FashionRe: Can You Do Without Make Up? by AfroAGoGo(f): 11:51am On Jun 05, 2008
Hate makeup! What am I trying to cover up/hide/pretend I have but really don't? I'm happy with my face just the way it is.
Plus, for those women who are a slave to their compact or feel the need to put on their concealers and powders every day, what would they do if they were traveling and lost their makeup bag? Or when working out? Just woke up?
When I was in the Amazon doing research, some of the women on the trip with me were a straight MESS because their foundation couldn't hold up with the humidity/heat/sweat and they just couldn't bear to part ways with the powder puff. They looked rough. lipsrsealed
FamilyRe: Is It Love For A Man To Give Up His Surname For His Wife's? by AfroAGoGo(f): 5:43am On Jun 05, 2008
I for one will not be changing my last name - I don't care what my husband does, but I like my current last name and unless my new one would sound better, I'm not changing $hit! grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Africans Immigrants Dont Have The Most Degrees In America by AfroAGoGo(f): 11:14am On Jun 04, 2008
Dunnoe where you are coming from with that argument, but what I've gathered from reading Wikipedia or sites like that is that African immigrants have the highest percentage of degrees compared to other immigrants in the States.
Example: out of 10 Nigerians living in the US, 9 of those will have graduate degrees.
On the other hand, maybe out of 10 Koreans living in the states only 7 of those will have graduate degrees.
Meanwhile maybe out of 10 white Americans, only 6 have graduate degrees.
Kind of debunks the "model minority" myth that Asians hold as being the most studious group in the States.
