Last weekend, John Kumuyi, the 2nd son of Deeper Life General Overseer, Pastor W.F Kumuyi married his longtime fiancee, Love Odih in Jamaica.

The stylish wedding ceremony that was graced by top Deeper Life Dignitaries from all over the world was success.

The glamourous wedding ceremony happened to be one of its kind in the highly indoctrinated church.

As we are all aware that the church’s doctrine forbids women wearing flash wedding gowns, jewelries, and makeup on their wedding day.

But for Love Odih, the daughter of Deeper Life’s national overseer in Jamaica, the reverse is the case.

On her wedding day, Love appeared beautiful with her earrings, sexy wedding dress, eyelashes and makeup.

This has sparked serious anger amongst concerned deeper lifers and outsiders who think this is a bit contrary to the church’s doctrine.

Below are few comments on this controversial topic;

Pastor W.F.kumuyi is not to blame for this worldliness in Jamaican branch of the church.The church has a hierarchy and it is expected that the national overseer of jamaican church should maintain godly standard and not to yield to john and his daughter in their craving for the world even though it involves pastor’s children! What pastor Kumuyi expected to see as visitor during the wedding ceremony is godliness of the arrangement and not the contrary! 1. Accumulation of Fluoride in the Body

Fluoride accumulates in the body. Healthy adult kidneys excrete 50 to 60% of the fluoride ingested each day (Marier & Rose 1971). Any remaining fluoride accumulates in the body, typically in the bones and pineal gland (Luke 1997, 2001). Babies and children excrete less fluoride from their kidneys and absorb up to 80% of ingested fluoride into their bones (Ekstrand 1994). The concentration of fluoride in the bones increases over a lifetime (NRC 2006).

2. Fluoride and Bottle-fed Babies

Bottle-fed babies receive the highest doses of fluoride. Since they have a liquid diet, formula-fed babies have the highest exposure to fluoride. Infant exposure to fluoridated water has been repeatedly found to be a major risk factor for developing dental fluorosis later in life (Marshall 2004; Hong 2006; Levy 2010). As a result, dental researchers have recommended that parents of newborns not use fluoridated water when reconstituting formula (Ekstrand 1996; Pendrys 1998; Fomon 2000; Brothwell 2003; Marshall 2004).

The American Dental Association (ADA), the biggest advocates of fluoridation, sent a November 6, 2006 email alert to its members advising that parents should make baby formula with “low or no-fluoride water.”



3. Fluoride and Reproductive Problems

Fluoride given to animals at high doses destroys the male reproductive system. Fluoride damages sperm and increases the rate of infertility in a number of species (Kour 1980; Chinoy 1989; Chinoy 1991; Susheela 1991; Chinoy 1994; Kumar 1994; Narayana 1994a,b; Zhao 1995; Elbetieha 2000; Ghosh 2002; Zakrzewska 2002).

A U.S. epidemiological study showed increased rates of infertility among couples living in areas with 3 ppm or more fluoride in the water (Freni 1994). Two studies showed reduced level of circulating testosterone in males living in high fluoride areas (Susheela 1996; Barot 1998). A study of fluoride-exposed workers reported a “subclinical reproductive effect” (Ortiz-Perez 2003).

4. Fluoride and Brain Damage

“It is apparent that fluorides have the ability to interfere with the functions of the brain.” — the National Research Council (2006)

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) lists fluoride among about 100 chemicals for which there is “substantial evidence of developmental neurotoxicity.” Experiments on animals reveal that fluoride accumulates in the brain and alters mental behavior (Mullenix 1995). There have been over 100 animal experiments showing that fluoride damages the brain and impacts learning and behavior.

Advocates of fluoridation counter that these animal studies are invalid because high doses of fluoride were used. However, it takes 5-20 times more fluoride to reach the same plasma levels in rats as in humans (Sawan 2010). One animal experiment found effects at very low doses of fluoride (Varner 1998). In this study, rats were fed for one year with 1 ppm fluoride in their water (the same amount used in tap water fluoridation), using either sodium fluoride or aluminum fluoride. These rats had changes to their kidneys and brains, an increased uptake of aluminum in the brain, and the formation of beta-amyloid deposits which are associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

5. Fluoride and Lowered IQ

There have been 24 studies from China, Iran, India and Mexico that show an association between fluoride exposure and reduced IQ. One research team (Xiang 2003a,b) estimated that fluoride may lower IQ at 1.9 ppm (parts per million), while a recent preliminary study (Ding 2011) found a lowering of IQ in children drinking water at levels ranging from 0.3 to 3 ppm. The authors of this latter study reported that for each increase of 1 ppm fluoride measured in the urine there was a loss of 0.59 IQ points. According to the National Research Council (2006), “the consistency of the results [in fluoride/IQ studies] appears significant enough to warrant additional research on the effects of fluoride on intelligence.”

6. Fluoride and Early Puberty

Reduced IQ is not the only neurotoxic effect of fluoride. Studies have shown an association between fluoride exposure and impaired visual-spatial organization (Calderon 2000; Li 2004; Rocha-Amador 2009); while three other studies have found an association between prenatal fluoride exposure and fetal brain damage (Han 1989; Du 1992; Yu 1996).

