PoliticsI Have Fought A Good Fight ― Gboyega Isiaka by afroniger(op): 7:49am On Mar 12, 2019
https://www.tribuneonlineng.com/195624/

By Olayinka Olukoya - Abeokuta On Mar 11, 2019

THE Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, said he had fought a good fight having contested for the exalted seat for three consecutive times.

He said the journey was nothing but his passionate desire to serve the people of the State and therefore congratulated the governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun and wished him well in the task before him.

Isiaka submitted he had a lot to share to improve the political historiography of the State.

“On Saturday 9th March 2019, I contested for the office of Ogun State Governor on the platform of the African Democratic Congress ADC; the third time in a long journey of passionate desire to serve. It is no longer news that INEC has declared a winner and the result must be respected.

“For me, the aftermath of this election represents a defining moment and we can begin to take relevant stock. The desire to serve Ogun State has never been about self-pursuit but the strong will to change the wrong system and make life more meaningful to our people.

“At huge personal risk, I put myself forward on three consecutive elections with a firm conviction that I and my team have what it takes to substantially elevate socioeconomic welfare of Ogun State and make it greater. To this, we committed ourselves for the last 12 years.

“This short statement will not attempt to chronicle my experience within these periods as I will surely do so in the nearest future; for definitely, I have a lot to share that will enhance the political historiography of Ogun State.

“Though I am from Ogun West senatorial district and I carried a burden to ensure that the glaring inequality in this state, I consciously pursued a pan-Ogun State agenda; and I am proud of the campaign we ran all through,” he said.
PoliticsRe: Akeredolu Mulls Defection To AA As APC Considers His Suspension by afroniger: 7:21am On Mar 12, 2019
Akeredolu should learn from Amosun and Okorocha's recent fall from grace. He should drop his ego and toe the path of reconciliation by uniting APC in the state. No man is an island. He should accommodate other APC interest groups in the state. Sometimes you have to stoop to conquer. Ego no fit do am.

TravelRe: Crashes: Air Peace Says No Plan To Cancel Order For 10 B737 MAX Aircraft by afroniger: 3:54pm On Mar 11, 2019
This is a very inconsiderate position by Air Peace considering the recent history of the aircraft in question. Air Peace flights are already recording far too many near crashes lately, they better not make their own situation worse. Nigeria cannot afford another Dana air type of crash please.

PoliticsRe: Amosun Under Tension To Resign As APM Supporters Curse Out Buhari by afroniger: 1:09pm On Mar 11, 2019
Amosun really miscalculated. He really believed he would have his way eventually, swearing that he would do everything possible to make sure Dapo wouldn't become governor. His ego and pride made him fail to see the bigger picture or have a plan B.

More like they were APC candidates. Must you drag Tinubu into everything? Na wah. It's no secret that the Governor preferred and supported non-APC candidates (AA) who failed to live up to the billing. But you don't have to drag Tinubu into everything.

Bukola lost Kwara simply because he was what I would call an 'ajebutter' politician who couldn't relate well with common man in Kwara, unlike his father who could feel the pulse of the people and respond accordingly.

PoliticsRe: Oyo 2019: A Crack In Tinubu's Priceless Empire by afroniger:
Shuku0kukobambi:
That's why no matter how you see Tinubu, he'll remain relevant because he knows the street controls things and he remains loyal to the streets. Ajimobi and Amosun think you just become a godfather because you have position. That's the lesson bukola also refused to learn from his father, Olusola. Never forget the streets and those who control it. Ganduje also paid because he insulted the streets with that dollar video.

You're right about Oyo, particularly Ibadan as being fickle voters. They tire of leaders easily. PDP would have won in 2015 if not that greed made them splinter into 4 candidates facing ajimobi. Seyi will not get more than 4 years. It's written in the stars. Na Oyo state we dey talk grin
That is the secret behind the 'staying power' of all successful political 'godfathers'. The educated class of voters seem to be oblivious of this fact though, it seems. Tinubu is only relevant because the grassroots still support his leadership. They are the real influencers who can motivate the real voters with PVCs to go out and vote on election day. The day he loses their support is the day he will lose his relevance. Many of the ones that come online to rant don't even live in Lagos nor will they go out to stand in line to vote (that is even if they have PVCs) but they make a lot of useless noise all over the place.

Forget that 'single term jinx' thrash! If your political warlord Tinubu was not concerned, why all the desperate moves to buy Ogbomoso's votes few days to the election? So, I Am not sorry for your loss!
If you are upset that Tinubu did his best as a loyal party member to ensure that his party retains Oyo then that's your headache. Was he supposed to support PDP's Makinde instead of Adelabu? On what basis? Your bitterness is obviously clouding your sense of judgement. You are better off enjoying and cerebrating Makinde's victory without so much bitterness dude.

Shuku0kukobambi:
Ajimobi needed to be thought a lesson. He's the luckiest governor in Oyo history yet he messed it up. I'm just sad that his punishment also consumed SOJ and Adelabu.

I'll start hating Buhari if he gives him any appointment. Very arrogant mumu constituted authority
That is classic democracy on display. Ajimobi lost the support of the grassroots and the APC has paid dearly for it. Personally I feel Adelabu would have made a better governor but the people felt they were overdue for a break from anything connected to Ajimobi (whom they have come to resent). Makinde only rode on that wave of discontent. I also think Oyo people are very fickle when it comes to politics. Bola Ige was rejected in favour of Olunloyo in 1983 (in spite of Awo and UPN's popularity) even though many felt Ige performed enough to deserve a second term. Makinde has four years to prove himself else he will experience the same fate.

