Thanks alot bro. I take to your advice and use Rio GIG. I looked up the ticket fee and its not smilling atall but I will book as soon as I can. Thanks and God bless.
Samuelsoma:
Any airport is fine but as I have once mentioned sometime ago on this platform, I will always recommend GIG (Rio)
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by afelouz(m): 9:21pm On Oct 30, 2019
Please, Which airport is the safest airport to arrive while pregnant? I have seen a previous suggestion of Rio, but Rio to Floripa is far and I don't know if the local airlines would fly a pregnant woman and the baggage allowance might not be an issue too. thanks

TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by afelouz(m): 9:03pm On Oct 20, 2019
Hi,

You don't need to book a paid flight itinerary. just do the usual dummy ticket that usually gets cancelled after 24/48/72hrs. Ther embassy does not expect you to pay for the flight, they just want to see how much it will cost you to fly to your destination. don't book a non refundable ticket also, I don't think there is a need for that. They can't deny you based on that. if you pay for the flight and you don't have enough money or missing documents, one can still be denied. I booked my ticket on wakanow a week before submission and it got expired a day after booking it, thats almost a 6 days before submission.

and also, the online application, I only upload the signature, passport photograph and international passport. There is no compulsory option for flight ticket upload unless its a new development.

NOTE: for my schengen visas, I just go to google, enter the flight dates and print the screenshot with the flight fee without any booking confirmations.

swifteddy:
Please i need some advise on how to proceed. Now it's required to provide flight itenary when applying online and when submitting the application.I tried doing that using South Africa Airways to get that and was able to book on hold for just 72hours before payment thereafter it will cancel.can I go ahead to submit the itinerary online like that with that booking on hold ?
my fear is that I wouldnt want to go and pay for a flight since am not sure yet about the visa even if I and my wife have all the requirements.
Those in the house who have applied should please suggest how they provided the itenary or how they do it.@ afelouz,@ Adjo and anyone else.
Thanks everyone in advance

Thanks alot for the headsup and for coming back to the thread. I have started making arrangements to come in December or January at most. I have concluded on Floripa but the real estate agent I met from an expat group I belong too was concerned as december/january is a busy period for tourists and hardly will one get a good apartment or even get any at'all in Floripa. So, is there any other suggestion or a nearby city that is safe that one can live till the tourists in Floripa are gone? I really don't want to go to Rio or SP.

Also, both husband and wife will get their police report separately right?

thanks alot.
Adjo10:
Hey afelouz. You do notary before submitting it to foreign affairs.

You only need marriage certificate if you are applying for PR on the bases of marriage. For PR based on a Brazilian child, you don’t need. In any case, it is always safer to have more documents than less. So yes, you need to legalise the marriage certificate too.

About it being funny with the embassy. It doesn’t matter whatever you told the embassy or even if you entered illegally, when your baby is born, you are no more a tourist. You are now a resident so they embassy will legalise it for you.

That is why they are trying to prevent pregnant women from going in the first place because they know so far as the baby is born in Brazil they have no more power. The constitution is supreme and everyone must bow down to the constitution.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by afelouz(m): 7:36pm On Oct 13, 2019
God bless you. Just continue doing the good job you are doing please. God will reward you because lowkey, you have helped alot of people here and even the ghost readers.

I still have many questions so please don't abandon this thread
Adjo10:
To your second question. Please note that i have not done this before, i am only going to speak on the basis of what the law states.

In principle, your already existing child must be present in Brazil and apply for “provisional Nationality Certificate”. This can only be done after your newborn arrives as your other child will apply on the basis of his/her sibling (the newborn). Whiles your newborn can obtain his or her passport immediately as he or she is a natural born Brazilian, your already existing child is actually now applying to be Brazilian first. This process should take the same amount of time as your PR application.

After your already existing child receives the certificate for “Provisional naturalization “ then he or she is now Brazilian and can apply for a Passport.

It is called Provisional Nationality because, your already existing child must confirm that he or she wants to stay Brazilian at the age of 18. After this confirmation, then child is now a Brazilian.