Fluoride also affects the pineal gland. Studies by Jennifer Luke (2001) show that fluoride accumulates in the human pineal gland to very high levels. In her Ph.D. thesis, Luke has also shown in animal studies that fluoride reduces melatonin production and leads to an earlier onset of puberty (Luke 1997).

Consistent with Luke’s findings, one of the earliest fluoridation trials in the U.S. (Schlesinger 1956) reported that on average young girls in the fluoridated community reached menstruation 5 months earlier than girls in the non-fluoridated community.

7. Fluoride and Thyroid Function

Fluoride negatively impacts thyroid function. In the Ukraine, Bachinskii (1985) found a lowering of thyroid function, among otherwise healthy people, at 2.3 ppm fluoride in water. In the mid-20th century, fluoride was prescribed by a number of European doctors to reduce the activity of the thyroid gland for patients with hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) (Stecher 1960; Waldbott 1978).

According to a clinical study by Galletti and Joyet (1958), the thyroid function of hyperthyroid patients was reduced at just 2.3-4.5 mg per day of fluoride. To put this finding in perspective, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS, 1991) has estimated that total fluoride exposure in fluoridated communities ranges from 1.6 to 6.6 mg/day. This is a remarkable fact, particularly considering the rampant and increasing problem of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) in the United States and other fluoridated countries. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include depression, fatigue, weight gain, muscle and joint pains, increased cholesterol levels, and heart disease. In 2010, the second most prescribed drug of the year was Synthroid (sodium levothyroxine) which is a hormone replacement drug used to treat an underactive thyroid.

8. Fluoride and Arthritis

Fluoride causes symptoms of arthritis. Skeletal fluorosis (a fluoride-induced bone and joint disease) mimic the symptoms of arthritis (Singh 1963; Franke 1975; Teotia 1976; Carnow 1981; Czerwinski 1988; DHHS 1991). According to an article published in Chemical & Engineering News, “Because some of the clinical symptoms mimic arthritis, the first two clinical phases of skeletal fluorosis could be easily misdiagnosed” (Hileman 1988). According to the CDC (2002), 1 in 3 Americans have some form of arthritis. Few studies have been done to determine whether the high prevalence of arthritis in America and other fluoridated countries could be related to growing fluoride exposure.

9. Fluoride Damages Bone

Fluoride damages bone. An early fluoridation trial (Newburgh-Kingston 1945-55) revealed a two-fold increase in bone defects among children in the fluoridated community (Schlesinger 1956). In 2001, Alarcon-Herrera reported a correlation between the severity of dental fluorosis and the frequency of bone fractures in children and adults in a high fluoride area in Mexico.

10. Fluoride and Hip Fractures in the Elderly

Fluoride may increase hip fractures in the elderly. High doses of fluoride (average 26 mg per day) were used in trials to treat patients with osteoporosis in an effort to harden their bones and reduce fracture rates. This treatment actually led to a higher number of fractures, particularly hip fractures (Inkovaara 1975; Gerster 1983; Dambacher 1986; O’Duffy 1986; Hedlund 1989; Bayley 1990; Gutteridge 1990. 2002; Orcel 1990; Riggs 1990 and Schnitzler 1990).

One Chinese study looked at hip fractures in six Chinese villages, and found an increase in hip fractures as the concentration of fluoride rose from 1 ppm to 8 ppm (Li 2001).

Acer’s Computex press conference can be summed up in a single word: touch. Acer announced several new products including what it billed as the industry’s first 8-inch Windows 8 tablet, a 6-inch phablet and updates to its Aspire S3 and S7 laptops—all equipped with touchscreens. This comes on the heels of a recent event in New York where Acer announced several products with touchscreens including the unusual Aspire R7 15.6-inch convertible.

Acer CEO JT Wang said that Acer is squarely focused on developing the best tablets and touch-enabled laptops. “Users are becoming smarter and demand a significant improvement in the user experience,” he said. “If you don't do that, they won't buy.”

The biggest news was the Iconia W3 Windows 8 tablet. Both Intel and Microsoft have talk extensively about the need for smaller, lower-priced Windows devices to compete with Apple's iPad Mini and inexpensive Android tablets. The Iconia W3-810 has an 8.1-inch display (1280x800), Intel’s 1.8GHz Atom Z2760 dual-core processor (Clover Trail), 2GB of memory, and either 32- or 64GB of storage. It also has a microSD slot for expansion as well as micro-HDMI and USB. Perhaps to emphasize the difference between a full Windows 8 tablet and existing small tablets, the Iconia W3 also comes with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 pre-installed and has an optional full-size Bluetooth keyboard. It weighs 500 grams and is only 11.4mm thick, but Acer said it has up to 8 hours of battery life. The Iconia W3-810 will be available in the second quarter starting at $379.

