Politics › War In Anambra State! Quotes From Campaign Trail! by agabaI23(op): 3:31pm On Feb 04, 2010 |
Dr CHRIS NGIGE (AC): I am the candidate to beat. I have constructed more roads than any other governor in this state. This is why I say I have been “tested and trusted.”
Professor CHUKWUMA SOLUDO (PDP): My 'African Dubai Taiwan' is not what would be achieved with the meager state allocations from the Federal Allocations Commission (FAC) or with the pieces of revenue from Onitsha and Nnewi business commercial and industrial towns. This is not a question of building roads and making noise about it. We are talking about the amazing future of Anambra State and the hope that I see.
Dr CHRIS NGIGE (AC): This Dubai Taiwan thing is funny. The man should make Anambra look like Asaba or Lagos before Dubai or Taiwan. Besides, Dubai has economic crisis and they owe a lot. Some consortiums of businessmen and conglomerates have come in to help Dubai. So somebody should tell our brother that he is dreaming. We still need these roads, electricity and other basic infrastructures to attract foreign donors. They do not give you anything for nothing.
Professor CHUKWUMA SOLUDO (PDP): I have the credentials. I am a professor, a former economic adviser and a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor.
Dr CHRIS NGIGE (AC): So what? One does not need to have a degree in econometrics to be a good administrator. The minimum qualification is WAEC certificate.
Governor PETER OBI (APGA): “Change We Believe In” (Billboard Advert).
Iyom (Hon) Mrs. UCHE EKWUNIFE (PPA): “The Change We Need” (Billboard Advert). It is only a mother that understands the plights of her children. I am not saying that the fathers do not have any role to play, but the mother is closer to the children and reads the lips and minds of her children better than the fathers. So I urge you all to vote for a mother because mama gives when hunger strikes. I represent the symbol of motherhood and that is what it is. I have never failed you before and I cannot afford to fail you now that it matters most. Anambra has seen a lot of trouble and it takes a woman, a mother to restore peace and love in Anambra. Take a look at a man that lost his wife and you can see how devastated he can be, let the mother step into the government house and restore peace into her family.
Professor CHUKWUMA SOLUDO (PDP): (Singing) Anambra has good luck, God loves us all. Chorus,
Dr ANDY UBA (LP): We will do it again. I was the only candidate in 2007, who went on campaign tour of all the communities and villages in the whole of Anambra. I want you to go and investigate that. I went to all the local governments working and feeling the pulse of the people and giving assurances that they will smile if we are in government. We went to every corner and as we went around, we were giving out materials for the people- grinding machines, keke NAPEP, motor cycles and so on. These items were given to me by people who felt they want to contribute to the effort and I gave it out to the people. I was in the Presidency then and I campaigned vigorously asking for people‘s votes and I am doing the same thing now.
Professor MAURICE IWU (INEC): ”Uba‘s candidature belittles democratic process. We contacted the party and said it was a cynical move. It does not help democracy to grow. Even if he wins, it belittles democratic process. We should be allowed to witness the primaries.”
Dr ANDY UBA (LP): Look, this election won‘t be about the party but about individuals and what the people know you can do. If I know that I can do a thing to my people, they will follow me even if I am in party XYX, it does not matter to them.
Professor CHUKWUMA SOLUDO (PDP): I want to thank you all and thank Anambrarians for the massive support you have extended to us and the enthusiasm with which you followed us since we began this process. We have visited all the 177 communities in this state, been to all the wards and local governments area and in all the places we went, your support have been overwhelming. Again you know that all the opinion polls conducted by credible organisations both in Nigeria and elsewhere gave us clear lead over others. Never mind all those materials they are now churning out of business centres and cyber cafes in the name of opinion polls through which they are allocating figures to themselves, but Anambra people are not fools. If we are in PDP, it would be easy for us to get approval and funding for the International Airport we have in our plan, the same with the Sea Port and Greater Onitsha Water Project. If we are in PDP, we will get the Federal Government's backing to execute those projects that would transform Anambra to Africa Dubai Taiwan and create hundreds of thousands of jobs for our people. That is why it has to be PDP, so tell your father, your mother, your sisters and your brothers and your neighbours and friends to cast their votes for the PDP on Saturday where there is umbrella.
