zerozz:Yes this is opened for web apps too. No issues with that. |
Maybe them go don blow trumpet before they release all these hire assassin robots into the streets. This was the kind of thing will smith was talking about in "I Robot". |
Winners goes home with N 30,000, second goes home with 20k, third goes home with 5k. If you wish to sponsor, please indicate your interest and how much you wish to contribute. If we get sponsors, the prices can go up. How do you get this money? No strings attached, no conditions, no sentiments. There is going to be a challenge by 28th of the month expires for submission. The winner of the challenge will be the one to take the mentioned amount in Nigerian Naira into their bank account. Runner up may receive some recharge card/airtime. Is it for only developers? No, I don't know yet, in this case, we may need the review/comment of you all to let us decide if we should open this for designers as well(by making it a designers' competition).. What programming Language can I use? You can use pretty much anything you like, native android, phonegap, xamarin, or anything at all. Even web apps are allowed for that matter. You can do a desktop application as well. How do we know the winner? Their will be some judges which their names will be mentioned here, our judges will be rating your application (over 100%) according to: 1. Code neatness 2. Glitches of the Application 3. Followed rules for the challenge 4. Code consistency How do I register for the competition? You can register on this thread by putting: 1. Your full name 2. Your technology e.g. Native Android developer, web developer, desktop application development 3. Your gender Deadline for registration? This will be on 20th of this month; 12:00 noon. So we will be updating this post with the names of people that have registered so we can know how many of us are in the bus. Is this opened for Pro Programmers? No! Where will the project be hosted? You must be registered on Bitbucket, like I said earlier, this is going to be a learning curve for beginners, I may be posting some tutorials here(if needed) on how to post the project on Bitbucket. At least, some of you can know how to do versioning. Are corrections allowed? No! so you can learn fast, learn how to test your application. Corrections will be posted when the winner has been announced Are Frameworks allowed? Yes, but specify which Framework you are about to use while you register for the competition. Advantages This challenge will serve as a very opened class and learning curve for everyone here whether you are a beginner or not. From the comments by the judge(s), you will add one or two things to your experience. The only way programming can move forward in Nigeria is to share knowledge known in which we are lagging behind. Some people may be watching behind the scenes too, so you may be employed from here. Impossible is Nothing. Disadvantages None for now. When will the challenge be out? Soon when we reach a conclusion, so our deadlines may not be strict for now. Please watch this page for updates. |

where are all them them great programmers? |
Wryhder:ding |
The thing is, some people cannot learn on their own, they will be watching youtube funny videos, and playing candy-crush saga. They need a school to drill them. But I dont believe so at all. You can learn on your own, even if it is slow, you will get it. |
Na AMADIOHA power e use to win. |

This is a SOW A TREE, no more seed. |
![]() gypsey:You are wrong, they look like QUAAACCKKK! And very hungry ones at that. I know, just had to be very sure. It could be a MALE nurse, once Nigerian people (police inclusive) see MAN in healthcare - it is DOCTOR, if it is woman - NURSE. I remember a time they claimed a doctor raped a woman while doing a trans-vaginal ultrasound scan, eventually it turned out to be a technician after misleading people finish. |
Once upon a time, experts like dhtml with have trashed out this matter. But that time is long gone, but there are still some good guys in the house, I am just trollin' pass. |
rentAcock:And you have to post a video? |
I saw someone's profile yesterday on Facebook, the developer claimed to have done so many jobs it will make your head spin, owns a company and all that. But the gawddam website is uploaded to a free platform online - who does that? And note, I am a developer too. |
I dont know what AMOSUN is doing o? I really want to know, and if I should see him one on one, I will ask him too. |
quite simple jare. they even have a javascript version too. |
Them don start to dey flag people for this thread eh? before you know it, them will ban the OP for like 100 years. |
pcguru1:Na so o, the competition is strong really. wane01:One pesky moderator is having fun, while the board is looking like a grave yard! |
aaaaand, we are still here!!!! |
Da fuk is wrong with you all? Can't you see that Seun is trollin' on you guys? You think he seriously wants to fix this board eh? |
It is not surprising at all. As a matter of fact, it would have been surprising if something was done. |
seoscrib:I can never ever be a moderator, because if them mistakenly make me a moderator, this is what I will do: - I will ban all the mods - I will ban seun himself - I will finally ban myself |
I am still waiting to see myself banned and this thread padlocked, yeah, because that is the expected outcome to be honest. |
@Seun, I hope you are reading all this sha? Because I somehow doubt it sha. |
That BOT has caused a lot of miseries into the life of Nairalanders. The tales of WOES are just too much, some people were banned for like 10 years and above, so I move a motion that it should be EXECUTED, period. |
