PoliticsJonathan Symbol Of Democracy In Africa – Carter by Afokesco(op): 8:27pm On Nov 19, 2015
Former United States President Jimmy Carter has poured encomiums on Nigeria’s former President Goodluck Jonathan. The 39th US President described Jonathan as a symbol of democracy on the African continent. He made the remark while receiving Jonathan at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum located at the Carter Center in Atlanta. They were said to have held a fruitful meeting at the Carter Center where they held a wide-ranging discussion on global issues and shared views on how to promote peace, democracy and good governance in Africa and the world. Speaking on Jonathan’s time in office, Carter said: “President Goodluck Jonathan is the symbol of democracy in action. You set an example that other African leaders should follow.” The former American President also praised Jonathan for organizing a transparent election and easily conceding defeat and handing over to the opposition. By so doing, he said that Jonathan showed his deep democratic commitment. Responding, Jonathan said that his actions while in office were informed by his belief in a peaceful, transparent and people-oriented governance, adding that Africa can only move forward through democracy and good governance. He commended President Carter for the exemplary manner he had in his post- presidential life, adding that he was inspired by Carter’s commitment to causes that advance the path of humanity. Jonathan and Carter share a common experience as one term Presidents and have both retired involuntarily from politics while rededicating their lives towards making the world a better place. They both agreed that peaceful and stable government increase foreign direct investment and sustainable development. The Carter Center is a nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization founded in 1982 by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn Carter and guided by a fundamental commitment to human rights and the alleviation of human suffering. It seeks to prevent and resolve conflicts, enhance freedom and democracy, and improve health. Jonathan has been visiting many strategic pro-democracy institutions where he had been invited to share his experience in office as a promoter of democracy and advocate of good governance in Africa. He had so far been hosted by the Presidential Precinct in Virginia, John Kennedy School of Government, King Center as well as the Carter Center. While visiting the Presidential Precinct in Charlottesville Virginia, last week Jonathan assured the international community that African leaders were displaying more commitment to democracy and good governance, as a means of engendering sustainable development an improving the lives of the people. He is scheduled to speak a long side with Former US Secretary of State Johnnie Carson about elections, peace and democracy at the National Democratic Institute, and Howard University in Washington DC.

PoliticsA Nairalander Need Help On How To Prepare Egusi Soup by Afokesco(op): 3:08pm On Oct 03, 2015
I don't know the precise place to post this topic.

The fact is that Anytime my mom or sisters are preparing something to eat, i barely watch them. Because am the only son. The only thing i know how to prepare is EBA and NODDLES.

My family make jest of me all day. Especially when i did something wrong, my dad would say.
"You see your life, common ordinary peper soup u nor sabi arrange".
During my 100 Level at school,
i spent 120k at mama put joint.
My buddies told me to desert mama put stuffs, but i refused.

There was a day i cooked two packets of hugry man indomie.

I only ate five spoons. My buddies

all them all as if they've just been released from prison.

The other day i bought N50 grinded pepper to cook the noddle, they ate little and started
drinking water like CARMEL.

I WAS LIKE "una see food run today"

i didn't border because i'm addicted to pepperish stuffs.

Sometimes i begged for soup from my neighbours. Cos am addicted to egusi soup. I don't mind eating such soup in a year.

PoliticsNobody Should Insult, Abuse Buhari – PDP by Afokesco(op): 4:03pm On Sep 30, 2015
SEPTEMBER 30, 2015 : OLUSOLA FABIYI, ABUJA Leave a Comment The Peoples Democratic Party has said it is wrong for anyone to abuse or insult President Muhammadu Buhari. The PDP, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in Abuja on Wednesday, congratulated the citizens for keeping faith in the Nigerian project and working together in building a strong nation and one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It said this while charging Nigerians to use the occasion of the nation’s 55th Independence Anniversary to rekindle the spirit of patriotism, asking the citizens to exhibit actions that promote democratic ideals and peaceful co-existence at all levels in the country. The party said the occasion reminded Nigerians of their common root and destiny as well as the country’s resilience and determination to succeed in all spheres of life as a strong, united and prosperous nation, irrespective of her challenges. It urged Nigerians to use the anniversary to recommit to respecting their leaders at the local government, state and national levels, while paying adequate reverence to national symbols and institutions. The party added, “In this regard, the PDP urges all citizens to have full respect for the office and person of the symbol of the leadership of our great country, the President. “The President can be constructively criticised, but under no circumstance should he be abused or insulted in any way and under any guise whatsoever. “On this note therefore, we expect those around our dear President to be cautious and desist from actions and utterances that tend to set him up for public ridicule.” The PDP congratulated the nation on its giants strides since independence, especially within the 16 years under the PDP led- administration, during which he said enviable milestones were recorded in critical sectors of the polity. It commended the military for the success recorded in the fight against insurgency in the country, while commiserating with all those affected by the senseless acts of terrorism and violence.

RomanceWhat Makes You A Real Man by Afokesco(op):
A real man is not a person who can
impregnate a woman; any guy can also
impregnate a woman. Even a 17 year old
boy
can impregnate a woman but that does not
make him a man.
A real man is not a person who is good in
bed. Any idiot can be good in bed.
A real man is not a person who beats his
wife/girlfriend. Infact it is only idiots that
beat their women.
A real man is a person who tolerates his
woman.
A real man is a person who controls his
anger.
A real man is the person who shows real
care and love to his woman.
A real man is the person who knows how
to solve the crises and problems in his
relationship.
A real man does not beat his woman.
A real man is hardworking. He is not lazy
A real man can endure, persevere and be
patient.
A real man can overlook the bad
behaviors of his woman.
A real man corrects his woman with love.
Real men make their women happy.
Therefore, ladies, when choosing a man,
date
real men only.
Marry real men only. If you are not happy in
your relationship now, that means your guy
is not a real man.!
Look beyond sex and money and go for
happiness and peace of mind.
Do You Agreehuh
