that is legalized at the ministry or foreign affairs. Thanks alot

OKay, thank you
Adjo10:

It all depends on the immigration officer not the airport. Since you have a tourist visa, you must appear as a tourist. You are free not use the VIP lane at the airport for Pregnant and old people unless of course you cannot really stand on the normal lane due to very long queue. You are under no legal obligation to use the lane. It is a matter of choice..
Travel / Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by afelouz(m): 7:25pm On Oct 31, 2019
When I applied, I only scanned and upload my signature, int passport and passport photograph. I don't think its neccesary to upload SOA, unless it a new development.
ptaller:

Congratulations bro! Wish you all the best. Pls, we want to submit a group application from our office fully sponsored by the company, but aside other supporting documents, the statement of account is about 200 pages, are we going to scan all the pages of the SOA with other documents, then submit everything at the embassy? Pls reply bro its urgent. Thanks in advance & congrats once again.
