I got my Am 4weeks after my interview, sent my SL 5 weeks after my Am( due to some unforeseen circumstances of course and not that I wanted to test the embassy). I waited for 2 weeks and 2 days to get my visum and before then I was troubled thinking that I am in trouble for submitting late.. Out of that fear, my friend visited the foreign office in my city to check if the delay was from them and guess what " they didn't receive anything from Nigeria embassy for verification " you know I used to ask myself a lot of questions about this SL verification of a thing " shebi na the same people wey issue SL you de return back the SL they issued for them to verify?? " it sounds funny but then the woman my friend met told him that any German embassy has a machine to detect a fake or original SL. Their is a seal on it that a fake one ( or what have you) does not carry..So to be honest I came to realize from my experience that whether BA or SL your Visa is highly dependent on the Visa Officer ( VO) with your file and not any state your SL comes from. If you doubt it ask yourself why some folks with BA are the still complaining about delay in issuing their Visa.. Why not Automatic issuing of Visa to BA guys? It takes absolutely nothing to verify from fintiba or any other bank one used but then we hear of different stories..I encourage everyone of you to pray hard and take necessary actions when time comes but I assure that 97% of Visa delay is from Lagos and not your City.. I went to the embassy 1 week after submitting my Am as God may have it my VO stepped out and with Paulinus's permission I rushed her and she went inside checked my file and told me it wasn't Ready my friend went to Allien office they said the last time the embassy communicated with them concerning my case was the date I got my AM so that the next message they are expecting from the embassy is that they have issued my Visa not any SL document..97% of our Visa process happens in Lagos so I encourage everyone of you to play your part and leave the rest to God every other story will not do you any good.. Thanks.

Just thank God for creating you in a different family, they are the victim of the age long system and it’ll be really hard for them to break from the shackles of the bondage of the past generation. This life is a test and no man is beyond test. If you can’t help them, just leave them to enjoy themselves in the way they can put smile to their face. I studied Mechanical engineering with 2.93 CGPA but I am a data analyst by profession. I love to go for Masters in data engineering or analytics but the setback is the schools I have checked request bachelor degree in computer science or informatics...

I would have considered going for Master in Mechanical engineering but the requirements are way above my CGPA....

I need your inputs and advice....

Hello guys,
So my visa was delayed by the Embassy until I figured out what the problem was. It was delayed for about for 2 months and 3 weeks( no one should mention village people ).
The delay was because I sent them a printed copy of my SL instead of the original copy (I didn't have the original yet). I sent lots of mails and made several calls until 4th January, I called, the call operator asked, the visa section said they didn't understand the proof of means of subsistence I sent, and so I figured it's because It wasn't the original.
I took the original to them same day and they called me 4 days later to ask when I'd like to travel.
A piece of advice, ensure you send them the originals of whatever documents they ask for after AM, (especially SL, that's if it wasn't with you during your interview) because they may not tell you why your visa is delayed until it's too late.
Also, always go with your visa application receipt if you wanna drop off your documents and you do not have appointment letter, else Paulinus will use you to shine( this post would be incomplete without the name 'Paulinus' ), he shined with me and I had to take bike from Walter Carrington to the Mainland and back just to beat 12 noon closing time .

And so I bounced into Germany with my small traveling bag, a Tshirt and a Jean Jacket like a big boy.
When I walked out of the plane, the cold shocked my neck and my legs and my body started vibrating intermittently like I had seasonal epilepsy, and I told myself 'mehn -5^C doesn't look good on you'. When I walked out of the Airport, my big boyness vanished, I became dumb as the vibration had taken over my entire body.
Thanks to one of the Ogas here who came to my rescue at the Airport, I would have started going to Thuringia instead of Duisburg.
So if you coming to Deutschland any time soon(though winter is gradually going), ensure you have your thermal wears and appropriate jackets, else the cold will deal with you until you find your feet.

For small traveling bag, the advantage is that you wouldn't struggle from the airport to wherever you going but you'd have to deal with eating food that tastes like 'what I don't know' . If you can, bring as much home food as possible, unless you have money for African stores.

And so, if you using SL, ensure you come with enough money, you'll need it for feeding, train transportation(Until you get your semester ticket). You should also ensure you have a temporary place of abode, else you'll need money for temporary shared rooms until you get your apartment, except, of course, you secured a room/apartment before coming over.

Lastly, if you applied/are applying for accommodation with Studierendenwerk(especially for NRW), you can pay the reservation fee when they ask you to, just to have a room reserved for you, but do not sign their contract just yet until you've secured your visa and gotten over to Deutschland, to avoid having nasty experience.

P.S. Everything I wrote about isn't standard, it's just personal opinion.
