Guy, it is common sense to assist your customer. You cannot sit back without knowing what 're being put in your boot. There is something we call work station, which your car is, and its part of your duty to organize it.

Who are the OUR? if I'm doing a business and I can't recover my capital in 6months or a year, then it doesn't worth it. You just want to impress people here you are bereft of biz ideas. If I'm selling 800pieces (trying to push it to 1000pieces before December) of slice bread per week at N240 each...make your calculation. I have 5 staffs, the highest earn 60k per month, 3 earn 35k and 2 earn 30k per month. I run my gen 4 to 5hours per day. Pls do your calculation.

Gazzuzz ,

With your 2million, travel to Ondo state, buy 35logs at 50k per log. Transport it to shagamu with 150k, load it in a container, forwarding fee is 1,100,000. A container is sold at $12,000.
Buy palm oil from ondo, and sell in that big market close to ketu. There are women that buy 500 25litres keg every 2weeks.

There's a way guys construct "coldroom" now, let them construct for you. It is better than an irregular 35k with repairs per week....

Etc....

Your oil sales biz and your car repair workshop is giving you the cashflow you need as a man/husband/father. What can 35k even do in a week?? Is that what you guys call a cash flow?? You are not just informed!

(Added this)
Gazzuzz , let your wife sell pet drinks in whole sale. 2m will give her lots of bigcola products (that's the new drink for the masses), then she can add cocacola n Pepsi products...

Look around you, Haruna is densely populated. What's giving Nigeria relevance in the market place today is her population.
Could you just listen to yourself. It's easier said than done. Business is all about passion. ...

My guy. Correct! The rule is to be courteous. Don't turn yourself into slave in the bid to offer 5* service. Loading and offloading luggages is not in your job description.
I stand to be corrected my ppl. I strongly believe that loading and offloading is part our responsibilities.
...It's just like you opening the boot for customer to start arranging their luggages by him /herself, what would you expect from such customer?

It's the customer service that keeps the job running if not many would have stopped using us, and go back to the local cabs.

That's how most of them behave, before you enter their they already suspecting you. Drivers dey really suffer for these people hands.
The woman was too fast to suspect, why didn't she go back with the guy to the airport as he suggested? Besides she wasn't even talking as if she is remorseful for making the guy go through this pain.
I really don't understand the argument here. was the woman not present at the scene? I was surprised to read this about Nigerian Police force. the question is, how big is the bag? was she absent from the point of the incidence? we are talking about a bag here, not a phone o.
May God save the poor masses from this ungodly humiliation.

Going forward, Lesson learnt!!

Camry big daddy and honda civic 2004, which one is preferable for uber. Pls advise in terms of vehicle maintenance and fuel consumption, and for a new driver. Thanks
Bros, this is a simple question you could answer yourself. it's very obvious that Camry isn't good for uber
considering maintenance and fuel consumption. Google is your friend, Pls use it for further clarrification.

Experts in the house can also help.

Buy sound corolla if you can or matrix as gazzuz said . I use the d4 avensis bros, it is a luxury car.
This extract is from taxify website " We only accept 4 door Sedans & SUVs. 2 door sedans and hatchbacks are not acceptable.

Does this means there website is not updated or they still not accepting a hatchback cars like MATRIX.

To the guy who wants to leave his 181k per month job for uber.
There are so many questions u need to ask yourself and that should out you in check.

1. Where do you see yourself in the next 5years?
2. Will this job of yours get you to where you want to be in the next five years?
3. What's your passion, does your job give you that sense of fulfillment?
4.How long have you bin an emoloyee (we all know some organizations promotes within a certain number of years, what's your growth like with the company)

5.No one is irreplaceable, (God forbid), if anything happens to you tomorrow, how soon will they get a replacement.

5. Are you married, do u have kids, etc

There are so many more questions I would have loved to ask but that should be enough for now.

When your intuition starts telling your something, pay attention to it.
A lot of people are saying they will leave uber for the 181k job, these are people who gat no idea what you go through, what your job entails and the duration of hours you work. There ar Yes 181k looks enticing but have they thought about the health implications, yes there is no job without risk, even footballers nurse injuries too..

One thing people should realize is, greatness can't really be achieved sitting in your comfort zone.

True life story, I have a friend who resigned from a job of 250k weekly to start up her biz, trust me, starting was very difficult for her but eventually she had a breakthrough and now she can comfortably boast of making 350-400k monthly.

Bruv, my advice is, take a leave maybe 2weeks or a month, use it to learn the scopes of ehailing biz, then compare and contrast. If it is something u can do and find joy in it, then go ahead.
Drivers are still making weekly remittance of 30-35k and some choose days to work, now u will be driving your car and not compelled or forced to make these weekly payment. If they can do it, you can also do it and also have time for self development while u work on what u really want to do.
Bro, you are better of as a counsellor cos u possess the most right attitude to comment on issues.
I can see you as people's manager in your daily activities. Lastly, you have really develop yourself in some soft skills and I bet that the sky can only be a starting point for you.
My brother resigned from one of the most popular multinational coy, where he had risen to a very top position as a result of work ethics. Believe me that no organization will be paying that sum without what we call capacity utilization, and in some coy, they will keep u as late as 11pm or even 12am cos u need to deliver on your job.
Let this guy quietly answer those questions and follow suit what his conclusions without bias.

Yes it's very realistic and what's not realistic is when one peg his weekly remittance to 45-50k with the aforementioned vehicles. If said cars are toks, then 40 is okay.
As for comprehensive insurance, it depends on the value of the car and the package
Yes! talking about comprehensive insurance, does uber/taxify accepts insurance from coy of our choice? Pls enlighten. ...

the Toyota matrix shares the same Engine with the Corolla, though the interior tends to be different.the Elantra is a good car also, with low fuel consumption, but plagued with transmission issues, according to online reviews, and a seasoned auto mechanic on this thread.the engine Also costs an arm and a leg.
the Kia Rio is King of fuel mileage amongst the trio, but with not so good ground clearance, and poor second hand value, and high maintenance, especially if bought Nigerian use.
if you can afford the matrix, it'd be a winner anyday.readily available and affordable parts.low maintenance, and rugged. good ground clearance too
Thanks boss....good food for thought!

eherbal, your expertise is needed here. grin cheesy grin

If they accept Matrix and it's within your budget, you're good to go.

For me this are my preference:
1. Toyota Corolla ( grin grin grin) - You need plenty aboki for security. cool angry grin grin
2. Hyundai Elantra
3. Hyundai Accent
4. Honda Civic (Ask Dru23 and Gazzuzz)

But my Oga thebigkendo, would suggest Honda Accord. grin grin grin He his a good Honda fan.

Best of luck sir.

If you're getting a car for this business, get a car within your budget and make sure you still have at least 100k in your Akant for registration and insurance.
Thanks TheCar. .....eherbal you have been summoned by my boss so could we have your input on the subject matter plssssss .
I would greatly appreciate input from whom is presently using Matrix.

I am not a corrola fan.

Carshopper, Dru23 and Gazzuzz are the experts when it comes to Elantra. I don't use Elantra and I believe you should go for it if you're buying 07 and above since you or the driver can drive it on both Uber and Taxify platform.
Thanks TheCar, I really appreciate your feedback but I will appreciate more from people using Elantra at the moment cos maintenance is key, and I wouldn't want a situation where after purchase, will face difficulties in maintaining due to availability of spare parts (or high cost) and auto repairers.
