I told my friend General nutlover that most people in the SE were not aware that Buhari was contesting for president and he said
GenBuhari:
@agabaI23
the elections were not free and fair.
How can an election be free and fair when some parts did not know that the main opposition was contesting shocked
That can never be acceptable to any country that calls itself a democracy and people would be in uproar until a re-run is arranged.

However in Nigeria alas, we appear accept rigged election and delude ourselves we are in a democracy sad
I thought he was joking and then told him that it is the duty of the candidate to create awareness about his candidacy and familiarize with the people and he replied
GenBuhari:
@agabaI23,
You have to stop defending the undefendible.
T[[/b]b]hat some parts of the country were not aware that that main contender was not contesting means that the Government has not informed the people sufficiently about the contestants of the elections. This is the minimal requirement of organising free and fair elections.

I watched NTA news programme on the Thursday evening 2 days before the Presidential elections and there were no mention of Buhari/ CPC, whilst 85% of the entire programme was devoted to either covering the GEJ/PDP and carring numerous adverts promoting GEJ sponsored by PDP and various other individuals (probably corruption lovers) shocked

To make matters worst NTA featured in one way or other all the other main contenders or their party except Buhari and CPC. It was as if NTA were bribed and told not feature Buhari /CPC

And you wonder why some voters were not aware that Buhari was contesting?

Any country interested in organising Free and Fair Elections must ensure that all the main contenders have equal access to all news media.

Apart from the fact that the elections were not free and fair, nobody can deny the obvious widespread rigging, with unrealistic stats, such as claims of  90-99% turn out  in areas where GEJ has support and low turn outs in Buhari's strongholds.
My people is it the duty of the govt? grin

has he been confirmed dead?

very sad

Will NYSC members be arrested if they fail to continue with the elections I mean i see no reason why any corp member should continue with the whole election just go home or get a doctors reports or better still postpone your service
Linda Ikeji blog said he was one of the four killed. Very sad indeed.

About the bolded, Jega said in his address that you cannot blame any corp member who refused to appear again. He said that was the reason why they postponed the elections in Bauchi and Kaduna where security reports are yet to be favourable. They are trying to see if they can get enough adhoc staff cover for any adhoc staff who would have refused to show up.

You actually amaze general. First it was you referring to nairaland poll as a pointer that the polls were rigged. Now you are blaming the electorate who were not reached by a candidate. As such the election is free and fair.
Something does not add up.
You should go and blame your candidate for not getting his priorities right.
he knew NW and NE were in boxers pocket yet he concentrated his campaign there leaving out SS/SE and he paid dearly for it.
You are asking for an uproar.

GenBuhari:
Why  do you guys believe that Buhari actually lost these elections why not try and mobilize to challenge it?

It simply does not seem possible that Buhari lost.

Buhari is challengng the results and we should be demanding re-run  of the elections and stop being defeatist.

All indications prior to the election were that Buhari was far more popular not only on Nairalang polls, but also on the ground - the biggest crowds attending his rallies.

Please can we stop saying he lost as I do not believe he  lost.  At the very worst it should have been close enought for a 2nd round run off elections.

What is he saying? Dnt have access to a TV now!
he said so much. it was press briefing where he first debunked the doctored software allegation.

2. About the underaged voters, he said that it was possible because of harrasment or connivance. he example with Gombe where the resident electoral officer was beaten and his vehicle vandalised because he tried to stop underaged voting. he said that the guy was rescued from the 'CPC' mob by security men.

3. he also talked about Kaduna where Corp members were prevented from doing there work.

4. about the fraud at collation centres, he said that they are away that people could do that but that the process is such that it will easily be detected in court.

5. he said they have not received any concrete proof of collation centre doctoring as the signature of the party agents were in all the result sheets

6. he said that some people are trying to scare the corp members from participating in next weeks election with spurious and scaring text messages

7. Elections have been postponed in Kaduna and Bauchi to the 28th of April. he threatened that if election could not hold in those states before May 29, a state of emergency will be declared so as not allow any vacuum.

and so many more

People as we speak are looking more closely at the turnout data, and comparing it to the turnout that took place the previous week in the NASS elections. Very strange magic seems to have happened. . . to radically boost turnout in certain SS and SE states.

Have no fear, all mysteries, lies and frauds will be uncovered in due time cool[/quote]No you forgot that the disappointment of 2nd April affected the turn out on the 9th. You cannot compare!.
In fact I monitored a polling unit in front of my house through a friend who told me on the 9th that the number cannot be compared to the number out there on the 2nd of April. When I inquired about the turn out on the presidential day, i was told that the crowd was enormous. I am talking about the South east here.

@beaf

Yes, those child voters are the one who got the Goodluck biscuits, and that was how they were lured out to vote. A friend in the North said most of the underaged kids mostly voted in PDP strong areas. And dont make it sound as if GEJ wasnt the REALLY desperate candidate here. If he had lost, im sure the whole of Nigeria would still be burning courtsey of his militants folks.

@poster: valid points raised here. the truth is that, why would a region reported of mass rigging and electoral fraud during the NASS election be left unprobed? Most of the election in Bayelsa and Delta are been currently cancelled. And theres serious reports of rigging sprees all over the SS and SE. Shame I come from that side angry.
Chris PurefoyCNN: There were rigging both sides. Is it not a case of the kettle calling the pot black? We saw under age voters voting you.
