PoliticsUche Aguoru: Gov Ikpeazu Phd, Where Is Abia Money Being Kept? by Aguoru122(op): 4:24pm On Jan 15, 2017
While Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu PhD, and his merchants of lies in the name of media goons, have perfected the art of keeping us busy with the 10.6 billion naira Paris return funds, it appears we seem to have forgotten that Abia received November and December allocations which stands the total inflow from FG to Abia accounts at 15.2 billion naira as at December 2016.

And till date Teaching hospital staff are being owed 8 months salary, Abiapoly 7 months, teachers will resume strike on Monday due to governments inability to pay them for 6 months and counting, Funds were not released to Local governments for November and December, no take off grants for the newly elected council chairmen and Councillors, Commissioners, SSA’s SA’s and other staff of government house are being owed two months salaries, ASUBEB has not received the two months out of 8 months salary promised them to make them stop their planned strike and on Friday 13th of January the organised Labour in Abia state sent out a SOS message for FG to intervene in Abia and make Okezie Ikpeazu pay their salaries....READ MORE=> http:///2jlcKCW

PoliticsFailures Of Abia Gov. Ikpeazu: Workers Owed For 7 Months, Others by Aguoru122(op): 9:57am On Jan 07, 2017
By Ifeanyi Okali

I have tried to monitor all that has been happening since governor Okezie Ikpeazu PhD came in as governor of Abia State. And I am compelled to let the world know the extent his his failures despite the huge amount of failures that has passed through his hands since he assumed office;

SALARIES: Workers welfare has hit an all-time low in many agencies and parastatals in the state: For example, Abia Polytechnic workers and staff of state university teaching hospital went on Christmas break without pay as they are being owed seven months salaries. Similarly, local government workers and staff of the state broadcasting media outfit, BCA, have not been paid for about months.

ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION: The governor, has totally failed in the area of refuse management and waste disposal, he has not been able to tackle the issue of environmental sanitation in the state. The problem of garbage disposal in Umuahia the capital city of the state and the commercial city of Aba remains intractable. Although there has been improvement in the area, Aba is still relatively dirty and this has been blamed on the poor funding of ASEPA, the agency responsible for refuse disposal in the state. The agency lacks adequate garbage disposal equipment, vehicles, staff and other logistics to properly carry out its duties.

HEALTH: The governor has not done anything noticeable in the health sector. The state University Teaching Hospital is almost comatose. The primary health care service is in a poor and shabby condition across the state.

SLOW PACE OF WORK: Most roads that the government started are yet to be completed apart from Ominyi drive and a few others. Even the road leading to the governor’s village, Ururuka from Obikabia Junction is yet to be completed.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION: The Local government election contrary to his promise was everything but free and fair. The election was described by the opposition, monitoring groups and other analysts as a charade and a shame to democracy despite the high expectations based on several promises credited to him that the election will be free, fair and credible.

May God Help Abia State......

Eminent businessman and former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has called on Nigerians to bury their differences in the New Year for the sake of peace, unity and progress.

Kalu made these remarks on Wednesday at a dinner hosted in his honour by former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika at his Isuikwuato country home.

The businessman cum politician noted that for development to thrive in Abia State, stakeholders must come together as one, regardless of political, economic and religious differences, adding that the collective interest of Abians is superior to individual ambitions.

PoliticsThe Abia Impeachment Story, What The House Did Not Tell Us by Aguoru122(op): 1:26pm On Jan 02, 2017
By Uche Aguoru

The Impeachment of Rt Hon. Martins Azubuike is no longer news to Nigerians, and the purported sins of the ex-speaker of the Abia house of assembly is at this moment a familiar story every follower of political events in the country is used to.

But just like every military coup de'tat, the coup executioners will always have a story or the other to feed the gullible public who in every of such circumstances does not have any contribution to the action that has been taken by the force of the barrel of the gun.

