Can we one day have a team under Rohr without a makeshift player?

Akpo on the right? OK ooo...

Just as a poster here once said. Rohr will still be experimenting in Qatar.

All the best to team. But going forward, this man is lacking in ideas.

Great run into position and well nodded goal for Victor Osihmen.

Do you still wonder why he keeps starting?

Watch the goal again to know why? A complete striker he is.

Average showing overall!

On cyriel Dessers, happy for him @ last his dream came through. But he is not ready for African football(Jam body football). I saw him taking cover on several occasions. Dude looks scared like hell. He alongside apkpoguma need to up their game. Fitness wise.

I hope he is given another chance.

Ejuke was entertaining. He gave Nigerians just what they like- sharp guy. I see him getting another call up.

Papa Rohr as usual didn't disappoint. Not surprised though. You can't offer what you don't have. Makeshif LB, RB, ST. One day he'll give us a Makeshift GK. Anyway, We'll keep managing him.

Agreed without reservation but one question ❓

Is that the best team that we could put together considering the number of potential players we have across Europe.

You and I know that these players are what they are - POTENTIAL. I won't count my chicks before they hatch. There is no need to assemble a fantasy team. It's a total waste of time. We will only be building our castle in the sky. Until the potential players commit, we need to learn how to make use and get the best off what we have.

Rohr pulled a gaffe by starting Onuachu. Onuachu is not a bad player but as confirmed/stated by the coach, he doesn't suit out system. There was no need calling him when he won't fit in. It's an act of cowardice and ineptitudeness on Rohr's part. Poor decision if I must say.

If Paul must play, he then should play alongside those who will bring out the best in him and vice versa. The eagle has we know it have been flying on inverted wings ever since Rohr took over. From Victor Moses to Ejuke, we haven't had a decent crosser in years. Gone were the days of Finidi, Utaka, Peter, Obinna etc who were flank players with sole purpose of crossing the ball. Onuachu will thrive in such a system. Our full backs are also not helping matters.

One question for you @Komekn. Do you know of any FB eligible for Nigeria who is good with crosses? You can as well suggest such player(s). It will be of help to the scouting team.

Sometimes you just have to marvel at how far Nigerians can go to defend mediocrity.

There is this culture with Nigeria fans. They will do everything possible to defend their own(a player that comes from their state/LG).

Me can't wait to have Victor Osihmen, Joe Aribo, Wilfred Ndidi back to the team.

Position still up for grab
ST back up
LW
RW
AM back up
CM Back up
DM Back up

Rohr and Yobo have a lot to do.

Onuachu, Iheanacho, Chukwueze(he was totally disinterested in the match), Kalu, Musa, Agu etc are not players a sane coach can bank on.

If yesterday match was a must win one, that would have been the result.

If you think It's just a friendly, I'll suggest you go watch Turkey VS Germany.

There is no acceptable excuse for that showing.

Leon Balogun is a solid defender(one important player late Keshi gave us) . A deep in form has made many to underrate him.

He may not have quick feet but his defensive ability is ahead of Ekong, Awaziem, Omuero and Ajayi.

I know many will disagree with this. But that is what it is. He has kept clean sheets in all the minutes he has played in for Celtics this season-that is no small feat.

I won't be surprised if he starts tonight.

This is a player many don't want in the team.

I repeat, For now, Leon Balogun is way ahead of other CBS. TheSuperNerd doesn't call him the Dean of defense for nothing. Was totally unplayable.

A fit and playing Balogun is class above others in the team.

Here
Nice line up.

Onuachu has been given another life line. Hope he gels and make Nigerians to love him again.

Can't wait to see what the likes of Zaidu, Onyeka are bringing to the table likewise Dessers.

It took Aribo less than 45 minutes to win the hearts of Nigerians, Idowu did same only to find out he was a fraud.

Wishing all of them the very best and hopefully they make us all smile at the end of the day.

Bukayo Saka in the starting line up. Wishing him the best.

Can't find Tammy in the match day squad.

I hope they all have a great time with the 3-Lions.

So sad for Munir El Haddadi. Dude will no longer be able to play for Morocco.