Chief PETER OBI (Rep. Freight Forwarders in Anambra): If a woman marries two husbands, she will tell the best among the two. We have not seen somebody like Ngige. For the period he was governor, he did so much for the people, particularly in the area of roads. He had only N42bn, but he did so much, and the people saw it, notwithstanding the problem he had. That is why we want to give him support. If Ngige is still in power, he would have done so much in road rehabilitation. He would have checked the rising cost of living and tenancy.bn.Anybody who is true son of Anambra should vote for Ngige. He will never change.
Alhaji MUHAMEED ABDULLAHI (Publicity Sec., UNPD): Although our party, UNPD would not field candidate for the Saturday governorship poll in the state, the party has a say in the affairs of the nation. In Anambra State where we have mustered a lot of support despite being a newly registered party with socialist ideology, we cannot sit back and fold our arms. We have decided to support Hon. Uche Ekwunife. It is pertinent to say that Nigerian women are better managers of resources with ability to curb corruption, provide the best atmosphere for better governance and take the state to the next level. Please cast your votes for Ekwunife . Source: nigeriansfornigeria.org: ANAMBRA 2010: Some Quotations From the Campaigns |

MrCrackles: ^ ^ It is ridiculous. . . We dont want despoil, un-clothed or bosom. . . We want ti/t/ties, ra/pe and n.udi/ty lol those words are from being indecent. Ok if you wanna change something, make it attractive For instance womanliness is dirty but kitten is not. Nigerians know what is kitten, google does not care Instead of using womanliness use kitten to edit. Instead of d.ck use johnthomas or Rod This is better than manliness. haba! |
Crime › Re: Fut Minna Expels 5 Students For Alleged RAPE by agabaI23(m): 9:56pm On Feb 03, 2010 |
MrCrackles: Despoil - WTF is that? That word has to be removed. . . . What is wrong with ra/pe Cracks Their so many of such which I do not see the ratinale for the editing. Ra/pe= despoil N.ude= unclothed B.reast = bossom There is nothing wrong with any of these words and the replacements are rather ridiculous! A n.ude club is called unclothed club. I do understand the reason for it but I know what considers indecent and those words above are not among them. Topic Serves them good! |
Exactly Uju, why make a mountain outta a molehill, why fix something that ain't broke? Zimex From your post, it is clear your ex was "the one that got away", if the strong reason you had to part way is still a "barrier", implore with your ex to quit contacting you out of respect, that you have moved on now and then delete his number from your phone, if the "barrier" is still there, thats a good thing, as that should act as a constant reminder that having anything to do with him is a no-no. THE ONLY PROBLEM YOUR POST HAS HIGHLIGHTED SO FAR IS THAT YOUR husband works away from home and you only get to see him at the weekend, so their is no need telling him about your ex, because he will only translate it to "my wife is giving me an ultimatum that she will stray if i don't find another job that will not keep me away from home". Not a nice thing to offload on him. So why not take the initiative instead and find ways to meet in the middle, tell him your concerns, that you are feeling isolated and neglected, that you need to keep the union fresh and alive, find time to visit each other, have some brainstorming session with him to find ways to work on the issue, discuss the possibilities of relocating to where he is based, make the most of skype, etc . . . If you both can't create the spare time needed to see each other as much as you would like, try to endure and find some hobbies to indulge in to wile away your time, because i am sure this situation of working away from home is temporary.
Wow ! When she is not causing trouble, she can be very brilliant! Mischief woman! On a normal day, she will be yarning out of rail! Good one. This is 2010 afterall! |