Acer also announced an even smaller “phablet,” the Liquid S1, with a 5.7-inch display (1280x720), MediaTek MT6589 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of memory and 8GB of storage. The S1 is largely a “pure” Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) device, but Acer has added its own Float Use Interface, which it claims helps with multi-tasking, as well as Float camera, maps, calculator and notes apps (a digital stylus is optional). The Liquid S1 supports dual SIM cards and will be available in Asia and Europe starting in the third quarter, but it doesn’t support 4G LTE and won’t be available in the U.S.

The Acer Aspire S7 was one of the best Ivy Bridge Ultrabooks. The model I tested, the S7-391, has a 13.3-inch Full HD (1920x1080) touchscreen. The new model, the S7-392, adds an optional WQHD (2560x1440) touchscreen and Intel’s fourth-generation (Haswell) Core i5 and i7 processors, as well as up to 8GB of memory and either a 128- or 256GB SSD. The S7 retains the same basic design with Gorilla Glass 2 on the back of the display and an ultra-slim case (13mm) that weighs only 1.3 kilograms. Acer claims battery life with Haswell has increased 33 percent to as much as 7 hours. The S7-392 will be available in the third quarter (the 11-inch S7-191 has been discontinued).

I wonder why they are hiding their faces

Touch-free, or gesture recognition, technology is something that has been lacking from mobile devices for years, and is made more apparent in the latest smartphones and tablets. It is something all mobile phone manufacturers have been scrambling to develop and implement for years.

Now, the industry appears to have taken a step further in making such technology a reality, thanks to the research of Andrea Colaco and her co-partner Ahmed Kirmani. According to TechGig.com, Goan native Colaco and Kirmani won the Massachusetts Institute Technology's (MIT) entrepreneurship competition with their touch-free mobile tech--called "3dim"--which provides real-time, millimeter-accurate 3D gesture sensing by employing patented signal processing methods.

With the win, the two innovators received US$100,000 in funds and will use it to develop the technology with mobile manufacturers which had expressed an interest.

So what does the future lie with regard to this technology, specifically to consumers? Well, to begin with, it would obviously eliminate the need to use a keyboard or touch screen for many tasks, as gestures could be programmed into mobile devices to recognize the pattern and then execute the command.

Personally, I don’t think it would completely eliminate the need for either a keyboard or touch screen as it would be both challenging and difficult to send e-mails and text messages, for example, using simple gestures. Perhaps some of the commands to get from the home screen to the text editor could be eliminated with gestures, though.

What I find as probably one of the best uses for gesture recognition is implementing a whole new level of personal security for devices, along with both stored content and data. In other words, without a certain gesture, perhaps the device won't activate or unlock, and sensitive information would remain hidden, especially in the event of the device being damaged, stolen, or gone missing.

By the same token, users would have to remember what gestures have been entered, or programmed, to unlock their content.

That being said, perhaps one of the greatest features for touch-free technology will be the elimination of multiple windows to run several applications since, with a gesture, users can move seamlessly from one application to another.

Another niche area is games, as gesture recognition would bring a whole new level to games on mobile devices, which in itself is a growing industry.

Not even the adverse weather conditions in Russia is enough deterrent for Nigerian human traffickers as no fewer than 200 Nigerian girls are trafficked every month to Russia for prostitution, says Nigeria’s ambassador to Russia, Asam Asam.

Asam, who spoke against the backdrop of consular challenges faced by the embassy, disclosed this in an interview with the Europe Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Berlin.

An investigation revealed that the crime has declined in Wesjtern Europe following strict laws on illegal migration, and joint efforts by Nigeria and the governments of those countries to curb the menace.

However, attention has shifted to Eastern Europe as the new destination for the trade. In the last decade, Italy had seemed the capital of human trafficking, especially for young girls who were lured to the country by a mafia gang under the pretext that some house keeping or floor sales jobs had been arranged for them. But they ended up serving as prostitutes on the street of many European countries.

According to Asam, “The major consular challenge we face in Moscow is the influx of trafficked persons from Nigeria, not less than 200 girls are trafficked every month, and we have so many of them exposed to danger.

“Some are thrown out of the window and treated harshly, there must be a way of stopping these racketeering; these girls are not tourists, students or government officials, yet they are given visas from the Russian embassy in Abuja.

“So far we have deported over 240 girls since 2012. You will be shocked at the extent of resistance from the girls. We tell them Russia is not a destination for prostitutes, yet they still come.”

He said the mission tries to curb the menace by arranging deportation exercises for those caught, but the challenges are enormous.

According to NAN, the envoy said such interventions would be more effective at the point of entry, saying “the strategy is to stop them from Nigeria, and fish out those involved in the trade.”

“For instance a well-known Russian human trafficker who has been in the trade for about 20 years was caught in Nigeria. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons (NAPTIP) was on the verge of releasing her before I filed a protest from Moscow to the Comptroller General of Immigration,” Asam stressed.

He said even the parents of those trafficked encourage their children. “I spoke to the mother of one of the girls and she said her daughter should remain in Moscow and try to survive the ordeal, this is very sad indeed coming from one’s parent,” he said.

He tasked the media on sensitising the public on the dangers of trafficking in Russia, saying: “This East European nation has become a new destination for them, and believe me it is a very big crime here."
