PoliticsKabir Sokoto Rearrested! Is It True? by agabaI23(op): 11:23am On Jan 20, 2012
An unconfirmed report has it that fleeing suspected Boko Haram bomber, Kabir Sokoto, has been rearrested at the Nigeria-Chad border.

Rumours in Abuja and a number of posts on Twitter said he was caught in unclear circumstances.

However, the spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force, Mr. Olusola Amore, said he had not been briefed.

He promised to issue a statement if the story was found to be true.

However, some bloggers on Twitter expressed doubts that the real suspect was caught, especially as no picture of the alleged bomber has ever been released by the police.

Sokoto, who is suspected to have masterminded the Christams Day 2011 bomb blast at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Madalla, Niger State, escaped from a police van last week while he was being taken to his residence for a search.

President Goodluck Jonathan had on Wednesday reporttedly given the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Hafiz Ringim, 24 hours to produce the suspect or be sacked.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Mr. Caleb Olubolade, told newsmen after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday that Ringim had been queried over the suspect’s escape.

A number of senior police officers, including the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Mr. Zakari Biu, have been reportedly placed under house arrest and suspended for involvement in the incident.

[quote author=Hour_Glass link=topic=282744.msg10000958#msg10000958 date=1326987482]@ modath, I can never forget you o. I was just overwhelmed in the morning but true to God, my heart was crying out to you especially this morning. I measure monthly but I weigh weekly, so ave not measured for now though I am loving the way my tummy looks after using the bathroom in the morning now, anyways am doing the measuring after 30DS.

Thanks Echala, am so grateful too

thanks y'all I just realized that I hate any interference in my routine, I will always improvise but not when am still on the schedule of Jillian Michaels, I dont want to disappoint Anita or myself too. Am still on an epileptic Day 2 Level 2 up till now. Its not too good for me personally.

Hi everyone smiley.
I feel happy posting now. I used to post here regularly at one point before i stopped because someone mentioned i was doing my body serious damage and when i asked for clarification i got no response.

Anyway, i religiously used to open this thread daily to get motivated by the super determined people here to work out and eat properly. I have gone from 73kg to 64.7 within a period of about 4 and 1/2 months of serious consistent work out and eating right. No thanks to crazy Jillian Michael 30 day shred, Taebo, zumba, Hip-Hop abs and my ever faithful skipping rope.

One of the most important things i learnt here is that weight loss should be a life style and not a short term goal and that is how it has been for me as i have no urge to eat junk again. I promised myself a cup of juice or drink during the festive season but as much as i tried, i had no desire to. I have always done 2 weeks dieting or crazy stuffs like that.

I am not done yet though. I still have 2.7 kg more to lose to get to my ideal weight of 62kg though i am now being forced to stop. Thanks to everyone including Hour-Glass, Modath, Mighty-love, RonkeBP, Agaba123, General Buhari and all the others( i can not remember all names). I don't know how you do this but you are all a source of encouragement.
Hey my name is in the news
Thank you Uche one three undecided

I told friends that Umar was prolonging the strike to increase his asking price. Not so long ago, he was involved in 500 m bribery scandal. Not sure what came out of it anyway.

Stage managed escape. Someone in the police team masterminded the escape otherwise how can one explain the fact that someone in handcuffs out ran the police.

And how did the youths know who he was? Arranged escape I say. We have a long way to go because there is so much sabotage in the law enforcement agencies.

The unfortunate thing is that he will come for them next.

Fashola is the father of all hypocrites! how come he didn't remember that he danced before Lekki residents during his campaign. GEJ is only taking a cue from him even though he is doing that late because occupy lekki tollgate was not allowed to survived for a day. Fashola should cover his face in shame, wasn't he the same guy that unleashed a truck load of armed policemen on unarmed occupy lekki tollgate protesters only a few weeks back? I'm surprised that a lot of people here are hailing him for speaking the 'truth' and standing up for them. May the Lord have mercy on us all.

I watch PressTV and they are unbelievably un-objective, no balance news at all, rumour after rumour, conspiracy, all their guess speakers are ant-west, no opposing views are allowed. It makes mockery of journalism.
You are very correct. They never see anything good in anything western. May be correct sometimes but they overblow it.

These Oyinbos are really tolerant. BBC has been disallowed from operating in Iran but Press TV has operated from London for so long. Wonder what made them act this time.
I guess the invasion of the British embassy in Tehran actually irked them.

Yea I know they don't reason being that western media info tend to be 'injurious' to the Ahmadnejad's Agenda.
Likewise UK have found the constant criticism of PressTV 'unacceptable'

Subsidy strike: Traders vow to sue banks over closure By CHIDINMA IRENE NWOYE Sunday, January 15, 2012

Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers in Nnewi, Anambra State, has vowed it will commence legal proceedings against all Nigerian commercial banks.

The union said its planned litigation against the banks was because they locked in their money in their custody as a result of the nation-wide strike over fuel subsidy thereby stopping them from doing business.

A statement issued by the association and signed by its Chairman, Mr. L. O. Chukwuma, CEO of LOCCA Group of Companies, said the seizure of their money in banks and denial of access to them for their business transactions was a breach of contractual agreement between the group as a body and individual members.

They threatened that since the banks never in the past paid them any compensation for such lockouts during unrests in the nation and that having incurred untold debts in their businesses, it will not take it this time around.

“We deposited our monies in banks for safety and accessibility when the need arise for it. But very often, we are shut out from that access, and in doing this the banks breach a contract to have access to our money in their care. While this kind of situation arises, our goods at the ports remain there for so long as to attract undue charges as we could not clear them.

“We are not Labour and while we accept that the labour unions have the right to stage protests over their grievances with government, it doesn’t make sense to us as non-members of the unions and not even a party to the negotiations that the banks should deny us the right to access our money,” the group said.
