Nigeria Football is in a state of DESPAIR. The earlier we come to term with this, the better for US going forward. We are no longer the Giant of Africa. Football has departed this nation and we are only living on past glory. ![]() |
THE BEST SUPER EAGLES PLAYER IS AT BEST AN ABOVE-AVERAGE PLAYER. The supporters/fans needs to bring themselves to terms with this. |
Can we all now agree that Amaju Pinnick's administration is the worst ever seen by Nigerian Football? |
kingphilip:pain gotten from hurt is temporary, it intensity reduces with time and will eventually subside when something else of equal or closer magnitude takes its place. But note it takes time. |
Unpopular opinion, Rohr, though not a sound tactician, should be offer a position of a chief scout for the National Teams. Man seem to have Nigeria at heart. His post world cup qualification interviews are touching. Man sounds like someone who is adopting Nigeria as his second country. Amaju, pending the glass house election later in the year, should stick to administration and stop canvassing for foreign borns. He sucks at it. Iwobi's moment of brilliance against Zambia in 2017 WCQ keeps playing in my head. V. Moses, Iwobi, Balogun and Ekong have been the biggest steal in the last decade. Others haven't really lived up to expectations |
The Super Eagles lacks a leader! Rohr was right. We do not have players who can single handedly win a game. Players in the calibre of Jay Jay, Kanu Nwakwo, Sunday Oliseh, and the irreplaceable Vincent Enyeama. Rather than than allowing this to sink in. We ve sold lies to ourselves and we ve projected it to the lads. Reason why players like Moses Simon, Osihmen, Chukwueze etc felt they can pull it alone. We went into the double legged game counting on a debative individual talent rather than a collective team effort. Missing out at the world stage is painful. This hurt will linger to the end of the tornament in December. What a long year ahead for true Eagles supporters. |
AIG07:Poor and unbalanced team selection limited the coaches options. Our boys were psychologically unprepared for that encounter. No sense of urgency except for selected few. Every Nigerian fans are pained but the players are the biggest loosers. Players like Moses Simon will likely not have that world Cup experience. |
What if the match on Tuesday ends FT at 0-0. Which FIFA rule will come next? Extra time or head to head? I pray it's not head to head. |
AIG07:Home/Away/Neutral Ground, Nigeria Vs Ghana will always be 50/50. Our boys tried and held there own against the black stars of Ghana. The ticket to Qatar will be won from the sidelines. We can only hope addo doesn't outclass Eguavon in Abj. Cause that alone will smell doom for the local coaches. A loss will mean an end to local coaches appointment |
AIG07:NEVER WRITE OFF AN ARCH RIVAL. Okocha na Man wey sabi.
|
Sad we left early, but glad we are on the right track. The boys put in a great shift today. I can see a glimpse of hope. Hope that this team under a good manager will turn out to be a great side. Kudos to the technical crew... I enjoyed this AFCON far more than the last one. Make una use this Tweet relax body. Qatar 2022, here we come(if you know, you know).

JohnBullMySon:In 2006, Taiye Taiwo thunder strike was the difference, In 2008, we matched them man for man in all departments but lost with a single goal margin. No matter how poor or limp the SEs can be, when it's time to face these countries, expect nothing but the best from them. Argentina Ghana Cameroon If you want to see the best of Eagles, pair them against the above national team and these countries knows this and come prepared. I am in no way writing off our chances, mine is this, its a 50/50 duel. It could go either way. Banking on our current form and their recent woes and thinking it's going to be a walk in the park for us could be our undoing. Approaching the two legged WCQ games with the right mindset is key to our qualification. |
JohnBullMySon:There is a reason why it is called RIVALRY. It isn't about form and calibre of players to execute the matches but about history. |
The black stars of Ghana. The arch-rival of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. No matter how out of form the Ghanaians are when it's time to face Nigeria, you see their best. This is 50/50. I wish Eagles victory. |
caprikon:good to have you back comrade ![]() |
AIG07:How good is Moses Simon again? |
Soar Super Eagles |
Simon Moses "Daddy" Ajala has returned to his pre-2018 world cup form. A form that saw him and his wing compatriot Victor Moses help the Eagles Soar high during 2018 world cup qualifiers. Simon missing out at the last world cup was so painful. Had he made it the story could have been different today. He was yet again fantastic yesterday. I have always believed in his ability. For 4 good years Rohr rendered Eagles wings useless turning mesmerising players into defenders. That baba no try at all. Painful we waited that long before he was relieved of his job. |
Who else is happy? Rohr was an impediment! The old man stalled Eagles growth for 4years. The boys played like true Nigerians. Nigerians cherish good football and the boys dished it. Sleek passes, accurate long balls and good wing play. We can only get better from here. Soar super Eagles |
If the SE ends up winning the tournament, Will CAF hand Odion Ighalo a medal? |
andrewbaba44:you are absolutely spot on. If Awaziem must play, he should play as a CB. One thing I don't want to see with the new eagles is the deployment of players as a makeshift. Most especially the RB position. Players should be deployed to their natural position. We should not be having fully fit players seat on the bench why someone else play their role. If the coach feels they ain't good enough, then he shouldn't invite them. Rohr did this from his first match to the last. Aina and Ebuehi were the major culprit. Those guys suffered a lot. |

AFCON hosted by sub saharan African nations seems to be quite different to those hosted by the Northern Countries. The publicity, the build up, tension and vibes is second to non... Despite pandemic, insecurity and political instability challenges faced by the host nation, this edition of the tournament is thumping the last one hosted by Egypt. Has anyone else noticed this? |
How does one catch up with this thread! AFCON Fever everywhere. |
Glad people are waking up to the fact that Rohr is no longer the right man for the position. A quite number of monikers here knew this long time ago(3-4yrs) and have being calling for the head of the coach. Many were blinded by the results and the fact that he was easily qualifying the team for tournaments. Those who were for good football were tagged as 'enemy'. Today this group are vindicated. Rohr's mission was to get us out of the mess we found ourselves(synonymous to what biblical Moses did) which he has achieved. But, He is not the one to lead us into the promised land. We will only keep going round in cycles as long as he is at the helms. We either keep Rohr and lingered further in the wilderness of lacklusterness and be satisfied with qualifications or path way with him and get someone to lead us to the promise land. The choice is the federation to make. |
AIG07:here is a post I made sometime last year. we can as well wait 2 more years and allow this man do the final damage. |

femianski:one word BIAS. Sometimes people defend the undefendable. I hope nachos new found form continues... |
Congratulations to Kelechi Iheanacho on his POTM award. Bleacher Reports B/R won't report that(or has anyone seen anything related to Nacho winning the POTM) on any of their pages. Both Manager of the month and Goal of the month were reported and celebrated. Hmmm.. I am beginning these guys tends to be bias with their report. Trust me, if it were to be any of Mckennie, pulisic or Reyna that pulled nachos last month's stats. An entire series dedicated to them will be making rounds now. Perhaps they think they do not have audience in this part of the world. |