Reading through Hon.Cosmos Ndukwe, the deputy Speaker and the house committee chairman on media and publicity,s submission currently being spread across the media space, in a contrived but purposeless attempt at Justifying the action of the Abia house of Assembly, which has placed the ABHA in a position in the Guiness Book Of Records as the only legislative Assembly across the globe to produce a record of 2 speakers within 24 hours, one begins to wonder if actually the half truths being re-echoed into the hearing organs of every interested listener is the actual stimulus for their action.

The Deputy Speaker cited loss of confidence, financial recklessness and lack of inclusive leadership, while I can comfortably discuss financial recklessness, I don't know what consists of non inclusive leadership in a house where every issue is debated by all members before a decision is reached.

If Martins Azubuike has been financially reckless as propounded by the house through the Deputy Speaker how come he doesn't owe workers in the house of assembly and has even paid up salaries and bonuses of all the staff of the states house of assembly uptill December 2016, the executive arm that has been seen and proven to be financially reckless, have been unable to pay workers salaries in every department, ministries and agencies in Abia State.

Is it not just a case of giving a dog a bad name just to hang it?

In as much as I am not standing in the gap for Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike as all of the 24 members of the Abia House Of Assembly has never advanced or protected the cause of the ordinary Abian.

I had expected the house to be honourable enough to advance their reasons for the impeachment of the speaker in truism.

I had waited patiently for the house to tell us that it was because Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike refused to approve a fraudulent sum of 5 billion naira brought forward by Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu PhD. out of 10.6 billion naira paris club returns which was meant to be used in offsetting salaries of abia workers and pensioners and has already been signed out by the commisioner of finance Mr. Obinna Oriaku in 10 pieces of Access bank cheques with different company names and contractors meant to be shared between the leadership of the house, the Governor and some stake holders as against the real intendment by which the fund was released by the federal government.

I had also thought that the written submission presented by the Deputy Speaker will contain some basic truths like how the then speaker had insisted that it is inhuman to allow Abia civil servants and pensioners go home on empty stomach while a select few share the sum of 5 billion naira and how he defiantly objected to such a wicked, anti-people and devilishly contrived arrangement and insisted on not shortchanging the masses.

I had expected the house leadership to tell us that the leadership of the house got angry and suddenly lost confidence in Hon. Martins Azubuike not because he wasn't carrying out his duties as speaker diligently, but because he refused to shortchange his conscience as against what they stand to gain financially by sharing the money meant to offset salaries as proposed by the governor which other members of the house welcomed but was objected to by Martins Azubuike and Hon. Ogele.

I do not also want to bother Abians as to the true reasons why Rt.Hon. Njoku threw in the towel after a few hours as speaker, but I want to correct the untruths brought forward by the Deputy Speaker that it was for reasons of equity and zoning, Hon. Kennedy Njoku is from Abia central and I am sure he knows the names of his Village, local government, his constituency and senatorial zone and may not have realised that he is not qaulified by virtue of his geophical location which also falls within the acceptable realms of equitable convenience, just after a few hours of winning the election as the speaker of Abia house of assembly.

The next time you may want to be economical with the truth please be more constructive as Abians are far much more intelligent than you may comprehend.

And I am using this medium to inform Abians that the last has not been heard of this commotion going on in the Abia State House of Assembly, the coming days will present a more interesting drama than we have already beheld.

But one thing is sure Uchechukwu ga emeriri n'Abia in 2017.

PoliticsThe Abia House Of Commotion, Hands Of Esau And Voice Of Jacob by Aguoru122(op): 9:50am On Dec 31, 2016
The Abia House Of Commotion, Hands of Esau and Voice Of Jacob

By Uche Aguoru

The Bible an all knowing wisdom packed and spiritually filled book, which every word there in contained has always come to fruition, hence the biblical axiom, and I quote. "When The Righteous Is On The Throne The People Rejoice.

Watching my state legislature set a record befitting of the Guiness Book of Records in the change of leadership battons  in the house of Assembly by impeaching without service of notice and electing 2 Speakers within 24hrs is surely a record in democracy across the world.

Abia having been known to have always been in the news for the wrong reasons has had it worse since the inception of the present administration led by Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu PhD.