His persistent pressure/fight alongside others(like Benzema) forced the hand of FIFA to make exception to the law. So sad he won't be benefiting from it.

I hope others will be cautious while making decision on who to play for in the future.

Kevin captained the German u-20 that defeated a Musa Muhammed led flying eagles that boasted of Wilfred Ndidi KC, I. Success etc... 5years later these guys stand shoulder to shoulder wearing the green white green.

I can still remember that day like yesterday. The match ended 4-2 in favor of the Germans. His switch did not come easy, but the Germans unlike the English, didn't make a mountain out of the molehill.

How I wish our F.A can snub these borough boys and focus more on getting players from other side of Europe/world commit to dorning our Jersey.

In the last 10years we have only being able to snatch 3(stand to be corrected) Aina,Moses and Iwobi from the jaws of the 3Lions. Compared to success with other dual nationality players(Balogun, Ekong, Dessers, Ebuehi, Ehizibue, etc). We got these guys with little to no fuss.

It's time we change our focus/strategy and allow the borough boys to do the chasing.

Happy to have the international break back. Looking forward to more pictures and updates from the camp. Thanks to all those updating us here.

I haven't come across any notable reasons for certain names ommissions.

Though the possibility of the recently switched absentees not getting a call up has been attributed to their inability to getting their Nigerian passport by some reputable monikers here. We can only wait to see how things unfold for subsequent call ups.

I have a feeling that after the matches against Ivory coast and Tunisia, players like Saka and Eze will make their national team decision known.

I no longer care much about the FBs who are yet to pledge their allegiance to us. Presently, considering the amount of talents coming up the ranks, anyone who rejects/ignore the chance to play for Nigeria is doing himself.

Lookman, Adarabioyo, etc come play for us dem de do Yanga... Today na dem de famz us.

For the very first time, I am happy with pappi Rohr... His squad selection for the friendly game is spot on. We missed an opportunity in March and other FIFA windows that were closed due to the pandemic to assess new additions to the team... Excusing Akpeyi and Ezenwa is the best decision in a long while. This isn't because those called up are better than them, but our need to find the 3rd GK thumps anyother thing.

The newly invitees must count themselves lucky. There may no other room/time for such experimentation till the world cup. Except such prospective individuals are immensely exceptional.

Lets see what Okoye, Alampasu, Ejuke, Dessers, Tijani, Zaidu all have to offer. I hope they grab this opportunity.

Growing up those days, the sitting room was never big enough for us to celebrate a goal. We usually ran out into the passage way and run back in again grin grin grin grin grin

Some times we even ran out of the house if it was a BIG GOAL. grin grin grin grin

How many can relate grin
Nostalgic!

Without mincing words, goal celebrations are no longer what they used to be... Majority of those who watch the game today are punters and not fans who are more interested in their slip than the game itself. Anxiety and fear that comes with winning/losing stakes is killing the vibes that come with goal celebration...

If you get knocked out of the 3rd qualifying round of the champions league you will partake in the Europa league play off

Then if you get knock out of the champions league playoff you will partake in the Europa league group stage

Hi forumites...

A quick one. What is the fate of the teams that get knocked out of the the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Qualifying stage? Do they automatically qualify for Europa? Or are they totally out of all continental show piece(UCL and UEL)?

We need to run a DNA test on Karl Johnsson... Perhaps he has ancestral link to Nigeria.

He won't be bad as Eagles No. 1

The guy was phenomenal tonight!
13 saves in a single UEL. Highest since 2009

If there is one player I'll like to move this transfer window, it is definitely TRYONNE EBUEHI.

That boy needs to start playing again!

An in form Ebuehi, Aina and Ehizibue are all we need to solidify the full back position.

People here talk about nigerian players of championship teams gunning for promotion into the EPL. So discussing and celebrating nigerian players in the segunda gunning for promotion to Laliga is now "naked blatant bigoted double standard and hypocrisy"??

I am relatively new here, but it is crystal clear that you are indeed bias in your general football knowledge with sentiments toward british football. The Championship is to the Spanish Segunda just as the EPL is to the spanish Laliga no matter the financial difference. So bringing the english third tier - league one - to comparison with the Segunda is kinda dumb.
