So far the only issues in the farm is just cough which is being tackled with tylodox.... And one of our bird has swollen eye filled with cloudy substances for some days now, the eye is always closed... But good news, we have suspected that it was caused by worms in the eye and is being tackled with drops of Ivermectin solution directly into the affected eye... Though it is not a very recommended way to treat eye worm but it is effective...
More info to come as time unfolds

Haliraph:
Please how much will it cost to raise 100 broilers?
100 broilers to week 8 should not cost you more than 80k to 90k excluding feeders, drinkers, and pen house constructions

For how many weeks do you want to keep them? Do you have a pen house already?

Day 6...
Mortality is still at zero...
Antibiotics and multivitamins have been withdrawn from their water...
Birds are very agile and always eating.....
Heat application is at a minimum or should I say controlled manner, i.e we monitor their behavior towards the heat supplies... During the day they pant and run from it so we just give heat during the cool evening and at night..... We plan to totally remove the heat source after day seven...

AgricultureRe: My First Broiler Experience by agslow(op): 7:20pm On Oct 05, 2018
Yeah.. Buh the heat produced by the stoves can cover the whole room... Although this room can brood 200 or more, we are using it because it based on availability... If a smaller room was available it would have been used instead... Thanks for the observation though
EMMAACHILE:

It's 13 by 10 ft sir[
EMMAACHILE:
That structure looks larger than 13 feet. Can you take the size again?

LordKingsley:
I think the space available is very small for one hundred birds. To a large extent, space affects the performance of poultry.
That pen house ia 13ft by 10ft.. That is stocking at 1 bird per 1.3 sq ft or 9 birds per sq metres which is not up to the recommended spacing pwr bird which is 10 to 12 birds per sq metres or 1 bird per 1.1 sq ft....
AgricultureRe: My First Broiler Experience by agslow(op): 8:32pm On Sep 23, 2018
how do you mean sir... Please enlighten me
EMMAACHILE:
That density will not be sustainable