I have followed and listened to the governor's media aides as they have laboriously struggled to exculpate the governor of any involvement in the impeachment drama and the legislative mockery that took place in the Abia legislative chambers between the 29th and 30th of december 2016.

In as much as the craftily wicked, will always find a way to cover up his selfishly motivated actions, but political activities has been so designed that no political activity no matter how discreetly managed can go unnoticed.

While not trying to involve Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the political embroglio that has engulfed the Abia House Of Assembly in the past 2 days, I am also finding it excruciatingly and unbelievably difficult to absolve him of any involvement,  because if my political memory serves me well it is a practical impossibilty that such a change of leadership will be effected in a house of assembly without the chief executive being in the know.

While it is public knowledge that part of the money precisely (250.000.000,) two hundred and fifty million naira out of the (500. 000.000.) Five hundred million that was shared out to the house members to get their accent for the impeachment exercise came directly from the governor.

While not trying to delve into the reasons adduced by the house for impeaching Rt.Honourable Azubuike Martins as all of the reasons brought forward bothers on the welfare of members and has nothing to do with the welfare and interest of the people which they have never protected. My worry is how will Gov. Ikpeazu invest so much interest and finances in the removal of the speaker while ignoring the welfare of the people who are dying in hunger as a result of government's inability to pay salaries?

Why did the governor refuse to present the 2017 budget before the second speaker elected on that day Hon.Kennedy Njoku until he was made to forcefully resign for Barrister Chikwendu Kalu to take over the leadership of the house of assembly all in 24 hours before Governor Ikpeazu appeared in the House Of Assembly munites later obviously in a feighned ignorance of the commotion that has taken over the activities of the House of Assembly?

Why is Governor Ikpeazu, the Deputy Speaker Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe, The majority leader Hon. Chinedum Orji and some other political interest groups within the governor's clique not comfortable with Martins Azubuike?

Having read all the sins listed by the house leadership and read out by Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe the Deputy Speaker of the ABHA I still ask again "What actually did Martins Azubuike do"?

My last question and actual headache that has refused to heal concerning the whole drama is, Why will Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu PhD, the executive governor of Abia State, the States chief security officer, the no 1 civil servant, an academician show more interest in political power play and convenience than the welfare, education, salaries, health, provision of basic infrastructure and general well-being of Abians.

When the unrighteous, the lazy, the politically corrupt, the wicked and the cluelessly inept government is in place the people suffer.

PDP has realised that they messed up in the manner they rigged the process and they are aware that justice is not on PDP side.
They want to balance the equation by appointing councillors front other parties to frustrate our judicial process. Any councillor that is found romancing with PDP will be expelled from the party.

PoliticsAbn: Kudos To Fg For The Payment Of N552.74 Excess Deduction From External Debt by Aguoru122(op): 11:05pm On Dec 23, 2016
ABN: KUDOS TO FG FOR THE PAYMENT OF N552.74 EXCESS DEDUCTION FROM EXTERNAL DEBT SERVICE TO STATE GOVERNORS
____________________
Abia Breaking News team, wish to commend the federal government for once again like a caring and loving father for intervening by approving the payment of N552.74 excess deduction from external debt service to state government with a clear directive to those owing workers salary to use 25 per cent of the money to pay the ooutstandig salary.

However, in order to avoid a repeat of how previous money were diverted by some governors, we wish to suggest that the ICPC, EFCC, Civil Societies, Media and NLC should monitor the disbursement and utilization of the money bumper to bumper because some governors have penchants for diverting money into frivolous and white elephant projects that don't have direct bearing on the masses.

We also challenge governors in this era of economic recession to think outside the box in order to optimize their Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and to tap the abundant mineral resources domiciled in their states instead of waiting for monthly Federal allocation and bail out funds to meet their basic obligation to the people.
Down to Abia State, the God Own State..Governor Okezie Ikpeazu should pay Abia workers their salaries today,Biko!