Shuku0kukobambi:
And I'm sure you'll celebrate that Kwankwaso installed his son in law as Kano governor o?

Hope you also celebrated Tinubu obliterating Saraki completely in Kwara?

Why can't you rejoice that Oyo state rebuked arrogant and uncouth Ajimobi, Kano rejected babariga ATM ganduje and Kwara punished Saraki for years of oppression?

This is people power. Has nothing to do with any godfather. If the winners mess up, in 4 years, the same fate awaits them
Are you minding him? Ajimobi broke the single term jinx of governors in the history of Oyo state. Until he achieved that every other governor only succeeded in doing a single term, including the late Bola Ige. That is how Oyo people like to play their politics. Instead of celebrating Makinde's victory they are making Tinubu the issue. Na real wah.

You people must always find a way to drag Tinubu into everything. Ajimobi did two terms and failed to influence the election of his handpicked successor and you are blaming Tinubu just because he is supporting his party's candidates. This isn't a surprise though because one can't attain Tinubu's stature politically without attracting fierce political foes.

PoliticsAPC Uzodinma Leads In Imo Guber Polls - Vanguard by afroniger(op): 5:38pm On Mar 10, 2019
MARCH 10, 2019

OWERRI- THE Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma is leading in the last Saturday governorship election.

According to reports in some units, the APC candidates is winning in nine Eight Local Governments while the candidate of the PDP, Emeka Ihedioha is trailing Uzodinma with his large votes in Mbaise LGA. It is not a good outing for the candidate of the Action Alliance and son in-law to the governor of Imo state Uche Nwosu who is coming third in the contest.

However APC members have raised an alarm accusing top government officials of attacking collation centers with a view to changing the results of the election. As a result there is tension in most og the collation centers in the state forcing security operatives to beef up security.

The INEC had announced suspension of collation of results but Vanguard learnt the exercise commenced again at 1:30pm. Uzodinma is leading in most of the LGAs in Orlu senatorial zone.

But collation of results are still on going as at press time. However, the election in the state was marres with violence, ballot box snatching and excessive thuggery.

We have always respected that fact, and that's why nobody is going on a protest. But you should also respect the fact that I have a right to vote and campaign who I chose to vote for. I also have the right to differ from you that Tinubus Lagos is being well governed. Or did I lose the right to have my opinion simply because I live in Lagos and a higher percentage of Lagosians prefer Tinubus lordship over them?

It is your complex problem that is making you feel threatened that igbos can 'put mouth' in the affairs of Lagos. But whether you like it or not, it is what it is and will remain that way except Nigeria divides. I'm sure you know igbos are already in elective offices in Lagos. And when we get to the level of full electronic voting, it will be a permanent thing. You need to learn to live with it. If not, na belus go kill you.

And for your information, I have every right, even much more than a lot of the so called owners of Lagos to desire the type of Lagos that I want. I was born and raised, live, speak the language, do business, and own property in Lagos. By every standard world over, if Lagos where a country, I should have been given citizenship of Lagos, and that's the case with so many igbos in lagos. Live with it cos it's the truth.

You and most of the other Tinubu worshippers here probably don't contribute to the purse of the state so it doesn't bother you how the state is governed. For you once the igbos don't have who they support at Alausa, you are fine. For me, the governance of Lagos is very important, probably more than that of my state at the moment. We do business here, and are faced with all types of taxes and demand notices for things we know neither the head or tail of. I own property here and bothered that my land use charge can be moved from 50k to 400k in a year during an economic recession. You probably are collecting salary from one firm and paying rent. And even if you are self employed, you may be on the higher end or eating fat from Tinubus empire, so you don't know what those who struggle to earn a living while employing many go through. I wouldn't blame you for you posture. But don't blame me for mine.

And on the side note, if you think Lagos is your land, come to my house in ikeja and misbehave in my compound, na that time you go sabi say all these yeye yans on who owns Lagos starts and stops during elections. By the time you land in Area F, you will show me the Police that will let you off the hook simply because you are yoruba and I am igbo.
Your wailing just started, punk. I didn't even bother reading all that crap you typed up there. When you tire, you go pack your load go back to Enugu to enjoy 'good governance'. If Lagos no pay you get tha fcvk out.

If you can't see what Lagos money is being used for then sorry you will remain blind for the rest of your life. Blindness na your portion. Some of you Igbos are mentally challenged. Imagine this dolt asking what Lagos government has been using its wealth for, like seriously.

Sullivan chime blew up hills and filled up valleys to build roads (not a road) of 50km+ without tollgate linking the towns to villages in Enugu state , with the lowest levels of FAAC and very little IGR and didn't even hold commissioning ceremonies before they were put into use. Peter Obi did even more, and the story isn't too different in Ebonyi State, And one ignorant person will sit in his Lagos and be hailing Tinubu and his employees for utilizing less than 30% of the income the state gets and calls it the best level of governance in Nigeria.

The day Tinubu loses his grip in Lagos and a true performer gets to be governor in Lagos, these same people will curse Tinubu and his stooges for pillaging Lagos all these years when they see the progress that will be made.
We don hear. Since your SE governors are doing so well and stellar, abeg your people should remain in alaigbo and enjoy the 'good governance' you speak of. Lagos is not for everybody. Majority of Lagosians are OK with APC Lagos and have consistently rejected PDP same way Enugu keeps voting for PDP since '99, respect that or shut tha fvvck up.

Ignore those bad belle people. Na Lagos matter go kee dem. Just because the majority of Lagosians reject PDP dem wan kee diasef. It is not by force to live in Lagos.
