Android17: The pass you're hoping he can make in your 2nd image is part of the danger of looking at still frames.
Can't you see that Kerkez is ahead of Gusto? Rewatch it again using the ref cam (the official EPL highlights have it). Kerkez will close Gusto down EASILY. Just as Mc Alister thought he would close Caicedo down easily. Kerkez that couldn't close Neto down.

Android17: Presumptive analysis. McAllister didn't even engage foolishly, Gusto put the ball out of touch with the quick pass to Caicedo whose 1st touch gave him separation. This just shows you have limited knowledge of on-field situations. Mc Allister moving towards Caicedo killed him there, but you wouldn't understand. Meanwhile, the ref cam won't show you the true distance between two players like the aerial view that captured better. Android17: Now Gusto is attempting to overlap to pull Kerkez aside, to open the space for Caicedo. Moses is now vs VVD (since that combo play with Moses has removed McAllister). VVD has to close the shooting lane. VVD instead tried to block the passing lane to Kerkez thinking he'll take his chances with Moses shooting.
Moses scored. Gusto wasn't running to pull Kerkez aside, he saw the acre of space and attempted to run thinking VVD would engage and he walks the ball to goal. It seems you never played attack before on the pitch. No experienced coach would blame VVD in that situation, but praise Caicedo.

Android17: Guy, why are you like this? Why are you going to many moments before the goal? Mc Allister engaged foolishly that's what gave Caicedo the chance as he breezed past him with his first touch. Gusto would have breezed past Kerkez with his first touch into the box. One must spoonfeed you.

Android17: Kerkez is onto Gusto, VVD is onto Caicedo. That's your image there. Which Kerkez is onto Gusto? Once VVD engages Caicedo, the passing lane will open and Gusto's first touch will get Kerkez out of the picture just as Caicedo's first touch from Gusto's initial pass did to Mc Allister. Before Cacicedo touched the ball, one would think Mc Alister had a chance, but the first touch knocked him off and exposed his rear, as seen below. That's why it's not everytime you engage.

Boateng could have retreated forme activity claiming he was tracking the run of another player but he took charge of the situation That is how defenders take charge and take responsibilities not pointing at others. raumdeuter: In this frame it is easy to see that Chelsea had a 2 vs 1 advantage on the PSG defender which is why the other defender tried to join and help
in Liverpools game, Kerkez was already with Gusto, So what is VVD reason for avoiding Caicedo How is Kerkez with Caicedo here? Had VVD engaged Caicedo earlier, a pass to Gusto who would have touched the ball diagonally into the box, away from Kerkez who wouldn't touch Gusto as he would breeze in to face the helpless keeper.

popizaino: You are the least person i would expect to say this.
In what world was VVD supposed to leave there and charge Caicedo?
In an ideal football world, where is it expected that a CB charge forward and mark a DM?
If Caicedo had missed no one would be singing the praises of VVD.
If you expect VVD to stop Caicedo from there then you expect VVD to also stop Sanchez kicking the ball forward. The moment i saw the frame without Gusto, i knew something was wrong with their analyses. Raumdeuter and his gang of ignorant analysts didn't blame PSG's defenders when Gusto made similar run to unsettle their defence for Palmer's 2nd goal at CWC.

If VVD charges at caicedo, that would be termed a rookie move in the world of professionals.. Abeg don't put me on this list before Timbros will say I am seeking attention. I'm not sure anyone analysed that situation correctly before I did, when people like Raumdeuter, Blueraydick and co were ignorantly mocking VVD's decision. Don't affiliate my post with Timbros wack view, I only backed your valid view. My post like 4 days ago. airmark: Was an opponent running towards his goal from his left side?
You want him to push upfront and create space for Gusto, who was running to the goal, to score? |

Silentgroper: Thank you .
I believe some understand this .. but just want to be sentimental about the situation so they could throw jabs at VVD. .But in a professional setting VVD made the right call and obviously the posture he attained was him making himself big in case caicedo decides to shoot anywhere close to his direction ..
Be like you get sense pass that timbros wey una two dey like cat and rat.. For you to just be discovering this, shows you have difficulty with mental acuity. |

Silentgroper: oga caicedo wasn't his man .. at that position gusto was his man ..
McAllister is who should've stopped caicedo ..
Una Sha go wan fit say anything to run THE WORLD BEST CB DOWN .. See the gap between him and caicedo .. how CB go dey lap back to go block caicedo .. if he did then and caicedo gives gusto the ball .. there's no way kerkez is stopping gusto from shooting but Pictures VVD there , except gusto cuts inward, he is not getting a shot past VVD.. In as much as there's no difference between you and Trevor, you are spot on. I explained this match situation after I was tagged but I don't expect everyone to understand. The most dangerous attacker is the one closest to goal. VVD engaging Caicedo early like many ignorantly wanted, Gusto would just need a soft touch into the box, to face the Keeper and there would have been no chance for Kerkez, other than to cause a PK. The picture below is clear.

Salah Praise Dor is what Cucurellea will be celebrating while his mates are showing individual achievement Raya never made team of the year before he benched Ramsdale who had team of the year to his accomplishment, a season before Raya joined. Arteta must be foolish for preferring Raya to the keeper of the year in 2023/2024 season, right?. Foolish logic. |

This one is trying to brag with something that happens with other teams. You shouldn't be the one here. You were the 'under dog' in the last Europa cup final after losing twice to those Ondo boys from White hart lane last season, they still planked your forehead like Lokili, in May. |