Finally, we call on the anti-graft agencies to investigate fully and summarily the previous bail out funds given to some governors specifically for payment of backlog of salary and pension arrears owed workers to ascertain whether or not the funds was judiciously used for that purposes

THANKS & GOD BLESS!

Happy Christmas in advance...

PoliticsHon. Ukoh Nkole, Sen MAO Ohuabunwa In A War Of Nihilism by Aguoru122(op): 12:12pm On Dec 12, 2016
By Uche Aguoru

The attitude of those that we often elect as our representatives or leaders in various political capacities in Abia state has always painted a picture of ridicule and mockery of the offices they occupy.

In the last two weeks the Abia airwaves and newspapers has been inundated with paid advertorials, sponsored congratulatory messages and praise singing newstalk from friends of Senator Mao Arukwe Ohuabunwa with every Radio and television station in Abia singing with his name and thanking him for attracting the rehabilitation of Arochukwu/Ohafia road, while on the other hand Hon. Uko Nkole was seen on ground right from the day the contractor touched base and was right there guiding them and addressing the people while Senator MAO was on radio congratulating himself for turning an impossibility to possibility.

While I do not have problems with the roles each of them had played in bringing to site the contractors to come and work on the road, my worry is why the conflict of interest, are they not supposed to be working in synergy, why is Sen. MAO labouring so much to be tagged as the man that attracted the rehabilitation project?

On the part of the Hon. Uko Nkole who though has not shown enough presence in the green chambers, did he attract the road rehabilitation project or can it be said that he outsmarted or snatched Sen. Ohuabunwa’s project that made the Senator to engage in a ferocious media outreach which costs if put together can grade half of the road in contest?

What is really going on and when are we supposed to put a stop to our customary celebration of nullity?

PoliticsDemi Gods Hijack Abia PDP LGA Primaries by Aguoru122(op): 4:29pm On Dec 06, 2016
By Ikeanna Elkino Anya

The outcome of the PDP Local Government Election primaries in Abia State pulls my thought strings awkwardly. In a few local government areas it was done without skirmishes while in some it was heralded by godfatherism, violence, terrorism, death and carnage.

I had expected a more democratic process across board going by the trials and challenges the Ikpeazu administration had faced since inception..if not for any reason..to prove a point that it could with the required political will steer away from the rhetoric that characterised it..that which has to do with legitimacy and trust.

In Umuahia North there were obvious manipulations and outright imposition. A case of choosing a lame duck that will bend to the whims and caprices of the “demi-gods”.
The aspirants wouldn’t care or regret money spent if whomever emerges at the end did so in a transparent process.

In Ikwuano i observed as they all stood up to challenge and out-rightly reject another ‘demi god’.
In Isiala Ngwa its was a different ball game as lives were lost in the process..and i ask why?
Which sane person gets so desperate to engineer remotely or otherwise the death of those he or she wants to lead?
I am yet to see or hear the State government condemn strongly what happened or even let the law bear on it as it should.
These few incidents does not restore confidence neither does it engender goodwill.

The Abia State government can’t afford to open its ranks from within because that is where the war is either lost or won from. The LGA elections has been vehemently advocated for in the past 8 years.
I used several programs on radio to drive advocacy for it…i used every opportunity i had to interview Sen. T.A. Orji (Ochendo) to ask that question that was obviously followed with a promise that never materialised.

Now its here and i must indicate that the process wasn’t what the people wanted. They wanted to be more involved in choosing their mayors and Councillors. They didn’t want demi-gods who by antecedents cant even win elections in their polling units to hand pick their goons to represent the masses. That is not what they wanted.
The enthusiasm that greeted the announcement by government that the elections would hold this December has been replaced by a foreboding that will take more than a miracle to erase. Does it accentuate the questions of legitimacy and trust?..sure it does!
Have hopes been dashed of a detour from the past?….surely!
Can this administration redeem itself and gain peoples confidence?…yes it can!

The Ikpeazu i know is smart, articulate, progressive, transparent and pragmatic.

