Ibime: I believe that 100%. Messi wanted the false 9. Ibra didn't flop anything, someone was just better and wanted his spot.
In Man City, Pep called all the players in one of his first meetings and asked if any of them is Messi. They said no. Then he said Messi is the only player in football that can tell him what to do and he can't bench, and they should shut up and follow his instructions precisely. That's as per Sami Nasri who was a first hand witness. Popizaino and Raumdeuter, when will your Fraudiola win UCL without Messi?

Griffon: The latter isn’t even my biggest worry, breaking down low block defenses is.
Wolves have conceded just 14 goals this season, only Citeh, Liverpool and then us have let in fewer.
Literally, this means we’ll be up against a well drilled low block defense on Sunday. Another drab draw in sight? You are right. |

Martial and Rashford have the ability to bench anyone in City attack with proper training
Matic was a 30m signing after winning the league with Chelsea and he was not worse than Fernandinho before playing with Pep The same dude you always mocked at Chelsea and called Serbian Olofinjana? Our God is miraculous. raumdeuter: I told them Matic was albino version of Olofinjana na so dem shout some even called him best DM until Mourinho even Hiddink begin bench am raumdeuter: That Matic na average he is like the Serbian Olofinjana. popizaino: Sir Pep Guardiola found it difficult to motivate the Bayern Munich players who had just won treble the previous season.Any more question ? You want A40 to send you thunder? A40: I won't deny I was pro-Pep when he came in fact I recall the grueling arguments I had here with Nitlad where we argued extensively and he warned me. I was unhappy with the way we sidelined Don Jupp, but we were getting Pep it would be worth it we all thought
However I started seeing cracks when he brought that 4-1-4-1 nonsense. After seeing us in the knockout stages of the CL no well meaning Bayern fan was comfortable with our style of play! I had issues with Pep from the very first season because I always saw us losing the same damn way. Mauling small fry like Porto, Donetsk, losing badly to Barça, Madrid and looking outclassed while at it. You can argue with my choice of words and tag it like hyperbole but this is the normal response to Fraudiola apostles who think the sun shines from his behind. |

popizaino: What squad depth was SAF having in his later years when he won the league? Stop nitpicking, Firmino might get injured today and Djota would slot in perfectly whilst pep does not have the luxury of doing so. There has been couple of games were salah missed and they won comfortably so stop blowing this salah thing out of proportion. Your club has been winning in the absence of a world class midfielder like pogba but you've never said you have squad depth for this same reason. Pep is an excellent coach and his winning has got nothing to do with any array of talents at his disposal but his tactical genius. Array of talent na him make Barcelona go chop 7-0 against Bayern Munich in 2013 just immediately pep guardiola left them. |

How many times should we clear you guys of this misconception? airmark: Conte: “I asked for two players and we were very, very close after we won the league,” Conte said. “One player was Romelu Lukaku, the second player was Virgil van Dijk, and these two players were very, very close.
"We were in contact every day and I always said that with these two players we would improve my team by 30 per cent.
"It was a pity that it didn’t happen and Romelu is showing with Inter that my idea was right and also Van Dijk has shown with Liverpool that my idea was right for the club.” |

AnfieldFan: Salah fired us through when he was needed the most as you said. April to May, Mo was on fire... Liverpool played through an injury crisis which Tottenham didn't have... What happened to him between January and April? 9 goals in last 21 matches of the season, was unimpressive. Kane even did better than him. |

Android17: Your point about Neymar is valid. I would have used Harry Kane (not Salah) to replace him. Harry Kane even outperformed Salah between January and May 2021 in goals and assists. Lowkey, Salah's dip in form affected Liverpool's Epl's defence last season but some people don't want that conversation. |

But I'm sure you know this but for some reason we're still going round and round in circles... That win gave you an edge and put Leicester under intense pressure, which consumed them. AnfieldFan: That was the oga patapata...But my point is, Salah was the hottest most inform player in the league around league ending... Alcantara's resurgence along with Arnold's form picking had Salah scoring the most crucial goals.... Spurs' Son contributed more to goals from January to May 23, 2021. Salah's output during that period, was low compared to when you won the league penultimate season. Liverpool felt it. |

Ibime: Club football ends in May. National team still play through June and July and can achieve goals such as trophies in July, WQ Qualification in November etc.
Most leagues even start September, so players don't care about August when only England is playing.
Nominations probably open October, by then players have even instructed their PA which name to put down, besides players are not intelligent to start doing statistics when voting. They simply look at the winners and losers from season just ended. If Salah was this consistent for Liverpool in his last 21 matches last season, we wouldn't be having this conversation. 9 goals in his last 21 matches of the season, drowned Liverpool in Epl and drowned him deservedly in the FIFPRO 11. |