However note that, there is no difference between Provisional naturalisation and your other natural Brazilian child. Their passports will be the same. The only difference is that your already existing child must confirm at 18 and cannot become a President of Brazil while your natural born Brazilian child can become President.

Cheers

Thanks for your response but I’m confused.
Who is waiting for 4 years to get the PP. the new born or the sibling?

Gurus should please come and explain. God bless
Zizi81:
I usually advice you get in first, before you do your police report because once it passed 90 days you have to do another one
if you have a baby before you give birth to the brasilian citizen, the unborn child will have to live in Brazil for 4years before he or she can get the passport and that child must get it before eightneen years of age.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by afelouz(m): 7:27pm On Oct 13, 2019
Thanks for the explanation, since I will be in Brazil 2months before the delivery of the baby, I can do the police report a week to departure and give it to a friend.

Other documents like marriage certificate, do I need to legalize that too at the ministry of foreign affairs?

Is legalizing a document at the ministry of foreign affair same as a notary public?

But won’t it be funny when they see ones name after they asked and issue the visa because you said you weren’t pregnant. Hope they cant decide not to legalize the document based on this?

Adjo10:
The police report must not have been more than 90 days old at the time of PR application in Brazil. It must also be legalized. To do so, take the police report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria for legalisation. After which you take it to the Brazilian consulate in Nigeria for final legalisation. After the documents arrive in Brazil, you must translate it with a translator authorised by the Brazilian authorities in Brazil. Only after these steps it will be accepted my Police Federal for the application.

If you are going to be in Brazil for more than 90 days before your baby is born, then give your friend or family member a copy of your passport in Nigeria to apply for the police report and do all the above on your behalf and then send them to you in Brazil.

Finally, because the Brazilian consulate has to legalise the document, if you go for legalisation before traveling to Brazil, the consulate will suspect your motives and may cancel your visa. This is because legalisation of documents are only done when you want to apply for a permit in Brazil.

So in short, be smart. I always say, get to Brazil first and let your child be born. The rest will take care of itself as long as you have a Brazilian child.

Peace

Hi gurus. Please, The police report that is needed for the PR application, can I make it down few weeks before traveling to brazil?

Which notary public is recognized that one can use?

After getting the police report and notarized it, do I need to take it to the embassy in lagos for anything? I hope not.

For someone who had a baby already ( below 7 years). Can the said baby get his/her brazilian passport before leaving brazil alongside the new born? Or they only issue a document that shows that the sibling is a citizen?

Thanks alot

Its been 3 weeks now and if they are convinced that you are not pregnant during the interview and you are not showing yet, they wont ask for medicals I think.
juliusocean:
How long have you submitted your application did they ask for medicals too as in pregnancy tests
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by afelouz(m): 1:20pm On Oct 08, 2019
Quick update.

So, the interview story is true. I got an invitation mail two weeks after applying and I have done the interview.
They basically want to see if you are not pregnant, then ask for your mission in brazil, etc.
They don't want to see a baby bump, Infact, it's auto denial.
If you are a lady applying, you are getting invited automatically. Nigerians have really Bleep*d things up.
let me just stop here.
@Adjo10 thanks for always responding to comments here. God bless.

Seems Chile's route is not that straight forward or easy like that. You need a residence permit before your baby can be a consider a Chilean.
Also, there is no Chile embassy in Lagos, one needs to visit Ghana which is another stress.

Shallypop:
If Brazil isn't giving Visa, why not look at Chile. Don't go using public hospitals oo. Passport is even Visa free to US, Canada and Australia.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by afelouz(m): 4:52pm On Sep 11, 2019
A quick update.

I just submitted my brazilian visa application at the lagos embassy and here is my observations.

They are aware that Nigerians use that visa for child birth and its true that they can call you for interview and ask for pregnancy test. They will ask if you are pregnant despite seeing you not pregnant physically then minute somethings on the form which I didn’t see clearly.

I notice that the average women who submitted were lowkey pregnant and yet nobody is posting anything here. lipsrsealed

Lastly, I think they know about this thread.
I cant even write somethings here.

I don’t know why Nigerian wont just go and use private hospital and atleast pay the bills. angry

If I receive any mail, I will update
Its well.