However, some of the men who are around him..i cant vouch for…they were the major problems of Ochendo's administration and are the major problem of Ikpeazu’s administration. Do away with them…send them on a political exile..and assuredly things will begin to take shape. Let them stay and we might just be on an endless spiral.

By Uche Aguoru

To the political sciolist, the question that engages their psyche on the person of Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah is what will a decent, highly blessed, self fulfilled, God fearing billionaire with a vast business empire like the Master Energy group be doing in politics? Most times these questions arise out of pity and love for his kind nature as against the muddy shark infested political waters that Abia has been turned into by a set of political desperadoes. Who are bent on making sure that the state keeps walking heads down and feet's up, as long as their bank accounts gets fatter every FAAC day.

And the answer lies in a recent speech made by Dr. Ogah in a function where he said and I quote "My venture into politics is out of love for my people and the crave for even development of my state across all sectors as found in other progressive states of the federation."

Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah had in no small way added value to the lives of Abians, he has all..[Read More]..http://www.abnews247.com/?p=16293

Nairaland GeneralWhy We Can’t Use Card Reader For Dec. 17 LG Polls – Abia SIEC Secretary by Aguoru122(op): 7:29am On Nov 22, 2016
The Secretary, Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC), Mr Tony Mgbarine, on Monday explained why the commission jettisoned the use of the card reader for the upcoming Local Government election in the state.

Mgbarine said in an interview with the Newsmen in Umuahia that the decision was taken in order to avoid some problems encountered with card readers during the conduct of the 2015 general elections in the country.

“We are not going to use the card reader because of the problem it caused in the last general elections in the country.

“The functionality of the machine was a problem at that time, when fingerprints of many eligible voters, could not be captured,’’ Mgbarine said.

He further explained that the decision not to deploy the card reader in the conduct of the polls was also informed by “the shortness of time and other things involved in it.”

Mgbarine said that the election would be by “open-secret ballot”, adding that the process had been simplified to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.

He also gave reasons why the commission would not be able to announce the results of the chairmanship polls on the election day.

The secretary said that results from far-flung local government areas, such as Arochukwu, Ukwa east, Umunneochi, would not possibly get to Umuahia early enough for declaration.

He said that apart from the distance, most of the roads leading to the local government areas were in deplorable condition.

“It’s not possible for results from the 17 local government areas, especially, Arochukwu, Ukwa and Umunneochi, to arrive at Umuahia before 5 pm,” he said.

Mgbarine dispelled the fear that the decision by the commission to declare the chairmanship results a day after the election was meant to favour a particular political party.

“The collation, compilation and tabulation of figures are not things you do in a hurry.

“The process is manual and not computerised,” he said, adding that the commission was committed to doing a thorough job.

“So, the gap between the period the elections are conducted and the day the results are announced is not meant to give any political party an advantage.

“We only wanted to do the proper thing so that we eliminate areas where we have errors that would have been avoided,’’ Mgbarine said.

Pensioners numbering over ten thousand on Thursday blocked the dual carriage Bende road in Umuahia the capital of Abia state to protest 12 months of unpaid pension arrears.

Abia Breaking News learnt, most of the pensioners were seen sitting down on the bench and on the tarred road, praying praying loudly against the state government

Some of them also poured libation with what looked like water calling on gods of the land to judge the state government.

Addressing newsmen, the Umuahia Branch Chairman of the National Union of Pensioners, Deacon Amaugo Daniel said their grievances was that this present governor is “insensitive ” to their plight.

“This is why the pensioners are saying, If he wants to kill us, let him go ahead and kill us.

"Pensioners are dying on a daily because of lack of money. The government is owning us 12 months pension as at now. Should it be so?.

"There are people who have patients in the hospital, but cannot secure their release. We served this state for more than 35 years, we suffered for this State and now we cannot eat the fruit of our labour”.

“We are hungry and dying on daily basis and those of us who are tenants can no longer pay their rent because they are not being paid. Our demand now is that he should come and pay us".

"We had earlier written the state governor on the issue and had yet to receive any response from him".

A team of Police men from the Umuahia Central Police Station, led by the Divisional Police Officer, SP Onyeke Odevotu and the Police Public Relations Officer, Nta Ogbonaya later pleaded with the pensioners to leave the road which was about five metres from the CPS, Umuahia....http://www.abnews247.com/pensioners-protest-12-months-unpaid-pension-in-abia/

PoliticsOpinion: Ikpeazu Is Not On Ground, Not Connected With Abia Communities by Aguoru122(op): 3:21pm On Nov 18, 2016
By Chuks Omesie

One of the reasons why it always takes Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu weeks or even a month to make a statement each time any part of the state experiences unfortunate disaster either as Political killings or Herdsmen attack is because he is not on ground in Abia State. He also does not know his way about in the state he is governing.

Okezie Ikpeazu may be sitting as the Governor of Abia State, who happens to be the Chief Security Officer of the State, but the truth remains that he doesn’t know his way about in the state. He equally lacks the confidence of a Governor and it is very dangerous for such a novice to pioneer the affairs of our dear State.

Abia State needs an astute Leader and leadership unlike Okezie and his team. Abia needs someone who knows his way about in the State, who will not take permission from his Godfather before doing anything. The condition of Abia State now calls for a pragmatic leadership and not a lost-minded leadership.

The only reason why Abians have been having bad leaderships since 1999 is because the people have refused to revolt against maladministration and injustice they have been facing. Abians are afraid of deaths even when their leaders are subjecting them to death. Some of the maladministration against the people in the past have been unchallenged, except this time around, people like Alex Otti, FN Nwosu and Uche Ogah stepped in.

One of the dangers of Ikpeazu not being on ground in Abia State is that one can wake up one day and hear that the entire treasury of the state have been looted or that the enemies of the state have wiped out one Community of the State. It is really dangerous to put the entire in state in an unsafe hands.

On how to sustain the state during this recession period, Ikpeazu knows nothing and equally has no plans about it. He is not even aware of the revenue Abia State is generating and how it’s been generated let alone planning how to increase it. He is not aware that revenue contractors make a lot of loots from the revenues, am referring to those given out contracts to collect revenues for the Sate and Local Governments.

Someone contacted me that he was forced to pay 3,000 Naira for a levy called Business Premises. The Receipt given to him was written 1000 Naira and I asked him why he was not issued the receipt of 3000 which he allegedly paid, he told me that the additional 2,000 Naira is for Penalty for paying late and I laughed. I told him that the Penalty should have been covered with a receipt to show that it would enter into the government Purse. These and more are going on in every part of the State where the so called Task-force or Contractors are making more money than the government.

Ikpeazu doesn’t know some of the locations where Contracts he signed are. For instance, during one of his Radio interactions with the people of the State at Magic FM Aba, someone called and asked him his plans for Ngwa Road. He transferred the question to his Commissioner of Works, demanding the situation report of the Contract, the Commissioner casually said that the Contractors are in the site, and Ikpeazu interjected that he thought that the road needs to resurface. Did that statement show that Ikpeazu understand the Contract he signed? Obviously No. I have also confirmed that there is no contractor on ground in the Site except an abandoned damage tipper packed close to the said Site.

Ikpeazu is only interested in occupying the seat as a Governor and not interested in any other thing except his Security Votes and some kickbacks (Apirico) they are probably paying him for any contract he signs.

Ikpeazu is really seeing himself as an opportuned Governor just like village champion who travelled to America where he sees everything as if it’s a Paradise, that is the reason why he belittled the respected Office of the Governor of Abia State, wasted the scare resources just to deliver Pairs of shoes to the former President at Ottah Ogun State, instead of inviting him to the factory for selection. Who is even sure that what he delivered is an Aba made shoe because if it is, he would been proud to bring Buyers to the State.

Ikpeazu will soon understand how he was used to loot the treasury of Abia State after being ousted by the Supreme Court. He would later find out that some of the people he worked with are certified Criminals and Fraudsters..[Read More]...http://www.abnews247.com/opinion-ikpeazu-is-not-on-ground-not-connected-with-abia-communities-chuks-omesie/
